DJ Cris is the greatest! Stop your search and book him! We interviewed DJs more than any other vendor. I was getting frustrated and disappointed with the DJ process until we met Cris. In our opinion, the music/DJ makes or breaks the night. Cris’ personality and professionalism was unmatched. We felt so comfortable with him from the start of our first meeting. Cris wasn’t the typical over-the-top showy DJ who made it about him. The conversations with Cris were natural. He provided a questionnaire and portal to help us curate the music together. So much more goes into selecting music than we could have ever imagined. Cris was patient with our schedules for meetings and our lack of decisions leading up to the wedding. We chose some key songs – walking down the aisle, entrance song, first dance, father/mother dances, and the last song. We asked Cris to take care of the rest. We gave him genres we enjoyed, asked him to cater to multiple generations (parents/family), and a do not play list. Cris provided the entertainment and set up for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. There were zero issues with the sound and microphones during the ceremony and speeches, which we’ve witnessed too many times at other weddings. Cris also provided the lighting and a GOBO monogram for the dance floor and had several options to choose from. We even got to keep the monogram disk after the wedding. Cris stuck to the timeline and pivoted in the moment (like when my dad went to the bathroom when it was his turn to speak) to keep the night flowing flawlessly. The telltale sign that we made the right decision hiring Cris was looking around the packed dance floor surrounded by our friends and family. Cris was phenomenal and we truly cannot recommend him enough.

Red Velvet DJs was amazing! We had 2 phone conferences with Chris prior to the wedding so he can get an idea of what we wanted, and he was totally flexible playing special songs for us and our parents. He sends you a planning guide to make a must play list, a don’t play list, and to pick special songs. We also went with the photo booth package, and that was well worth the money. The photo booth attendant was so nice as well. Thank you for so a memorable evening!

Red Velvet DJ is great! We bundled the photo booth and DJ services with them. The photo booth was a hit, and the whole team was incredible. DJ Cris was phenomenal. He used great judgment with our song request list and balanced it with the requests from the crowd. Everyone was up on the floor dancing the night away! People are still talking about how great the music was. Finally, Cris is also very responsive to emails. Don't hesitate, you get great service. Thank you Cris & team for an unforgettable experience!

Cris was very helpful and patient with me throughout the whole process. I appreciated that I could call him anytime and he was always able to answer my questions without feeling rushed or ridiculous for asking in the first place. Everything was handled quickly and he even called my church to make sure the microphone would work with their system- I was never worried and completely confident in his abilities. A week before the wedding, we scheduled a call and made sure I was 100% ready for the event and walked through the whole agenda with me. Then on the day of, Cris was extremely professional and took care of things that I hadn't even expected him too. He was quick to adapt to new situations but made sure I was okay with the days plans as well. I could not have asked for a better DJ service.

Cris was absolutely amazing and I am so, so happy we went with Red Velvet DJ for our wedding DJ! The uplighting was beautiful and Cris did a fantastic job reading our guests and keeping our dance floor filled all night long. He was so helpful in keeping the day running smoothly and we couldn't even imagine our wedding without his help.

Red Velvet DJ is AMAZING! Cris was incredibly helpful throughout the whole process, and the questionnaire/program he has you fill out for your music choices is genius. As a DJ, Cris did such an amazing job with all of the music all night! He kept the party going and make sure to check in with us periodically to see if we had any special requests. He even kept our private last dance song a secret from my husband so I could surprise him with one of our favorites. Cris should really be a celebrity DJ! We couldn't recommend anyone more. DJ Cris was exactly what we were looking for in a DJ and he delivered! Before finding Cris, we reached out to multiple DJs who were just unresponsive and had Zoom meetings with others who we knew weren't the right fit. Then, we found DJ Cris and knew we were a match! He is a super nice, normal guy. That might not sound like much of a compliment, but we interviewed DJs who seemed like they were on another planet. We had a Zoom call with Cris and the conversation was effortless. Cris listens, ask questions, responds quickly, offers suggestions, and his professionalism and conscientiousness from our wedding ceremony to cocktail hour to dinner reception to closing the night were more than we could have hoped for, including kicking up the energy level when the crowd seemed to be puttering out. Thank you, Cris, we will recommend you to anyone we run across who is looking for a DJ.

Cris did a fantastic job at our Wedding in March. He made so many accommodations due to the weather and I did not hear a single problem. Words can’t explain how amazed we are looking back at videos. I would give Cris more than 5 stars if I could. He knew how to set the tone for the environment and how to read a crowd and play the music accordingly. He even got my 90 year old great-grandma dancing. Thank you Cris for making my night a memorable one.

Cris was the best!! Such a great DJ! He really worked with us on everything and went through all the names to make sure he pronounced everything correctly. Everything went so smooth and he was so kind. I’d recommend him to everyone!!

Cris had a great Karaoke system that matched what we would expect at a karaoke bar. He had every song that all of our guests wanted along with a nice projector to put the words on a huge screen that the whole party could clearly read. His speaker system was very good. We would recommend Cris and Red Velvet DJ for anybody looking for a great karaoke party!

We can't thank Cris enough for joining our micro wedding! He was amazing--from the very first call to the day of the wedding. He played all the songs we requested and did it in a way that flowed and kept the party going. He was also a huge help when it came to our family's speeches. I cannot tell you how nervous I was to hire someone I didn't know at all to basically control how my evening was going to go, but that all went away once I had my first phone call with Cris!! He is very professional and knows exactly what he's doing. He's very organized and well put together!! We had the BEST wedding with Chris’ help! He was very professional and experienced, which made him easy to work with. Chris helped us create an outline for our reception and was super helpful during the event. I did not hire a day-of coordinator and honestly, with Chris there I didn’t need to! The entire event ran smoothly and the music was awesome! He was able to play something for everyone and was even able to take my music requests during the middle of the night which also made for a great time. Chris is fun, friendly, professional and very experienced, I would definitely recommend him and hire him again for another event!!

Like many couples who altered their plans in response to COVID, we ended up completely shifting our wedding plans (including a relocation from Chicago to SoCal) and having a 30 guest wedding in Temecula, CA in April 2021. We found Cris and immediately hit it off - he's SO responsive, friendly, chill, and just a really cool guy. We knew he was the perfect fit to DJ our wedding. The day/night was perfect and Cris did an amazing job keeping us organized and getting everyone on the dance floor. Our venue loved working with him so much that they added him to their recommended vendor list! Cannot recommend Cris & Red Velvet DJ enough!

We had to scramble to find a DJ last minute, and I'm so happy we were able to find Red Velvet Dj's. Cris was very professional, warm and friendly. Put together a great list of songs based on our requests and wishes. Announcements and timing were spot on. Thank you Cris for such a perfect night!

We got married in November of 2020, so this review is long overdue. We hired Cris on WeddingWire but I wanted to share our experience with him as our DJ on The Knot as well! I cannot recommend Red Velvet Dj’s enough. So professional, easy going, calm and collected. All the things you need to make a wedding run smoothly and keep a bride calm as well :) Cris is very communicative and so polite and kind. Everything was perfect. He was honestly perfect at reading the crowd and knowing exactly what to play and when to play it. We all had so much fun! You will be doing yourself a Favor by hiring Cris for your event!!

Cris was incredible. He was to attentive to our style and helped our wedding flow so well. Not only did he sort through all the the playlists I gave him for the different parts of our evening and create a perfect mix of music but he was an amazing MC. All of our guests were saying how well the wedding flowed and it was so seamless. He is an amazing DJ, and really knows his stuff. He created a perfect mashup of music for my dad and I to dance to for our father daughter dance and was so kind and timely if I ever needed it tweaked for our choreography. Cris is an expert at what he does and we can not recommend him more!

Red Velvet DJs was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Chris took care of everything, he was extremely easy to work with and he was extremely professional. We LOVED Cris at Red Velvet DJ! He was incredibly accommodating and by far the most helpful out of all the vendors we hired for our wedding. His response time was great when we contacted him with questions which made us feel like he really appreciated us as clients. His level of experience also put our minds at ease, something very important on your big day! The price was fabulous so we really feel like we got the best bang for our buck considering the great service we received. Cris was recommended to us by one of his former clients, and we recommended him on to a couple we know who is getting married soon and will now be using Cris as well! I think this speaks for itself.

It was such a pleasure to work with Cris. Looking back on our wedding, with all of the moving pieces, Cris was someone we counted on for the sound at the ceremony, dinner music, and dancing and he delivered! It was seamless. Above all, Cris is a DJ. Not one of those hoaky wedding DJs--- he is an artist and is impressive. Having a DJ of his caliber will make a difference! We hosted less than 45 people due to the pandemic. The ceremony was in a boathouse on the beach and the reception was up the hill. Cris set up a really strong sound system for the ceremony, and played the music we asked for and it was perfectly timed for the processional and recessional. After the cocktail reception Cris was already ready to go up in the hill for introductions and toasts. He worked closely with us on the sequence of events for the reception, gave us suggestions based on his experience, and everything went just as we envisioned. As far as a DJ, we gave Cris a bunch of “do not play” songs and a few “must play.” He delivered. The party did not stop, he mixed songs in perfectly, and moved effortlessly among the many different genres that we like. One of my cousins, who is a sound engineer, remarked, “this guy knows what he’s doing!” In short, if you’re stressed about logistics or nervous about people dancing, hire Cris and take that stress out of the equation. He is someone you can trust and he will turn the wedding into a party.

We got married at the beginning of February and used Red Velvet DJ for our reception. Our DJ was Cris, and he was outstanding. We gave him a short list of “have to play” songs, and he filled in the rest with essentially perfect music for the crowd and occasion. I don’t think there was a single moment where the dance floor was empty. Everything went well with the microphones for speeches, pacing, music, or volume, and he even checked on us occasionally throughout the night to make sure everything was going as we wanted. One thing we really appreciated was that he was able to blend in music suggestions from our guests! It really helped to make the night more personal and fun. Also, we went with a package that included the photobooth, and it was an absolute hit! Our guests had a ton of fun. Plus, we got a USB stick with copies of all the pictures, at the end of the night! We would definitely recommend Red Velvet DJ for anyone else looking for a wedding DJ!

Cris was the best DJ - and we are so happy we went with Red Velvet for our wedding this past weekend. Not only did he keep everyone on the dance floor, but he did an incredible job of MC that the entire night went by seamlessly. Cris was amazing to work with from start to finish! 3 weeks after our wedding we are still getting compliments from friends and family on how amazing the music was, our dance floor was never empty! Cris drove to our neighborhood to meet with us prior to the event day and even worked on a surprise video for me from my dad. We cannot recommend Red Velvet Events enough!

We called a few DJs before speaking with Cris, but the moment we got off the phone- we knew Cris and his crew were the ones we wanted for our wedding! From all of our interactions leading up to and during the event, I was always impressed. Cris and Chris are so dedicated to making their service as personable as possible, that they drove to the city of Chicago two weeks before the wedding to sit down with my husband and I and go over names, timeline, songs, and any other details. That commitment left me awe-struck. The music was perfect from the cocktail hour, ceremony, dinner, and dancing. Our reception never had an empty dance floor! The music was on point. Our up-lighting was also a gorgeous touch. We added the photo booth to our package, and our guests loved it! Not to mention how many guest photos we now have. From our interactions leading up to and during the event, I was impressed the entire time. He really captured my vision for the evening and helped me clean up some timeline issues I was unsure about. The lighting included with the package helped to set the final tone for the evening and I honestly am so glad to have found Red Velvet. I want to throw an anniversary party every year just so Cris can DJ <3

Cris was AMAZING!!! We could not have found a better DJ to mix our styles of music together, from Hip Hop to Country to Jazz and back to Rap. He was so easy to work with, we just picked our music and he made it the soundtrack of our day! Truly a genuinely nice person! We look forward to using him for other events!
