Chef | Owner Neal Fraser's flagship restaurant, Redbird, features Modern American cuisine that is refined, yet approachable and highlights the multicultural influences of Chef Fraser’s native city – Los Angeles.
Located in downtown, Redbird is carved into one of the City’s most historic architectural gems - the former rectory building of Vibiana. Vibiana, the cathedral-turned-event-venue, is also owned and operated by Fraser. Designer Robert Weimer created a dynamic space that pays homage to the cathedral next door and the existing timeless architecture by inserting simple modern forms to complement rather than overtake the feel of the rooms.
In addition to the main dining room and lounge, a wide variety of unique private event rooms are available upstairs, plus an intimate garden and Vibiana. Special events of all sizes are highly customizable, combining indoor and outdoor experiences. Each room has its own featured design highlights and history. Many of the rooms also have private open kitchens which allow for first-hand interaction with Chef Fraser and his team.
Wine Director Jaime Arzate's wine list is well-rounded with great finds from both established and emerging wine regions throughout the world. An extensive cocktail menu by Bar Director Tobin Shea features well-balanced, bespoke renditions of the classics.
The versatility of hosting an event on property is endless, offering a highly customizable backdrop for celebrations of any style, including weddings, rehearsal dinners, engagement parties, showers, brunches, photoshoots, filming, entertainment, corporate, non-profit, and performing arts. Full property buy-outs and combining several rooms are also available.

Chef Neal Fraser took over operations of Vibiana, the cathedral-turned-event-venue in Downtown Los Angeles and three years later opened his flagship restaurant, Redbird, in the property's rectory building. Redbird features Modern American cuisine that is refined, yet approachable and highlights the multi-cultural influences of Fraser’s native city – Los Angeles. Prior to the success of Redbird and Vibiana, Fraser opened two of the City's most loved restaurants – critical darling Grace, and ever-beloved, breakfast, lunch and dinner bistro, BLD.

Met up with friends for a truly delicious dinner. Highlights:
Good happy hour deals, but the discount does not apply to the dining area though you may still order anything from that menu.
Food favorites: prawns w/ pineapple salsa, summer truf...
fled gnocchi, whole crispy branzino, and peach and cream pie. Prawns were succulent while the salsa added some tartness that enhanced the overall flavor and the almonds on top added a contrast in texture. The gnocchi were incredibly soft and paired nicely with the corn crema, could have done with more truffles though. Branzino was served with a beautiful lemongrass broth that is poured on top at the table. The branzino was tender and absorbed the broth's flavor well. Peach and cream pie was light and a lovely way to end the evening.
The restaurant was about half full, which wasn't bad for a weeknight evening, but when I came years back, they were packed on a weeknight. It didn't help that there were a dozen police cars lined up across the street when my friends arrived (we have no clue what was happening). Definitely get the apprehension about coming out to DTLA, but there are restaurants like Redbird that are worth coming out for, especially if you're looking for an elegant and worthwhile dining experience.

Beautiful restaurant, with pretty bathrooms.
Food quality is superb. Had the sea bass, smoked tofu and fig appetizer & mochi nut dessert.
Cocktails are very unique with fruity wine mix and carbonation.
Love the “outdoor” seating.

As we acclimate to being parents and finding places that we can pop in and still have a good time with our baby, Redbird raised the bar.
We were able to walk in firstly get to order from the happy hour menu which does come with the requirement...
of being seated inside in their lounge area but it in itself is a vibe! Food was amazing, the servers were kind and attentive, and the drinks and bartenders were next level great!
Baby friendly, and spacious to walk around. The whole aesthetic is beautiful and I recommend this for anyone traveling to LA

We came here on the day the LA protests were happening. So things would have been quieter i am sure.
I highly recommend the prawns which were full of flavor. The snap peas were so refreshing and delightful.
I really liked the Cavatelli becaus...
e it wasn't too heavy. The pork chop was prepared very well.
The desserts were just OK. The guava sorbet was gritty and the Earl Grey didn't quite come together.
The outside air tables were nice but definitely would have been better with the helicopter or loud blasts.
Service was good and staff were very informative.
This place was worth the visit!

Great vibe, nice hospitality, can’t beat the setting. The food was good but not out-of-this-world good. Our favorite part was actually the free bread to start the meal. We weren’t told what it was but it was stuffed with a light cheese? and it ...
was amazing. The crudo was fine but nothing unique. The roasted figs were very good but very sweet, it’s right up there for one of the best desserts I’ve ever had, but was an appetizer.
The pasta was also fine, but pretty unremarkable. Not pictured is the smoked bbq tofu, which was good and a big portion, but also very sweet, it was really the only flavor to the dish.
Mango pudding for dessert was beautiful but I’d get something else if I returned. The scoop of frozen yogurt was exceptional.
