About this vendor
Hi! My name is Ace. With over a decade of professional dancing and teaching experience, I specialize in creating beautiful, inclusive wedding dances for couples in Austin, Texas. While I was born and raised in Austin, my teaching journey has taken me all over the world, including Seoul, South Korea; Quebec, Canada; and all over the U.S.
I love giving couples the tools and confidence to have an amazing first dance. The best part? The skills we learn together will stay with you long after your wedding day.
Each lesson is tailored to your song and dance goals. By the end of our classes, you'll have a routine that feels great and the confidence to execute it. We'll plan how to start and end your first dance, plus add fun moves to fill out the middle.
I'm happy to go over your song choices with you to explore style options. Whatever you pick, I'll help you plan a memorable and FUN routine that will wow your loved ones. While single lessons are available a la carte, I recommend as many lessons as you can squeeze in before your big day! You can review package options on my website at https://www.acedances.com/wedding-lessons.html.
Most folks choose Slow Dancing for their first dance (I promise it's a lot more interesting than the Middle School Sway), but I also offer classes in over 15 different dance styles, including Latin, Country, Swing, and Ballroom.
You’ll feel comfortable learning in my relaxed, private studio space in central Austin, conveniently located near 51st St, Airport Blvd, Hwy 290, and I-35.
After each lesson, I want you to feel empowered to practice at home. That’s why I always provide a full outline of what we covered. If you’re a visual learner, I’m happy to record the moves we learn in class so you can reference them at home.
My goal is to make dancing fun, easy, and approachable. Students have told me that I have a super-power of making even the most nervous students feel at ease and excited to learn.
I’m excited to work with students of all backgrounds. Dancing should be inclusive and accessible to everyone. If you have a specific need or concern, please don’t hesitate to ask—I’m here to help make this experience as easy and stress-free as possible for you. And please know that whatever your sexuality or gender identity, you are warmly welcomed here.
Ready to get started?
The first step is to get in touch so we can begin our dance journey together. From there, we can discuss pricing, scheduling, and plan your dream first dance!

orner! We came in with zero dance experience and left feeling so confident. Ace is patient, kind, funny, and we loved our lessons with them. 100% recommend Ace to any couple who wants to do more than just away back and forth during their first dance. Now, my husband and I are the first ones on the dance floor at our friends’ weddings. Thank you, Ace!!
Our experience with Ace was amazing. In the space of 2 hours, we went from totally nervous to completely prepared. Ace is the consummate pro. So happy we did this!

y moves to use. It was important to me to find someone who was willing to take a lot of the gendered roles out of the dance experience and Ace was exactly the right person for that. Their space was clean, comfortable, and private. We have continued to consider coming back for more lessons past our wedding date. Ace made the entire experience fun and one of the best parts of our wedding planning process.

ayed around the dance floor, so we decided to book with Ace. Right off the bat, Ace was friendly, warm, and welcoming. Their studio is cozy and we loved meeting their cat on the way in :) . We did four lessons, which Ace managed to fit in the three weeks before our wedding because we booked late. We learned several different moves which we were then able to put together for a lovely first dance! I was so impressed and felt way more comfortable and calm by the end of our lessons. Ace was patient and mindful of our experience levels and just generally a good teacher. Honestly so glad that we not only got lessons, but chose Ace specifically. Both my husband and I were nervous to take lessons and worried it would be more of a chore, but Ace made it fun and easy - to the point we looked forward to our lessons after work! Plus, their rate is incredibly affordable for the amount of experience and individual care that they bring to the table. We left completely happy with our decision to learn from them and I would recommend them to anyone. If you are at all nervous about your first dance - please please please book with Ace! You will not regret it.

Ace is incredibly knowledgeable and skilled in dance. She took the time to understand our goals and the style of dance we wanted to learn for our first dance. Their expert guidance and personalized approach made us feel confident and prepared. We appreciated how they tailored the lessons to fit our skill level, making it enjoyable even for those of us with two left feet!
Fun and Encouraging Atmosphere:
Each lesson was filled with laughter and positivity. Ace created a warm and encouraging environment that made us look forward to every session. They were patient and supportive, helping us to overcome any nervousness we had about performing in front of our guests. Their enthusiasm for dance was infectious, and it truly made the experience fun!

We also appreciated Ace’s flexibility with scheduling and their willingness to accommodate our needs as we prepared for the big day.

ules), and very knowledgeable about multiple styles. We've learned some slow dance, foxtrot, rumba, cha cha, etc. and are now learning our first dance choreography for our wedding. It's a very beginner friendly place, but Ace won't let you get bored either! Always ready to match pass with however much you are comfortable learning in a lesson. Definitely reach out to Ace if you have been itching to try something new, or want to add some flair to your first dance!

They made me feel extremely comfortable and really demonstrated to make sure we understood and also performed well with the moves. I couldn't have been happier with our first dance, and even though it wasn't 100% core graphed, Ace really worked to make sure we picked the right song and tempo we wanted to convey. I can't say how many compliments we received from our dance, and I can't give enough credit to Ace! Thank you again 1,000 times over!

to book with Ace after how responsive they were and hearing about the approach. Our prior attempts at dancing were clumsy but things were going much smoother after our first lesson. Ace was more than patient with us, very encouraging, and gave us many helpful pointers as they instructed us. The recaps by email after each lesson and playlist of additional songs to dance to so we could mix it up was very helpful for us to refresh our memories while we were busy preparing for our wedding.
By the end of our four dance lessons, we felt ready and excited to do our first dance with a repertoire of different dance moves. It was so fun and we know that those attending enjoyed it. Thanks Ace!
It was my very first dance class and I really enjoyed it!

10/10 experience. Would recommend for people of all dance levels. Informative and fun!
We are so glad we chose to take lessons with Ace for our wedding. My partner and I had never really taken dance classes before and were *very* beginner level to say the least. But ...
in only four lessons Ace took us from barely being able to do a basic 2-step to twists, dips, and even a lift! Ace was patient and encouraging and tailored the lessons to our level, gradually helping us build up our skills with each class. Our guests were so impressed when we whipped out our moves during our first dance—they couldn't stop raving about it! It was definitely one of the highlights of the night. Don't hesitate to book Ace if you're looking to learn some skills for your first dance (or any dance)!

ked our wedding planner for recommendations, and she gave us 4 or 5 names. My fiancé emailed all of them at once and within FIVE minutes, Grace was calling us on the phone! My fiancé and I didn’t want a big song and dance number; we just wanted to learn some basic moves to do during our first dance so that we weren’t standing in the middle of the dance floor swaying from side to side like two middle schoolers at a school dance. Grace gave us exactly what we asked for. She was so patient with us and very encouraging. We were only able to get two lessons in before our wedding, but that was enough. Our first dance went perfectly! We both felt very confident on the dance floor thanks to Grace. We cannot recommend her enough!

ig day. We had a few different songs we were deciding between, and before we came in for our first lesson, Grace gave them all a listen and her recommendation (which we’d been leaning towards anyway!) We are NOT dancers, but Grace gave us the tools to come up with a great first dance, and the lessons were so much fun! She was so patient with all of our questions and just an all around great, encouraging person.
