BOOK HIM NOW!!! Michael is fantastic. Not only did he create the most beautiful engagement and wedding photos, but he also was easy to work with. He is worth every penny and MORE. Now to the details. Michael has a way of capturing the emotions of the moment in one photo. He suggested a waterfall engagement photo session, and we agreed. Before the session, he provided a nice guide on what colors to wear and clothing type, which helped us plan accordingly. When we got there, the location was cold, snowy and wet. To our surprise, Michael brought with him a warm PNW blanket that matched our clothing perfectly. The session was both adventurous (some hiking required) and easy-going. Michael is great at giving directions to ensure you get the best angles and lighting to make you look like a super-model. I was so cold and wet by the end of it that I was scared the photos would not look ideal. NOPE! They captured the love and happiness, not the cold and wetness. Plus, he used everything around us to provide small details to the art of his photograph. Forward to the wedding day. He arrived as scheduled and began working almost immediately, taking all the "classic" wedding photos of the bride/groom team getting ready. As much as he was present taking photos during all the important moments, he didn't feel like he was imposing himself on the moment. So much so that I felt I saw him all of 3 times during the whole ordeal. The family and friends all talked fantastic things of him and the work he did. Honestly, I can't recommend him more. Do yourself a favor and just don't think twice and book him. You wont be disappointed.

Michael was amazing! We had a small venue and he was able to make the most of it and get amazing photos of everyone. My family is pretty crazy and I know we were very difficult and don’t follow directions well but Michael was able to get all of us together at separate times and was quick and easy. He was not only an amazing photographer but an amazing guest!

My husband and I were so lucky to find Michael via the Knot! We planned our wedding from afar, and Michael made the process so easy. He was responsive, approachable and such a delight to speak with. On the day, we were on a pretty tight schedule, and of course had some rain, but Michael found a way of capturing the all the love and happiness around us - seriously surpassed all our hopes for our photos! Highly recommend Michael to any couple on the hunt for a great photographer!

Michael was amazing! We had a small intimate wedding and Michael captured it perfectly. He made us comfortable and took the most amazing photos. We are currently making a photo wall to highlight our special day.

Michael was the absolute best photographer we could have asked for! Completely professional and extremely talented. I was not the most organized bride, but Michael made me feel at ease. He carried a schedule around with him and even helped with the groomsmen’s boutonnières. I was so impressed with the photos we received and the goodies he included with them. Michael was seriously so great to work with! Communication was 100% he was so professional and informative! He Always called/ met us on time and was so easy to work with! He was super helpful in giving us poses and telling us what to do as we had never taken professional pictures together before and the pictures turned out better than we can ever imagine. It’s so nice to have all of our pictures in an online site and so nice that he allows us to own them/use them for whatever. We couldn’t imagine working with anyone better! If you're on the fence about getting a wedding videographer, don't be. Just do it, and make sure it's soikephoto! Our wedding video is by far my favorite memento of the day. Michael did such a phenomenal job...the moments he captured, the editing, the lighting, the music...I could watch this video on repeat. My now father-in-law was unable to attend the wedding, and I can't tell you how special it is to have this to share with him. Having the whole ceremony to rewatch will be something we'll cherish in the years to come. Michael was amazing to work with. Always quick to respond, and just genuinely a kind person. On wedding day, he had such a calming presence, and I never felt awkward or like there was a camera in my face. My husband even said it was so fun to have Michael there in those moments before our first look. Even though they had just met, Michael and my photographer worked together like an effortless team. Michael, I am so grateful and can't thank you enough!

Michael is a great photographer! I would recommend him to anyone. He keeps things light-hearted and did a great job directing my fiance and I who have no modeling experience and can be super camera shy. :) The photos turned out better than I ever imagined!

My fiancé and I were extremely nervous prior to taking our engagement photos. Both of us are from Chicago, so we needed a ton of help in planning locations / outfits. Michael did such an amazing job shooting our intimate wedding on Whidbey Island. I really appreciate his ability to keep us calm and comfortable before/during/after our ceremony. He was great at coordinating both our families to get the perfect shot, without being pushy. He showed up on time (even with the unpredictable ferry traffic) and kept a positive, chill attitude the whole time. Oh yeah, did I mention his photos turned out amazing!?! I am so happy we found Soike Photo to do our wedding photos! Michael and his partner Cassandra were so professional, calm and collected while we took photos with a rambunctious wedding party, and an equally rambunctious family. The whole day was such a whirlwind and I was at first very nervous since we didn't have a day of coordinator for such a big wedding. Because Michael has photographed so many weddings and is just an overall professional, he acted almost like our pseudo wedding coordinator and managed the timing of photos and other events for us. He also managed to capture every perfect moment while not being in the way! To be completely honest, I forgot he and Cassandra were there part of the time yet the images they captured were as if they were right next to us and our guests the entire time. There were parts of the wedding I forgot about because it was such a hectic day, so it warms my heart that Michael captured all of the memories I get to relive with my husband for the rest of our lives through pictures and a beautiful video. I'll definitely continue to hire Michael and Cassandra for more life milestones in the future <3

When it came to having a wedding videographer, my husband and I were on the fence. It was something I always wanted though we weren't sure it was something we could afford, but I saw a video Michael created and thought I would give him a call. He was so easy to communicate with, and helped make our video idea come true. Not only did he help with our wedding but also provided a great engagement shoot with suggestions on location, props etc. Then comes the wedding day. Michael showed up promptly with all his gear ready to go, he placed items strategically to feature them; and made myself, husband and all wedding guests feel comfortable. Our video captured all the "key" moments of our day. Once delivered, we were able to watch not only the full video but also multiple mini highlights he provided. We would love to use Michael's services again in the future as we grow our family and want to capture more special moment in our lives!
