e construction of the venue—it made us appreciate the space even more. The property itself is absolutely beautiful and impeccably maintained. The bridal suite was the perfect place to spend the morning getting ready, and the groom's suite gave the guys a fun, comfortable space of their own. The fireplaces, patio, and other outdoor spaces created such a warm, inviting atmosphere, and we loved that guests could easily move between the indoor and outdoor areas throughout the evening. So many of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was. Throughout the planning process, the team was highly responsive and communicated with us every step of the way. They were also incredibly accommodating, allowing us to schedule an additional walkthrough before the wedding, which gave us extra confidence going into the big day. One of our favorite things about Black River Barn was how customizable the space was. We were able to make it feel like *our* wedding while still taking advantage of everything the venue had to offer. On our wedding day, everything ran seamlessly from start to finish. We never had to worry about the logistics because the staff had everything under control, allowing us to fully enjoy every moment with our family and friends. We truly couldn't have chosen a better place to celebrate our wedding. If you're looking for a stunning venue with an amazing staff who genuinely cares about making your day special, we can't recommend Black River Barn enough!

till being elegant. Even though it was freezing outside (January in Michigan!), we stayed cozy and comfortable all day. The fire pits were such a great touch and made everything feel even more special. Because we held our ceremony indoors, the space needed to be flipped for the reception — and the staff handled it flawlessly. The transition was incredibly smooth, and everything was set up so seamlessly. We didn’t have to worry about a thing. The staff was truly fantastic. Every single person took such great care of us and made sure our day ran perfectly. We felt so supported and celebrated. We couldn’t have chosen a better venue for our winter wedding. Highly recommend to any couple looking for a beautiful space with an amazing team behind it!

ustic yet elegant aesthetic, and we couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else. The outdoor ceremony site is truly breathtaking. Surrounded by trees bursting with vibrant fall colors, it made the space feel intimate and romantic. The natural beauty created such an incredible backdrop for our ceremony that we opted for our only ceremony florals to be placed on the arch. The indoor reception space is just as impressive, thoughtfully designed and impeccably maintained. The intimate lighting emitting from stunning chandeliers as well as the two-sided fireplace and outdoor bonfire pits created a warm, cozy, and elevated ambiance that was perfect for a reception on a chilly fall night. And that bar?! Wow. It's spacious and was the perfect spot for our guests to not only grab a drink but also have room to hang out and mingle when not on the dance floor. The bridal and groom suites are also exceptional and made getting ready such a special experience. We had more than enough room to relax with our bridal party, get ready comfortably, and truly enjoy those memorable pre-ceremony moments. But what truly set this venue apart, however, is the amazing staff. They were professional, easy to work with, and incredibly attentive throughout the entire process. From planning to the day of, they handled every detail with care and ensured everything ran as smoothly as possible, allowing us to fully enjoy each moment without stress. The experience, overall, was seamless from start to finish and we’ll never regret our decision to get married at Black River Barn. If you’re looking for a venue that’s not only breathtakingly beautiful but also creates an atmosphere that will leave you feeling like you never want the day to end, then this is it!

e staff were so kind and happy to answer our questions. They allowed us a second tour after we booked to plan our decorations and ask more questions. They were great at communication, especially leading up to the wedding with emails making sure we had everything and they had all the info to assist in making our wedding day perfect. The sound system was important to us, and EVERYONE could hear the speeches and the band’s songs played both inside and outside!! So many people told us afterward how beautiful and unique the space was! Nicole and Mackenzie were truly wonderful to work with. Their communication was clear, timely, and kind from the start. They were not only professional and organized, but they were genuinely excited for us—which made everything feel even more special. As a couple, we felt fully supported. From the moment we pulled into the lot, we instantly knew that this was our dream venue. The staff was the incredible. They helped us execute our entire vision without any hiccups. In fact, it was supposed to rain during our ceremony time, and they told me they would rearrange the chairs so they were under the roof instead of in the grass just hours before! Talk about service! Overall, BRB is in the most beautiful area with so much for your guests to do. I would recommend this venue to everyone!

I have been to hundreds of venues in my short lifetime and I can't name one venue that comes close to the level of support the BRB Team provides. Aside from an incredible team, the venue is absolutely stunning. The bridal suite and grooms lounge are incredibly spacious and perfect for getting ready. A full size kitchen is absolutely WONDERFUL (no worries with catering, they are well-taken care of!). Ample parking for guests and an incredible accessible space for your grandparents are MUCH appreciated. I cannot wait to work my next event at Black River Barn! Keep up the great work!

dy rooms are perfect for the soon-to-be newlyweds, with beautiful lighting, high end sound system, and designated bathrooms. The decor is tasteful and elegant with lots of natural lighting from the east--just lovely for getting ready photos. The staff are fantastic to work with. Nicole, Taylor and team are incredibly organized and somehow managed to be there and make sure everything was perfect but I barely saw them once. The space is gorgeous, indoors and out. The only potential downside is having to use their preferred caterers, but honestly I felt like it helped narrow an incredibly broad field. Would 100% recommend this location.

Every guest was awed by the beauty of this space, with its high raftered ceilings, gorgeous chandeliers, double-sided fireplace, dramatic outdoor fire pits, and unbeatable ambiance. Owners Nicole & her brother James Slott could not have been more attentive and helpful, assisting us in navigating the COVID crisis and the resulting change in our wedding dates. Their advice and calm presence was invaluable. Their expertise was always at the ready, whenever questions arose, and their communication with all parties was always excellent. Every detail of their facility has been carefully thought out and implemented: from the huge professional kitchen and restaurant quality bar, to the bride's suite - complete with beauty shop chairs and mirrors, perfect for getting ready on the big day - to the comfortable groom's suite, to the staircases ready for whatever dramatic entrance you might want to make. Even the restrooms and cloak room are top notch. The Black River Barn exudes class, and you can see where every penny spent has gone to elevate the wedding experience for both the happy couple and their guests. The Black River Barn delivered a perfect wedding day. We could not have been more happy with our experience there.

Ample, clean, well-stocked bathrooms. A large, spacious, well-lit Bridal suite. A cozy & quiet Groom suite. Multiple ceremony spaces & options. A large charming fireplace and outdoor fire-pits that were perfect for pictures. Beautiful and well-maintained grounds. Ample & well-lit parking. Multiple video screens and a large projector screen for photo slideshows and video. On-site sound & mics that made the ceremony a breeze. Every detail was thought of. If you are considering this venue for your wedding, book a tour. Seeing it in person will truly get across how impressive this place is, and what potential it has for your event.

We also loved the beautiful bridal and grooms suite + balcony/patio where we got ready with our wedding party (it was the only venue we had visited that had a grooms suite!). Covid restrictions definitely posed numerous obstacles to all of our wedding planning. Luckily, the owners of BRB were EXTREMELY flexible when we had to postpone our wedding date and very helpful in all of the planning. They were very easily reachable and answered all of our million questions throughout our wedding planning process. Due to covid restrictions we had to move the reception outside. BRB has a beautiful and spacious patio that allowed us to have a wedding better than we could have ever hoped for! We used the outdoor staircase for our grand entrance with the bridal party. We hung up many string lights and our DJ used uplighting on the surrounding forest backdrop. All of that in combination with the fire pits created a very warm, charming, romantic, and intimate atmosphere. We had numerous guests comment that it was the most beautiful wedding they had attended. BRB also have a very spacious kitchen that allowed our caterers to cook on site and provide delicious and warm dinner to our guests. We would 10/10 recommend choosing Black River Barn as a venue to celebrate your special day. The owners were truly one of the kindest vendors we had a pleasure of working with! ns for indoor events. We lucked out with finding BRB, which is a beautiful space that met all our needs. While they do have a large indoor space, we kept the wedding outdoors due to regulations. We had set up one tent for the ceremony and another two more for the cocktail hour and the live band/dance area respectively. BRB had more than enough outdoor space to accommodate our needs. They also had the most amazing suites for the bride and groom. Each of them was spacious with couches, a TV each and Bluetooth connection to built-in speakers. The bride’s suite had a station where the stylists could set up and help get everyone ready for the big day. The groom’s suite had a foosball table and an outdoor patio to relax as everyone was getting ready. We had the most special wedding and it was in big part due to BRR. Overall, this was an excellent space and we got numerous comments on how this was one of the most beautiful wedding venues our guests had attented.
