He got to know us to figure out our style and what we are looking for in a finished product. He worked with us on creating a package that worked for us and our wedding budget. He really tried to figure out who we are as a couple. I highly suggest doing the engagement shoot (we waited so long to do it but it was worth it) to feel comfortable working together on your big day. I received nothing but glowing feedback from our wedding party and guests. He had a great second shooter and helped keep us on our timeline. Justin was wonderful and professional from start to finish. We had a very specific vision for our first look and he did not hesitate to turn it into reality for us. Justin was so great to work with! We had such a blast having him with us all day and he really took his time to make sure we were having fun and deliver on some beautiful pictures! He was very easy to communicate with and helped us find the perfect mix of fun and memorable photos. We opted for 8 hours of coverage and a second shooter and he was able to get every shot we could have wanted. Stephanie, the second shooter he brought it, was also amazing and did a great job. 2020 was a difficult year for many reasons, but weddings were especially tough to make happen in this calendar year. But what made it even more difficult was having to plan 2 different weddings. The first being a 10 month planned wedding in Joshua Tree, California, until we had to cancel it due to COVID in November a month before it was supposed to happen. My now husband and I scrambled to reset for a smaller ceremony in Illinois instead to allow at least his family to attend and have it at his sister's home in Huntley, IL. We only had one month to reset. One of the most important things for us was photography, and although we had spent most of our savings on the cancelled wedding and we had no hope in recovering most of that back or even soon enough to help with the 2nd wedding, we knew we had to put forth the money and make the right choice for a photographer to document our day as best as possible so that our love ones who couldn't make it could experience that day through the right lens. Justin Vaughn of JVaughn Photography LLC was the right lens and so much more! He worked very closely with us via online google meetings, with a minor setback, which was we couldn't have an in person engagement photo session with him (since we were based in Wyoming and wouldn't arrive in Illinois until closer to the ceremony). Justin prefers to complete an engagement photo session, which comes already included in a lot of his packages, before the wedding to get to know us as a couple and make sure we get the shots we prefer. However even without the engagement session, through our online meetings, we were able to discuss who we are and Justin had that personal touch as though we were talking to an old friend. We established the narrative and story telling that we hoped to have for the day. Justin took detailed notes and had a list of shots to take for the day. But his improvisation and artistic eye was also excellent and he captured moments that we had never thought of that were so beautiful and amazing. In addition to the photography he also did minor videography to provide us a highlight reel, which was beyond what we expected! Throughout the day he was also very much a ninja in capturing the right moments beautifully without obstructing the views of guests present. I would recommend him for any photography need, he truly is an artist that captures the moments you wanted and so much more!

Justin was the photographer for my son's wedding in February. He did an outstanding job; very personable and accommodating. He made great suggestions for the photos and worked with us through every step (including multiple revisions to our Parents Album). I would highly recommend Justin for your next big or small occasion that you want to capture in photos.

We just had our wedding this past Friday, 8/21/20. Covid-19 created a lot of uncertainty on how things would turn out. But, there were 2 things that were certain. We were getting married and Justin was going to be there to capture it. Whether it was at the original venue, a boat, or in a tiny backyard. Justin's enthusiasm is so genuine and infectious. I had a ball with him around just waiting to take photos. Then when we started the joy never stopped. It never felt like we were completing a task, just enjoying life. When we hired JVaughn Photography we knew we were getting an amazing photographer but we had no idea we would be getting such an amazing person and friend out of it too! Justin is the absolute sweetest person we have had the honor of meeting and he has such a great eye to make our vision come to life! He made sure to have a meeting with us to get to know us and understand the vibe we wanted for our photos and he kept constant communication throughout the entire process to make sure all the bases were covered and he had a clear understanding of the timeframe and game plan. He was the one vendor we NEVER had to worry about. After he gave us our engagement photos, everyone knew he was the perfect photographer for us. Once the wedding day came, the entire bridal party and guests could not stop raving about how much they loved him! He gives clear direction on how to pose, what to do with your hands, how to fix your face, and knows how to use lighting. One of our biggest concerns when finding a photographer is having someone know how to use lighting because more often than not either I get lost in the light or my fiancé gets lost since our complexions are so far from each other. Thankfully Justin knew exactly how to make it all work out! He also stuck to the game plan and made sure none of those important shots are missed but he was also flexible enough to allow us to add in and change some of that game plan. I can honestly sit here and say that thanks to JVaughn Photography, our big day was absolutely perfect (even during covid). We already told him to get ready for our maternity photos, gender reveal, baby shower, and family portraits. I will forever recommend him to EVERYONE.
