Kindred Dance & Events — Wedding Dance Lessons for Any Love Story
Every love story has a rhythm. At Kindred Dance & Events, we help couples in Kansas City bring that rhythm to life through personalized wedding dance lessons that honor who you are — and how you love.
Whether you’re preparing for your first dance, choreographing a joyful wedding party entrance, planning a meaningful parent dance, or dreaming up a surprise flash mob, we create moments that feel real, not rehearsed.
Led by Kayla, a professional dancer, choreographer, and connection coach, Kindred is rooted in the belief that dance is more than steps — it’s energy, trust, and presence. Each private lesson is customized to your song, your style, and your comfort level. You’ll learn the technique, yes, but you’ll also learn to breathe together, move as one, and find ease in your own rhythm.
Our private wedding dance packages are perfect for all experience levels and timelines — from spontaneous crash courses to multi-week journeys that let your dance unfold naturally. Sessions are relaxed, encouraging, and full of laughter. You’ll leave not just with choreography, but with a deeper sense of connection and confidence that carries into your wedding day (and beyond).
Based in Kansas City, Missouri, Kindred serves couples across the metro area who want their wedding dance to feel as authentic and joyful as their love. From elegant and romantic to bold and unexpected, we’ll help you create a moment that feels truly yours — something unforgettable, grounded, and full of heart.
Your song is already written. Let’s bring it to life — one step, one smile, one song at a time.

Kayla was such a competent teacher who could cater her instruction to dancers at any level! The routine she taught us was such a hit at our wedding. I enjoyed working with her!
Kayla was super helpful and flexible in creating our first dance for our wedding! She was open to our thoughts and opinions on what we wanted and needed. She made sure my husband w...
as comfortable with the choreography, as he had very little dance experience going in. She also had tips overall for the wedding reception timeline and photography during the dance. She was thoughtful, professional, and fun to work with! I highly recommend her for anything dance related!
We initially got involved with Kayla to practice some poses for wedding pictures. In that initial lesson, she put our minds at ease, was SUPER patient with the both of us, and show...
ed us how we could piece together an elegant first dance. My husband and I are notoriously klutzy and have zero dance experience so we were apprehensive about even having a first dance. Kayla worked her magic and we had a dance put together in a few weeks! We can't say enough great things about our experience with Kayla!
Kayla is the best! If you are considering taking dance lessons in preparation for your big day, I can’t recommend her highly enough. She is so friendly, helpful and calming. She is...
an expert on any dance you can think of and can teach at any skill level.
My wife and I are not dancers, so we were a bit nervous about performing in front of everyone we know and love. Kayla not only helped us prepare a beautiful dance, but she also helped us figure out logistics of entries and exits from the dance floor. And also how to face toward the photographer to get the perfect shot of our final dip!
We got married in August 2021 and had so much fun learning to dance with Kayla that we have been doing weekly lessons ever since!
Kayla KILLED IT helping with my wedding dance! I’m a professional dancer myself so needless to say I unfairly expected a lot lol. But somehow she took my finance guy non-dancer hus...
band and me and made us look so so good!! We did a full on choreographed number and it came together so fast and so easy, and she knew exactly how to communicate with both of us so neither felt frustrated. She’s truly an expert! Not only did we dance, she also helped my husband organize a flash mob surprise for me by learning choreography off a tv series intro and teaching it to my wedding guests. Stop reading and just hire her!!
