I cannot recommend Big Apple Ballroom enough. We worked with Ema to prepare for our wedding first dance, and she was truly incredible. My husband had very little dance experience, ...
so finding the right instructor was important to us. Ema immediately understood our comfort level and capabilities while still choreographing something that felt fun, personal, and special to us as a couple.
She was endlessly patient as we learned, and her guidance and clear direction made the entire process feel approachable and enjoyable. By the time our wedding day arrived, we felt confident and excited instead of nervous. Our family and friends were so impressed by our first dance, and that is entirely thanks to Ema.
We are so grateful to Ema and Big Apple Ballroom for helping us create such a meaningful moment that we will remember forever. Thank you so much.
We had the absolute time taking dance lessons for our choreographed first dance at our wedding! Enxhi made us feel so comfortable. We have zero ballroom dance experience and she ha...
d us looking like pros! Our very own dancing with the stars haha. She broke down the choreography in an easy to understand way, and added so many beautiful moves and flourishes. We looked forward to the lessons so much! If you are on the fence about doing a choreographed first dance, do it. It was SO MUCH FUN, and it also relieved some stress that we had a plan going into the wedding for our first dance! We will remember this first dance for the rest of our lives and can't wait to take more lessons, even now that the wedding has passed! That's how much fun we had!
We worked with Enxhi at Big Apple Ballroom on creating a first dance for our wedding. Enxhi took the song 'Let's Do It' and created an over 3 minute routine. Every move was bespoke...
to the song and the dance was incredible. Over the course of about 12 weeks we met with Enxhi weekly to practice and perform. When there were parts that were harder for us, Enxhi worked to fix them. She also developed a dance for us and our parents (four people total) as another routine. These dances were definitely highlights of our wedding experience for both us and our guests. All of the staff at Big Apple Ballroom are friendly and fun and the resident dog makes it all the better. Definitely recommend!
We approached Big Apple Ballroom as non-dancers to get some basic choreography for our wedding first dance, but it quickly became so much more!
We came in once a week for several ...
weeks and learned the basics of a bunch of different ballroom dances. Then, once we figured out which dances we liked, we began working on the specific "first dance" choreography which felt less like a memorization exercise and more natural since we had already learned some fundamental moves. The Big Apple team also edited the song we were using to make it more user-friendly for our dance and the band.
We've continued dancing with Big Apple Ballroom weekly since our wedding. The team of instructors are all very fun, welcoming, and incredible teachers. The studio is bright with a great sound system. They also host great dance-related social events and we are considering doing some ballroom competitions with the team.
What a difference a few lessons make! Like many people, we were planning a wedding and we wanted to dance well to a couple songs. Michael was an amazing instructor, not only see pr...
ofessional, with decades of dancing under his belt, he put us at ease, his funny wit and humor helped us feel less awkward with our end up dance moves. The studio is immaculate and conveniently located near all subways.
Unfortunately, we did not get to work with Vanda because she was in Europe competing in an international dance competition.
I highly recommended Big Apple ballroom before you make your nuptials. It made the night much more fun, relaxing and great photos! Thank you Michael and the big apple ballroom!
Big Apple Ballroom helped us cheorgraph and learn our first wedding dance which was a hit!
