The Greatful Dane Lodge was created with one goal in mind: to provide couples with a magical destination experience while being surrounded by friends, family, and nature's beauty. Once you step onto our venue overlooking the majestic Mt. Sunapee, you will find a private and peaceful place where beautiful memories will be created. From the 1863 Post and Beam Barn and the elegant "Blu Bar" to the manicured grounds to the magnificent granite seating areas and fire pit, our guests will experience the feeling of yesteryear but with all of the amenities of the present. You and your guests will enjoy free reign of the property from Friday - Sunday to visit and celebrate with your family and friends and explore the wonders of the Sunapee region. Included in your stay is the use of the Plateau overlooking the mountainside as your ceremony spot, private the use of the barn's "Grand Hall" for your welcome event, for your rehearsal dinner space, and the farewell brunch, and the run of the grounds for recreational activities or to simply relax and unwind. There are accommodations for up to 18 guests for lodging, and we have a list of preferred vendors, from tent rentals to florists to caterers to photographers, that will make your day perfect! We at the Greatful Dane are also huge dog lovers, as our name attests, and we are a pet-friendly venue! We want to invite our guests to experience the magic on "the Hill" for themselves and immerse themselves in the wondrous beauty surrounding our property.

it would be the perfect backdrop for our winter wedding, especially with the additional Airbnb across the street. Being able to host our bridal party for an entire weekend was so special. Beyond that, Nicole gave some helpful recommendations for other vendors in the area and helped to coordinate communications with those people. Their space is extremely flexible, having two floors, each with its own bar, and the opportunity to have a ceremony and other events outside (firepit, too!) if the weather is right. The Greatful Dane Lodge was perfect for us, as an earthy but elegant and intimate weekend.

unication have been absolutely seamless. Nicole and Keith were incredibly responsive, warm, and knowledgeable, which made the whole process feel exciting rather than stressful.
The property itself is stunning! It's rustic, elegant, and tucked away in a location that feels peaceful and intimate. The barn is beautiful just on its own, they have decor that you can utilize without having to purchase anything else, which is AMAZING. During our showing, we were given all the time and space we needed to explore and envision our day. They walked us through every detail and were so accommodating with our ideas and questions.
It’s clear that they genuinely care about the couples they host, and that personalized attention makes all the difference. We already feel so confident that our big day is in the best hands, and we can’t wait to celebrate our wedding at such a special place. Highly, highly recommend!

so accommodating. They were kind, professional, and an invaluable asset to making our weekend run smoothly. The venue is beautiful and our guests especially loved the firepit and the upstairs hall. We booked for a full weekend at the Lodge, and our guests loved it! The venue is also handicap accessible, so our guests with mobility issues were able to join the celebration in every location.
It was also important to us to have a pet friendly venue as our cat, Ravioli, is a huge part of our lives and we wanted him to be present for the celebration on all three days. Ravioli getting to stay on site with us made the days extra special. I would highly recommend The Greatful Dane!
