We're so happy to have worked with Ali as our day-of wedding coordinator! She made everything much easier by managing communications with the hotel and handling logistics on the day of the wedding. She also participated in meetings with our other vendors, which made us feel more confident by knowing which questions to ask.
During the day of the wedding, she was so sweet and helped take pictures with our Polaroid camera. Most importantly, she worked well with everyone. Ali is the type of person who anticipates needs and does things without being asked, which is so important during a stressful event. We're so lucky to have found her, and I recommend her to anyone looking for a wedding coordinator.
I had the pleasure of working with Ali of Talwar Weddings & Events as a vendor for a wedding on July 11, and it was truly an outstanding experience from start to finish. Ali hired our team on behalf of the bride, and from our very first interaction, she was professional, organized, and incredibly clear with her expectations, requirements, and communication. That level of preparation made it easy for every vendor involved to do their job confidently and efficiently.
Ali is exceptionally detail-oriented and proactive. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, she provided comprehensive timelines, floor plans, vendor information, and all of the key logistics we needed well in advance. Because everything was communicated so thoroughly, there were very few questions on the wedding day, allowing everyone to focus on creating an amazing experience for the couple and their guests.
Throughout the event, Ali remained calm, approachable, and solution-oriented. Whenever last-minute requests or adjustments came up, we worked together seamlessly to find the best solutions while keeping the couple’s vision at the center of every decision. She has a collaborative leadership style that makes vendors feel like valued members of the team, which ultimately creates a better experience for everyone involved.
What stood out most was her genuine care for her clients and her commitment to excellence. She anticipated needs before they became issues, kept everyone on schedule without making the day feel rushed, and ensured every detail was executed beautifully. It’s clear that she is passionate about what she does, and that passion shows in the quality of her work.

I'm so happy you found Talwar Weddings & Events! I decided to pursue event planning full time after planning my own wedding and all the events surrounding it. I absolutely thrived getting to make spreadsheets, timelines, and creating other “type-A” forms of organization.
Before pivoting into event planning, I had a career in International Development where I worked in the Project Management Office at a non-profit. Thankfully, I have found many of those skills apply in this new space and now consider myself the “project manager” of your events!
I have been lucky to gain experience in the industry by assisting seasoned wedding planners in the area and by planning my friends’ weddings and birthdays. I have found such a passion in this career and find complete joy in working with all kinds of people to create their unique events!
Favorite hobbies: Binging a great TV show with my husband; Going on walks with friends in Rock Creek Park; Reading fantasy books; Biking, swimming, hiking, or even just sitting in the park on a nice day
Fun fact about me: I have lived in 13 different cities, largely because my parents were in the Navy. But I moved to Thailand for two years on my own while serving in the Peace Corps as an English Teacher!
