Sacred Salt Ceremonies is Dena Merlino Scott, an officiant in Wilmington, NC, and Wrightsville Beach that conducts weddings, unions, and right of passages. Dena blends her skills as a writer, public speaker, and rooted spiritualist to produce custom ceremonies. Uniquely, she offers the exceptional accompaniment of hand-crafting salt from our pristine oceans to use as part of your Salt Ceremony. There is ancient wisdom in this experience, and Dena looks forward to infusing your special day with additional meaning. Step 1 We will have an interview-style conversation in-person or virtual to discuss your event goals, vision, and everything special surrounding your ceremony, including the creation of your optional sacred salt. Step 2 Depending on the amount of customization in the ceremony you choose, Dena will prepare a first draft that encapsulates our conversation, which also opens us up to more questions, decisions, and development. For a Tried and True Ceremony, you will be ready to go at this point! Step 3 Based on your feedback and our development, usually within two rounds, you will have a finalized custom ceremony that expresses your intentions and formal transcendence. SALT CEREMONY For the sacred salt harvest, I can gather it for you on an auspicious date, or we can meet at the beach, and with additional ceremony, the happy couple can gather the water for me to make the salt. Dena will then medically-grade filter the water using heat-evaporation, leaving only fine sea salt blessed with intentions. For your wedding, we will use the salt to express your union, a "salt covenant", and you will have the sacred salt to commemorate the blessed experience. Dena is willing to provide sacred salt for your event if you have another Officiant, as well as can conduct a variety of salt ceremonies including engagements; please contact her to start the conversation! Dena has 10+ years' experience presiding over weddings, funerals, baptisms/naming ceremonies, and other blessings.
