Based in Pataskala, Ohio, Cattywampus Camera provides wedding and event photography throughout Central and Eastern Ohio. My approach is documentary-inspired, with an emphasis on genuine emotion, thoughtful composition, and the moments that happen naturally when no one is thinking about the camera. A wedding day is made up of far more than the ceremony itself. It's the nervous excitement beforehand, family and friends seeing each other for the first time, the quiet moments between you and your partner, the unexpected laughter, and everything that happens once the celebration gets underway. My goal is to preserve those moments honestly so your photographs bring you back to not only how your day looked, but how it felt. Before becoming a professional photographer, I spent 18 years serving in the United States Air Force, where preparation, attention to detail, and adapting when plans change were simply part of the job. Those qualities now shape the way I approach photography, especially on wedding days when schedules change, weather happens, and some of the best photographs can't be planned in advance. My experience behind the camera also includes live performances, festivals, wildlife, landscapes, severe weather, and other fast-moving situations where timing and anticipating what happens next matter. That experience has helped shape the way I photograph weddings: I pay attention to what's happening around me and look for the expressions, interactions, and small details that help tell the complete story. I photograph celebrations of all sizes and can provide coverage throughout your wedding journey, including proposals, engagement parties and sessions, bridal and wedding showers, rehearsal dinners, traditional weddings, intimate weddings and elopements, courthouse ceremonies, receptions, and vow renewals. Whether you need photography for a two-hour ceremony, an all-day wedding, or one of the celebrations leading up to it, coverage can be tailored to the time and events that matter to you. Every couple and every wedding is different. I don't believe your photographs should look like they came from a template.
