e were blown away by their talent. Our guests were on the dance floor all night and we never wanted it to end. Renee was so much help throughout the entire wedding process. SO many of our guests reached out to know who our band was. If you're considering booking them, DO IT!

harismatic integration with the crowd. At the farewell breakfast the following morning, all anyone could talk about was Shaded Soul. Multiple guests even asked me for Renee's contact information so that they could try to book Shaded Soul for their own weddings or other events. In the months prior to their incredible performance at our wedding, we worked closely with Renee, which could not have been easier or more of a pleasure...we already miss chatting with her! What truly makes her and Shaded Soul great is their devotion to making sure that you get everything you imagined (and more), down to the very last and minute detail. Renee promptly responded with answers to all of our many questions and requests as they came up, with grace and charm, always willing to call us or join a last-minute zoom when email/text were not suitable. No question was too silly and every request, for which we had a number of, was met with a "yes", no matter how particular or specialized they were. Shaded Soul did not just accommodate our song requests, some of which they learned specifically for us, beautifully into the setlist for the masterful performance. They also turned a small dream of ours into a reality, which was for me (groom) to join the band on guitar for my wife's dance with her father. They learned a very specific cover version of the song we wanted, and Renee met with me several times to go over the arrangement and the parts I would play. As an amateur musician who has never performed for an audience before, I was nervous a few days before the wedding and called Renee. She answered immediately and let me play my guitar parts over the phone for her, where she assured me it sounded great but also noted with her sharp ears that my guitar tuning was not in key with the song! On the wedding day, I simply showed up with my guitar and gave it to Shaded Soul's audio-tech. A few hours later when it was time for the father-daughter dance, my guitar was finely re-tuned and plugged-in with the band. It went perfectly and was without a doubt one of the best experiences of our lives, all thanks to Renee and Shaded Soul. There are countless examples from the day of the wedding, and prior, we could share to further illustrate the wonderful experience Shaded Soul was. One of the crowd favorites was, towards the end of the night as Shaded Soul was packing up, when my friends forced me onto the stage where my guitar was still plugged in and made me play. In a panic, I started playing "Enter Sandman" by Metallica when all of the sudden, Shaded Soul's drummer (who by the way, may be a musical prodigy) went back to her kit and started playing along perfectly with the song! It was a surprise to everyone and got the dance floor completely re-ignited for one last bang to close out the night. We transitioned into "Back In Black" by AC/DC and what is truly great is that, even though it was after-hours for the band and venue, all eight musicians and the audio-tech stopped packing up and let this spontaneous event happen. In short, Renee and Shaded Soul were the perfect choice and, looking back, we can't imagine the wedding with anyone else. They are a big reason, if not the biggest, why the wedding was the amazing night that we will never forget.

the catering staff, who had served at many events were saying how great they are. The dance floor was always full of our guest having the greatest time to the great music they played. The musicians are top and the vocals are incredible. The song they learned for our wedding was "The Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts...I love Rascal Flatts but JJ's rendition was better! To top it off there is Renee, the leader of Shaded Soul. All the members of the band are great people but she incredible! She has a lot of experience at weddings and gave us a few great tips during the event that help make it the best day ever. Definitely a 10 out of 5 stars!!!

was huge for me because a lot of wedding bands these days have multiple bands under their umbrella with multiple studio musicians switching in and out of the different bands based on their schedules and location which is something we did not want to deal with - we wanted to know the band we hired was going to be who we expected and not a random vocalist the day of. Needless to day, Shaded Soul Band was amazing! Renee was so easy to coordinate with, was flexible to meet our needs and requests, and genuinely cared about making sure we had the wedding vibe we wanted - which was everyone moving and shaking. We focused on motown, soul, groove songs, and a few pop songs to keep all the generations dancing all night. To give you an idea, for the "light dinner music" aka some soft yacht rock, half of our guests got up and started dancing - it wasn't even supposed to be time for dancing but our aunts and uncles couldn't help but get up and dance after they finished their salads and were waiting for their main courses LOL. Renee is a great emcee and a true professional, you can tell she has been doing this for years and has all the queues and routine down to a T. The vocalists were unreal and the rest of the band was just as good. We have a lot of friends and family who are musicians who were all very impressed by our band selection and many people said it was the best wedding band they'd ever seen at a wedding! The music flowed, the energy was high, and it was just a perfect night with The Shaded Soul Band bringing the heat! Thank you to the band for making it a night to remember!

The silky voices of Adrienne, Christina and JJ and the multi talented musicians kept us going all day long. Guests and waitstaff said they had never heard such great music at a wedding. This is one of the best bands you can select for any type of event, their backgrounds are extensive and their talents can not be put into words on this page, you must experience them. Renee spoke with us like we were real people, had endless tips and tricks for planning a fantastic reception, and didn't nickel and dime us for every extra note sung or string strummed. Renee and Shaded Soul provided music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. They accommodated our friends acoustic guitar number during the ceremony, played playlists we had put together during times they weren't playing, but when it came time to play the right song to keep everyone on the dance floor, we left it to the band and they made all the right choices.... we saved money on booze because no one would take a break from dancing to go to the bar! The musicianship of this band is top notch, they are all masters of their crafts and unlike many other wedding bands they have clearly been playing together for years. No rotating through a roster of musicians, booking the band under the same name at multiple events in one night, just a group of talented players with a deep repertoire whose passion is getting people to dance and have a great time. A huge thanks to Renee and Shaded Soul Band for helping make our wedding the best night of our lives!

o Beach and Tennis Club. Renee, the bandleader, was so sweet, understanding, professional, and easy to work with. As a same-sex couple, we had some concerns about finding vendors who would be inclusive, but Renee truly treated us like family. We had some unorthodox plans for our wedding, including a group sing-along during the ceremony, and Renee could not have been more enthusiastic about bringing our vision to life. Shaded Soul Band provided music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, and they were FANTASTIC! The music sounded so good, the musicians were so talented and kind, and their energy kept us on cloud nine all night long. Renee was an excellent MC, and kept the evening running smoothly. We got so many comments about how good the band sounded, and the dance floor was packed all night long. Dancing with my wife for our first dance to Harvest Moon, tearing up the dance floor to Play That Funky Music, and the conga line to Love Train are all precious memories that will stay with me forever. Hire this band!!!

I will also add that no one complained that they were TOO loud, which is always a concern for an indoor wedding with many older guests. The volume and balance was perfect. There is some serious talent in the group-- horns, rhythm, and vocals. They were also very professional. Renee, the band leader, was super accommodating and detail-oriented with our special requests which included various musical guest performances including the bride, and fathers of the bride and groom. It made for a very special and memorable musical evening. 10/10 would recommend for your wedding, party, or any function that will get you dancing.

It wasn't just the fact that her song recommendations, many of which we used, and her knowledge of music is top level, the help she provided in arranging the entire ceremony was priceless. I hired SSB to play during the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. My referrer promised me Reneé and the rest of the SSB are extremely talented and would "bring the energy" to our event, and they absolutely did! My guests thoroughly enjoyed the music and were sure to tell me that throughout the evening. I am Jewish so it was important that we danced The Hora during the reception. Reneé not only incorporated this tradition, but she was able to sing it in Hebrew! It was absolutely one of the highlights of the evening. Reneé and the rest of the SSB were also able to learn 2-3 songs we requested outside of their usual repertoire. The songs they learned specifically for us sounded like they'd been playing them for years. We really appreciated that! Aside from the band's talent, Reneé is a great person and made the entire process extremely easy. We absolutely recommend her and the rest of the SSB to anyone looking for a wedding band. We also look forward to attending their Summer concerts to hear them play outside of "wedding season"!

10 seconds of hearing them play we knew we had to book them. They sounded amazing! Renee, the band leader, was so easy to work with and so professional. Renee went above and beyond. She would call every so often to check in and see how we were doing with wedding planning. And when we had to postpone our wedding because of Covid, we got a ‘not a problem’ and the change was made. It was seamless. The day of the wedding the band started playing and everyone was on the dance floor. They were the talk of the wedding. People even continued to talk about how good they were the day after. It was non stop dancing as soon as they started playing. The music is one of the big things guests like to judge and the Shaded Soul Band had our guests wishing they booked this band for their weddings. They were a huge hit amongst our older and younger guests. I honestly can’t recommend them enough. If you want to have the best music for your wedding, book the Shaded Soul Band!

d accommodating since day 1. My fiancé and I got a chance to listen to Shaded Soul at an outdoor event in the summer of 2019. WOW! These guys were incredible. They had the crowed up and dancing and the music was incredible- not to mention the instruments and their voices. We booked them there and then. Our wedding was scheduled for 6/2020 but had to be rescheduled to 6/21 due to COVID. Before rescheduling, Renee reached out to us early on in March to see how we were doing and to let us know she would help us if we needed to reschedule. It was so nice to have a vendor personally call to see how we were and to just talk about our options. I would use Renee for another even in a heartbeat. We need more people like this in the world. Kind, compassionate people who care about their customers.

As a musician and music lover, I put a lot of time selected songs I wanted from their website repertoire, and I even politely asked Renee and the band to learn a few that were not in their repertoire. They absolutely delivered, and made our wedding the magical, insanely fun experience it was. I even got to sit in on trumpet with them, and the saxophone player and I were nailing some horn section parts before I took a trumpet solo. Shaded Soul Band are very reasonably priced, but most importantly, they really turned our wedding experience into one for the books. All of our guests came up to us and could not get over how amazing our band was. I would recommend Shaded Soul Band to any future bride and grooms looking for a band. Having a band was so important to us, as a DJ jsut can't capture the same energy and magic, and Shaded Soul are the perfect wedding band. Their band-leader and keyboard player, Renee, is lively, energetic, charismatic, and even raps! Their singers are all fantastic, particularly Adrian, who has incredible range and power. The sax player is incredible, as is the bassist. Really, all 8 of them are amazingly talented musicians. I actually plan to see them again a future shows of theirs, they are THAT good. You should all definitely book them for your wedding or event.

forgot them. My son's wedding was this summer, he and his bride were looking for a band, and I said Shaded Soul was the one. Renee was wonderful to work with, even arranging for a last minute back-up for a band member who had a medical emergency. The band performs classic standards, to blues, jazz, pop, and current hits. Everyone was dancing from the bride's grandmother to the flower girls. Each musician and each singer are absolute knockouts! And, Renee remembered and saved the last song for me . . . At Last.
