DJ Derek Romanoff

We booked DJ Derek after hearing him at another close friends wedding so the choice was really easy. He did a great job for them and an amazing job for us as well. Our idea of what we wanted to hear was very different from theirs but he went out of his way to have multiple calls with us and walk us through his song selection software to make sure we had everything he wanted. He also helped with formulating our timeline and during the party he did an awesome job of feeling the room and knowing when to get the party started and what songs to do it with. I would recommend Derek to anyone getting married!

DJ Derek Romanoff is amazing! He was super responsive to our initial questions (honestly why we chose him, we wanted a DJ that wanted to be our DJ). He was fantastic the day of - to be honest we forget to include my husband's dad and significant other during introductions and when they lined up we panicked. Derek seamlessly added them to our introduction to the point nobody knew this happened. He had our friends dancing the entire night and everybody raved about how much fun they had. We highly recommend Derek, he's such a professional and we can't thank him enough for making our wedding go off without a hitch!

Derek is by far the best DJ I could have wished for! He was so helpful and responsive during the planning process, and has a website that makes it incredibly easy to listen to songs and pick them. Derek has so many helpful suggestions and pays attention to every detail. And his speaking voice is perfect for a DJ! Derek's sound equipment is top quality, and he is very skilled at blending songs together and reading the crowd. Our guests loved him, not just his DJ skills but his personality as well. At the end of the night, I could not get my father to leave the reception, he just wanted to stay and talk to Derek! Derek is very skilled and wonderful, I would absolutely recommend him as your DJ!

We were so impressed with Derek Romanoff. From our first meeting with him, we knew he was a great choice. Derek is very professional, responsive, and flexible. On the day of the wedding, once the dancing started, it never stopped. I'm still getting compliments from guests telling me what a great DJ we had and where did we find him. We had so much fun, thank you!

We are so thankful that we had DJ Derek Romanoff as our wedding DJ. From the first time we met with Derek, we knew that he would pull together an amazing celebration for us. Derek has great attention to detail, an understanding of the crowd, and the perfect energy to set the mood for the evening. One of the many times I was amazed by Derek’s attention to detail happened during the father of the groom’s speech, where the lyrics of Forever Young were quoted, and then right after the speech concluded, Derek played that song! It made for a very special moment. I also appreciated how accommodating he was no only to the guests, but also to the other vendors. All of our guests got on the dance floor thanks to Derek and they stayed on the dance floor all night. We received numerous compliments from our guests on Derek’s work. We would highly recommend Derek to any of our friends as he has an awesome personality, amazing client service focus, and a genuine love for his work.

Derek was the DJ for our wedding on 9/17/16 and was absolutely fantastic! He kept every guest on the dance floor the whole night. Aside from his amazing skill of keeping the party going, Derek was a pleasure to plan with and had so many helpful tips. He also went above and beyond by driving my husband and I back to our hotel at the end of the wedding, when we realized we had no way to get back! All in all, DJ Derek is amazing, and you will not be disappointed if you have him at any event!

DJ Derek is responsive, knowledgeable, and talented. He is both very professional - with high quality equipment and an extensive music selection - and personable, and he is truly focused on making your wedding day special for you, music and beyond. He provided us with useful guidance not only on music-related choices but also on other elements of wedding planning. In the stress of planning, I found him reassuring and patient. And his services on the wedding day were excellent!!

Derek was able to provide all the songs we requested. He played a good mix of music throughout the evening; we did not tell him what to play except for special songs/events. He was a good master of ceremony, keeping the wedding flowing smoothly. His website was easy to use and walked us through everything and reminded us of things we did not think about planning. Derek was very flexible and accommodating when our venue restricted the time in which he was able to set up. He was very professional and made suggestions throughout the evening to help keep activities on a good pace, time-wise. He is great to deal with and did an amazing job with our wedding.

We used Derek Romanoff for our reception music and our lighting at the reception for our 9/27/2014 wedding at the Hotel Monaco in Alexandria, VA. He came highly recommended from our planner, Lindsey Farrell with Kelley Cannon Events and we were not disappointed. Derek was a pleasure to work with, he was professional and fun and was exactly the type of DJ we wanted. During the planning stage of the wedding he was extremely helpful with a request website were we could request songs that we wanted to be played, and songs that we didn't want to be played (extremely important). When the software wasn't working for my husband and I Derek was responsive and worked out a different solution so we could still request songs (up until the day-of our wedding!). The lighting we chose was a soft pink lighting and it was perfect with our reception decor, not to bright, but still gave the room the perfect look. The reception was a blast and Derek had the dance floor filled the entire night. I literally didn't sit down once the music started. Everyone had an amazing time and they are still talking about how much fun they had dancing the entire night! Overall: Derek was an amazing DJ, he was the perfect DJ for someone who does not want a hype-man at there wedding, but still wants someone who can read the room and know when to put on a fast song, a classic dance song, or a slow song. I would recommend him to anyone needing a great DJ!

We had an amazing experience with DJ Derek Romanoff at our 8/17/13 wedding. I cannot thank him enough for helping make our wedding such a success. From our first phone call to Derek, he was so polite and responsive, always getting back to me within 24 hours or less. We had many special requests for our wedding, as my father was going to be singing live for our first dance, which Derek willingly accommodated without hesitation. His online planning tool was easy to use and a great way to establish what songs we did and did not want to hear. Our guests raved about the music!!! Our dance floor was packed from the moment people finished their meals, until the final song played. We kept hearing how much fun everyone had, which a testament to DJ Derek’s ability to read to crowd and play songs that will keep the energy level high. Overall, I know our wedding was flawless due to DJ Derek Romanoff’s organization, flexibility, and talent. I would highly recommend his services to any perspective bride’s and groom’s. He is simply the best!

Derek is great, very well organized and really gets the party going. My husband and I met and got together & danced the night away at a friends wedding so we had to use him on our wedding day too as we'd had such wonderful memories of all the dancing - he did not fail to impress on our day either! DJ Derek helped to make our wedding reception an amazing and memorable night!!! He was extremely helpful throughout the entire planning process, always professional and always available via phone or email to answer questions. His online planning tool was great and allowed us to give play lists as well as a timeline of events. We only provided a few songs in order to give Derek a sense of the music we wanted and he did an amazing job in choosing great songs to keep everyone dancing! He kept us on track in terms of our timeline while also remaining flexible to meet our needs. Overall, DJ Derek Romanoff was a wonderful additional to our wedding reception and I would recommend him to everyone!

Derek is excellent at what he does. He had a lot of input and ideas for us to consider when it came to schedule which we really appreciated since he's worked at our venue many times and obviously attended many a wedding. Derek is especially responsive and did a good job of trying to keep us on schedule but not at the expense of our enjoyment of the day (i.e. he let us know we were a little behind while walking around visiting guests during dinner but let us decide if we wanted to try and get back on schedule). His music website is so great and easy to use, I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a professional DJ with a lot of experience and an easy to work with manner.

I can't say enough good things about Derek! He was FANTASTIC! We never met him in person before our event and many of our friends thought we were crazy, but we definitely made the right choice. Derek did everything he could to meet our requests and be flexible and available. We had some issues with our location letting him in at the time he needed to get there without walking through the ceremony but he accommodated and made it work without it costing us too much extra. He always responded to emails within 24 hours (usually even less than that!) and was always available on the phone. It felt like he knew us with the music he chose even though he didn't know us and kept people on the floor dancing ALL night! You won't be disappointed if you use Derek!

Not only was Derek a great DJ with an awesome music selection, a very helpful online planning tool, and a ton of great experience... he is genuinely a nice guy. He was willing to go above and beyond the call of duty to be not only the DJ, but to ensure that things kept moving during the wedding, to make sure all the vendors were in order (if needed) and checked in with us regularly throughout the night to make sure that things were OK. In addition, his DJ skills were great. Great music, willing to find or take anything, and very flexible. We had snow on our wedding day (in OCTOBER in DC!!!!), and he was able to bring extra speakers and pipe music into 3 different rooms (one for the cocktail hour, outside for the first dances, and into the room where the dancing took place. The speakers were bumping and everyone in our wedding was up and moving. I would highly recommend Derek to anyone looking for a DJ and would have any of my friends or family use him without reservation. His rates are good and the service goes with it. Thanks Derek for being there for our special day.

I cannot say enough great things about Derek Romanoff. We first met him when he deejayed my sister's wedding in June 2010 and we knew as soon as we were engaged that Derek was one of the first vendors we needed to contact. His energy is incredible. He really knows how to keep a dance floor packed. He is incredibly professional and his appearance is never short of impeccable. He has the perfect amount of personality and worked with our coordinator to make the timeline and flow of the evening flawless. His online planning service made selecting our music easy and painless. We gave him a small list of songs that we wanted to hear during different portions of the evening (cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing) and he filled in the rest. He has an amazing talent for playing what the people want to hear and keeping the guests entertained. I really just cannot say in words how happy we were with our wedding and how big of an impact Derek had on that outcome. We have recommended him to several friends, who have hired him happily, and will continue to spread the word about what an amazing DJ (and person) Derek is.

Derek did an amazing job with keeping the dance floor busy. We planned out the music for the ceremony and had a few songs we wanted played but he did the rest. Everything was perfect.

DJ Derek was extremely professional and so nice to work with! He was rated one of the top DJ's with Bialex's Music, which is who i booked him through. He has an excellent collection on music to look through and knows exactly how to keep the party going and the dance floor full! I was able to sit and eat my dinner but the rest of the evening I danced the night away! Myself and my guests had an amazing time!! There was not a dull moment and with the songs we picked and the playlist Derek created made for a wonderful evening!! If i could have my wedding again I WOULD!!! Thank you so much Derek it was a magical, amazing, unforgettable evening.
