araa Lodge exceeded our expectations. We were lucky enough to book out the lodge so the wedding party and family could stay in the lodge. All of the communication from the lodge, from event planner Beth to front office Tobi, were always on-time and friendly. The Lodge made everything flawless as we were all right on site! The salon they have in the basement for me the bride and people to get ready was so perfect! Honestly, the reason our wedding was so successful was because of Taharaa Lodge. From the perfect Ceremony, to the wonderful cocktail hour, the amazingly prepared food at the reception, everything went so well. As the bride, I never felt overwhelmed with anything that had to do with the venue, and that was really nice. I didnt have to worry about rooms, where people were staying, food, drinks, organizing, ect. It was just the best day and most of that was due to Taharaa Lodge. Cannot recommend them enough.

Majority of our guests weren't from Colorado, so we wanted something enchanting and beautiful to help our friends and family fall in love with this state too. We're so fortunate to be surrounded by so much beauty. We knew we wanted to get married at St Catherine's Chapel on the Rock, so Taharra was certainly a convenient location for that. Although you might have to decide who'd be staying at the Lodge if you're planning a larger wedding, I'd 100% buy the lodge out. I absolutely loved working with Beth. And Vikki was such great help, especially during the weekend and having guests locking themselves out of their rooms! The only thing I wish we did, was stay a night before the rehearsal so we could have actually use the sauna and Jacuzzi.

The whole lodge was bought out by our guests, so it was so fun to be around our loved ones! The issue was, on Sunday after the wedding and check-out, we heard our guest’s experiences with lodging. First, it appears that the plumbing did not work (looking at past reviews, this seems to be an ongoing issue with the property). Two room’s did not have water from the shower. These guests had to use other people’s shower’s (which ended up being 4 people to a shower). My sister-in-law’s toilet would not flush at all. These issues would have been frustrating enough, but what really was tough was how it was handled by management. When my father-in-law approached the manager, she told him to use a plunger, and when he told her that was not working, she told him there was nothing they could do about it and walked away. Also, when guests were checking in, she seemed flustered and made them wait until there was a larger group to do a check-in. If she was kinder about it, it wouldn’t have been an issue, but for my uncles, she made them stand outside, not giving water or the code to go inside, which at 85-90 degree sunny weather was unnecessary. Lastly, when my husband and I checked in, she told me I could have my breakfast in the bridal suite. I told my bridesmaids staying at the property that I would have a scrummy breakfast for them, but if they wanted to eat their breakfast from Taharaa they could eat it in the bridal suite. One of my bridesmaids tried to do this, was yelled at, and so my bridesmaids had to eat in the dining hall area, which separated the group and pushed back my hair and makeup artist’s schedule. It just seemed unnecessary for so many of my guests to be treated rudely. To be clear, I had none of these issues (I was treated very respectfully), but almost everyone approached Matt and I with a story they experienced. This reflects poorly on my husband and I. We had the most perfect wedding in such a beautiful area, so I would strongly recommend getting married at Taharaa and working with Beth (she was very professional and everyone loved the food–not always the case with weddings; 5/5 recommendation), but until they fix some of the plumbing and hospitality aspects, I would not recommend having guests stay in their lodging (Except for their honeymoon suite, this was a very lovely room; we would give them a 2.5/5 review for lodging). As an aside, we were told we could not hear cars at the ceremony site. Our ceremony was so lovely and beautiful, but if future couples are wondering the same question, you can very clearly hear the passing cars. Nothing we could do about it, but just wanted to let y’all know!

Made to order from a menu of items breakfast each morning, coffee outside your door waiting for you, and attentive housekeeping staff. The views and rooms are amazing. I wish I could give them 5 stars because the majority of the staff and experience deserve it, however I feel it wouldn't be an accurate representation of the whole experience. We had several issues over the process of planning our wedding there with their head coordinator Kathy. Our communication with her was often confusing. She had clauses left in our contract we signed that she then went back on stating she forgot to change that detail or take it out; insisting on implementing the "corrected" items. We submitted our bar menu to her and the secondary coordinator had no record of it when we arrived on our wedding weekend. The secondary coordinator we dealt with during our wedding weekend was amazing! I'm sorry I don't remember her name but we wished she was who we planned with from the very beginning. She made things very easy and smooth for us. Kathy was not there on our wedding weekend, thankfully. The other issue we had was with our male bartender employed with Taharaa. I have had several family members tell me after our wedding weekend that he was very rude and/or abrupt with them. My parents and best friend surprised us with our dog being the theme at the bar. Stir sticks with his face on top and drink toppers with either his face or our initials logo. The male bartender refused to include these items in our guests drinks. The female bartender had no issue with this and tried to put them in our guests drinks but the male bartender told her to stop. My parents were hurt over this after the planning and money they put into this special small detail. We did not have a large guest count so I don't feel it should have been such a big deal to take a couple seconds each drink to include these items. It's not like we had super long lines of people wearing for drinks throughout the night. Overall though I would choose this venue again and despite this I would still recommend choosing this venue. The pros outweigh the cons!

Their coordinator makes everything so easy. The views are stunning and the bistro/cafe lights for ambience are included as well. Very little is needed other than a few center pieces. Our wedding day was everything we could have dreamed of and it was mostly thanks to this incredible venue and team!

Vicky, the lodge manager, was so helpful with everything from accommodating for off-hours check-ins, any and all room needs, and of course, cooking delicious handmade breakfast every morning! Kathy, the event coordinator, was just awesome to work with. She truly made the wedding planning process easier and less stressful. She was communicative, detail oriented, and always willing to hop on a call or set up a meeting for wedding planning details. Her expertise in this field really came to light throughout our wedding planning process, and it was very much appreciated. The Twin Owls Steakhouse staff was professional and helpful, and the food is amazing! We got so many compliments on our wedding food Sandra, the owner, made my husband and I feel so comforted from the get go. It’s clear that she cares deeply about her guests’ experiences, and will do everything she can to make your stay, your event, or whatever it is exactly what you had imagined! helpful and kind to the wedding party and all of my guest. The food was so good, we highly recommend the "Elk Bites"! We were able to get ready on site and since the Honeymoon Suite was not ready, we were able to get ready in the beautiful Bridal Suite. We were worried about being outside on the patio for the reception, as the weather was beginning to cool, but it was perfect, they made sure we were comfortable and warm. I would highly recommend this location. We will certainly be back in the future to celebrate anniversaries!

could have them preserved the next day. The cake Vikki made was perfect, very simple vanilla cake with some blackberries as garnish. The area with the wedding pergola was beautiful. It wasn’t far from the lodge but it was tucked away from the hustle and bustle. Vikki even took my father up to the pergola with a golf cart the day of the wedding, as it was painful for him to walk. Communication was great, I would receive a response within 48hrs. The twin owls was fantastic. The food was great and our server was top notch as she gave lots of recommendations. Also, killer breakfast included with your stay at the lodge. I would highly recommend this as a wedding venue for weddings under 100 people.

Secondly, the excellent service the day of the reception. Servers and staff were amazing and they were so wonderful to my family. So helpful and supportive all the way through breakdown of the decorations and leaving. My sister (a chef) RAVED about the food at Taharaa. Chicken was moist, bison was tender, everything delicious! Lastly, the space itself. Taharaa is nestled into the Rockies, but it looks like it’s a apart of the scenery. Our wedding could not have been more beautiful thanks to the ceremony space. The outdoor pergola was perfect for our little wedding and the weather held out until after the ceremony. My husband and I were so impressed with the attention to detail all around. Thank you so much again, Taharaa! We will definitely be back for anniversaries.

MANY emails in a timely manner, which is HUGE for a crazy bride! Kathy listened to all of my requests/questions and helped with all of the details! She also helped with the rehearsal and set up our dessert table so nicely for the reception! Kathy had the reception room ready to go right when we were allowed to set up, which was so nice and kept us on schedule! The venue was gorgeous! The new bridal suite was also really nice to get ready in! However, it was warm in there, so turn the AC on ASAP. Great views inside and out! The food was also really good, and the bartender was amazing! Wedding itself: no complaints! I would give them 5/5! However, the hotel staff there was just rude and impacted my experience. They did not make my family and guests feel welcomed and made them feel like they did something wrong when they just got there. This was embarrassing and such a disappointment for me, as I wanted my guests to enjoy their time after traveling from around the country. Warning: the hotel will NOT let you check in early and takes their time when checking you in. So, make sure you schedule your rehearsal time accordingly because this was a big frustration for me. Overall, great place to have a wedding, but not a welcoming place to have your guests stay.

The entire process of planning this wedding, including the stress of Covid restrictions, became pretty effortless under the calm, warm, and organized demeanor of Sandra Huerta, the proprietor and owner. This lady is unflappable! So grateful. Our daughter and her fiancee hoped for a day with beautiful multi-course food, spectacular flowers and candlelight ambience, and live jazz music. Taharaa managed all the details to perfection. We had six different vendors coordinating with their in-house staff for an unforgettable evening. Every request we made was accommodated. The food is a real star at Taharaa! Chef Rich has extensive experience with wedding fare. He was delighted to work with us to create a unique menu for our guests with seasonal and regional offerings throughout the evening. The house bartender created 5 lovely signature cocktails for the evening including a delicious non-alcoholic mocktail for our teetotaler friends and underage drinkers. Our reception was a classy celebration of love and life, in a very disappointing year. For that night, we forgot about Covid, and enjoyed an intimate evening swimming in beauty and joy! Taharaa and their gracious staff were always responsive, thoughtful, and courteous. Cannot recommend them enough for one of a kind, memory making events. Thank you, Taharaa! It really was perfect.

Sandra and Thad were very responsive during our frantic process of re-planning, and couldn't have been more helpful on the big day. The views from the event room were breathtaking, the staff was great, and the local beer options added a really nice touch since we both love Colorado breweries. Taharaa was better than we could have imagined, and looking back we are so glad that everything worked out the way that it did!

I loved that the ceremony site was a walk across the parking lot from the reception hall, and there were views of RMNP from the reception deck. If we were to get married again we would absolutely chose Taharaa all over again, and we hope to be back to celebrate anniversaries!

ut very functional for having an indoor or outdoor wedding depending on the weather. Both the indoor and outdoor options are beautiful, and our guests were so impressed by the venue! There are several areas to accommodate anything you want to add to your reception or ceremony. For example: we had a photo booth and a couple of lawn games, which fit in perfectly without compromising the space for the dance floor. We had 80 people at our wedding, and the venue worked perfectly, but it would definitely be great for >100 or <50 people as well! Metta and Terisa were seriously incredible. Our day went without any hitches due to their organization and help. From day one, they have been so friendly and responsive in answering all of our questions and accommodating all of our requests. They held a walk-through with us and also coordinated our rehearsal so make sure every detail was covered and that everything went perfectly. Additionally, they acted as day of coordinators and did a fantastic job. We were planning from a different state, and they made that process very easy. They are definitely experts in this area, and have thought of every detail possible. They did a wonderful job also of coordinating with our vendors to make sure everything went smoothly. They are both incredibly friendly and are a calm and organized presence throughout the process of wedding planning. Additionally, we stayed at Taharaa the night of our wedding, and the room was incredible! To top everything off, the breakfast was SO good too! I could not recommend this venue more highly!!

beyond for us to help us create the wedding of our dreams. We were really looking to have a laid back mountain wedding with our friends and family and that is exactly what we got. The venue is incredible with gorgeous views and with the option to book the rooms for our family and friends it just made it feel like one big home. We had a really low key wedding and actually did not do a lot of the "traditional" stuff that weddings and receptions often have and their staff embraced that with us, which I really appreciated. Also, they did so many things to make us feel relaxed and really special leading up to the big day and especially on the big day. Breakfast is delicious every morning and the happy hours were great as well. It was everything we were hoping for and so much more! We are already talking about going back to visit soon! Thank you Metta, Josh, Terisa, and Thom- you guys are amazing!!
