You have a love story, and storytelling with my camera is my passion. I'm Brett Deutsch, and I've been a wedding photographer in New York City for over fifteen years. I'll capture the joy, the jitters, the shared moments, the beautiful dress, the exhilaration, the tears. While you and your loved ones are making the most of every moment--your grandpa's funky dance moves, your best friend's heartfelt toast, the laugh over the missed word in the vows--I'm making sure you have those memories forever. My style? Primarily photojournalistic. I focus on the emotion and the motion without getting in your way. You do your thing, and I'll be right there with you, unobtrusively documenting your special day. I photograph weddings in New York and the tristate area, along with destination weddings (like Brazil, California, Washington, Utah, Chile and more). Have bags, will travel! Our most recent awards are 2020 The Knot Best of Weddings and 2020 Wedding Wire Couples Choice Award. My team includes a deep bench of second photographers and videographers. Brett was wonderful to work with. Due to covid, we needed to cancel and reschedule 4 times over the course of a year. Brett was flexible throughout and ensured me he’d be there whenever we could make it happen. The photos are so amazing. I am just so emotional and happy looking through the galleries of more than a thousand shots. He beautifully captured the day, the emotions, the joy, and every little moment. Just truly wonderful and I am very grateful!!

Brett was great! He was dependable and easy to work with. We did not feel rushed with him or pressured to stick to his time line. He also let us lead the whole day- where we wanted to take photos, etc. He had great suggestions and there were no cheesy photo moments. I am a person that doesn't love the spotlight, but Brett made me feel super comfortable and it wasn't awkward at all. The pictures turned out great. Highly recommend!

Photographs were the one part of planning and executing our wedding that we literally did not have to worry about. Brett and his team were organized, thoughtful, clear, and independent, meaning we never had to think about their work. We trusted them to capture our day, and they did an amazing job. We could not have expected anything better!

It's been about a month since our engagement, so my life is starting to normal out and I finally have time to acknowledge Brett in a public way. Brett was an absolute professional - from almost-immediate responses on email to simulated walk-throughs and through execution of my proposal. I have to imagine that my proposal (an elaborate plan that went dramatically wrong) will be one of the most challenging experiences of his career; but he helped me to make it better than I had planned, and ultimately the most magical experience of our lives. While Brett played many roles for us that day, he was there to take pictures. And my goodness, he did an incredible job capturing all of the emotions in our special moment. I thank Brett endlessly, and look forward to working with him for all of our future events.

Brett took the most beautiful engagement photos for me and my now husband. He knew exactly how to direct us because let’s face it, we only know how to say “cheese” and smile. I got the photos of my dreams which are definitely “Pinterest” worthy. I could not recommend anyone more.

Brett photographed our wedding and we couldn't be happier. Brett is attentive, funny, and professional. Every picture captured something different and wonderful about that day–the people, the food, the atmosphere, the joy! I think what I appreciated most though, was that he was always keeping an eye out for unexpected moments to capture. A couple of times during the reception, he'd whisk us away and do a mini session because he saw something that had inspired him. Those spontaneous pictures are the ones that hang throughout the house. Five stars all around!

I truly recommend Deutsch Photography! It was a pleasure to work with Brett and he captured memorable moments from my wedding in a beautiful and artistic way. When I look back on the photos I recall the special memories that happened in those moments and appreciate that Brett captured them.

Brett is fantastic. The photos he took of our wedding were beautiful. I was particularly grateful for the candid moments he captured throughout the night - of me and my husband in sweet, unscripted moments, and of nearly every wedding guest dancing, laughing, etc. His energy is just what a bride (and groom, mother of bride, extended family, etc) needs on a potentially stressful day. He is always kind, accommodating, and relaxed - but also efficient, and, if somebody needs to crack the whip and get 25 people in formation for an extended-family portrait, he can make it happen. For months after our wedding, my mother referred to Brett as her "favorite person."

Brett took great photos of our wedding! He was super easy to work with, and great at herding the wedding guests (nicely). He made sure he got a photo of every guest, which is what I wanted. Highly recommend!

Hello and good day to all, My name is Terrance and I'm a NYC native. I am currently married with two boys (15 & 12) and we love to capture special moments. Moments like my wedding day! Typically I would handle the family photos for certain events, but this occasion required a pro's touch and that's where Deutsch Photography came in. Mr. Brett handled all of my photo album material from the wedding and he also captured images from the reception. The level of professionalism and quality of work displayed by Deutsch Photography is absolutely astounding. Not only do they operate with some of the industries top notch equipment, but their artistic creativity adds another layer to the session. A photoshoot, especially a wedding one, can be quite an intimidating ordeal. And frankly, I dreaded it since I usually don’t do well with staged photos... But being a highly skilled professional, Bret made our experience easy and enjoyable. He has this wonderful personality that immediately puts you at ease. It really felt like we were just hanging out with a friend and happened to take some photos here and there. We never felt rushed and ended up laughing a lot. We wanted to have photos that felt candid and reflected the emotion behind our intimate wedding ceremony in the Central Park, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. I highly recommend Bret! He is a real pleasure to work with in every single aspect of the process.

We couldn't have been more thrilled with Deutsch Photography! Our wedding photos were gorgeous and Brett was easy to work with. A bit camera-phobic, we didn't want photos that were posed or stilted, but hoped for a more spontaneous, documentary-style of photography for our Indian-American-Canadian wedding. Brett knew just what we meant. We were able to be fully in the moment of our day while barely noticing we were being photographed. Brett has an eye for finding telling details, and we were able to see what our friends and family was experiencing even when were weren't right there with them. Many years later, we still love looking at those photos. Our kids have seen them so many times they now believe they were there, even though they weren't born at the time!

I could not be more pleased with the work Brett did as our wedding photographer. Brett captured all the important moments of the ceremony and party afterwards, including some unexpected moments that went by in a flash and I still cannot believe he got them (like a big spontaneous laugh that occurred when my wife and I both stumbled over the same line in our wedding vows). More importantly, Brett was the fly-on-the-wall photographer I was hoping for. While I love the small and big group posed pictures (which he does, of course) the ones that really matter to me are the small, animated moments that really bring the event back to me when I view them even all these years later. He captured those images in the style a true photojournalist does when covering an important event. He could not have done a better job and I recommend him as highly as I possibly can!!!

Brett and his team were the absolute best. His attention to detail was amazing and all of our family and friends fell in love with his warm personality. His prices are very reasonable by industry standards and the quality he delivers is amazing. In my opinion where his work shined the most was at the reception. The party pics he captured of all our our guests and and emotions was priceless.

I've had great experiences with Brett. A few years ago, I hired him to take a professional headshot for a book jacket. There were so many great photos, it was hard to choose just one. I was so pleased with his work that I hired him again for my wedding in Central Park. The pictures were amazing, perfectly capturing our joy and excitement. Even the "staged" portraits look spontaneous. Brett is also extremely courteous and friendly, a real pleasure to work with. I highly recommend him!

Brett is an amazing photographer!! He is a truly gifted photographer who somehow captures the authenticity of the moment and the emotions behind the expressions. His wedding photographs evoke such happy memories, as he doesn’t forget to capture the smallest details (even when you would otherwise have missed them). But what is even more wonderful is that he is able to marry that talent with so many other incredible qualities. He is patient, responsive, accommodating, super kind and an all-around great guy to work with and be around! As an added benefit, you also get to interact with his work (and life) partner, Sherri! She is a brilliant woman with a true heart of gold!

There's no stress free moments on your child's wedding day but having Brett doing all the photography was the next best thing. He was organized, detailed, creative, and totally in control. Such a calming presence. He was easy to communicate with. The photos were outstanding and delivered timely!

My experience with Deutsch Photography was stellar!! I hired them to take photos of my fiance and I at an engagement party -- a small karaoke venue no less -- a setting that seemed like it might be really hard to take photos. We wanted to use these photos for a Save the Date card. Brett did an incredible job!! We were shocked how many photos there were to choose from. I do not consider myself photogenic but we found a way to make me look good and to capture "unique couple" interactions. Brett was also great at the editing of our faves to give us many excellent options. The Save the Date cards came out great -- and I'm psyched to hire Brett again for my upcoming wedding!! 5-stars all the way!

We selected Brett to do our wedding this past September and we couldn’t be happier. Brett was professional and prompt and gave great direction pre, during, and post wedding. He listened to our needs and what style we wanted to accomplish and the pics surpassed our expectations! He captured our list of required shots as well as lots of intimate moments that really caught the essence of the day. You will not regret working with Brett for all your wedding needs!

Although joyful, weddings can also be so stressful. We're happy to report that photography definitely was NOT a stress point for us or our kids. We were utterly delighted with our experience with Brett Deutsch. Thoughtful and professional, Brett brought a detailed and artistic eye to all the photography he did for our family - both formal and informal. Brett was a calming presence, and listened carefully to what our children wanted and didn't want on their important day. He gave great advice and guidance. He was creative and fun, and really captured the personalities of our bride and groom. Can we give 6 stars? We highly recommend Deutsch Photography and will definitely use them again.

Deutsch Photo was recommended to us by a friend and we were not disappointed. His level of skill in capturing the moments perfectly was amazing. He had the perfect balance of taking the requisite posed shots with family and friends but when it came time to the candid shots he was unobtrusive and at times we had no idea he was there. We were thrilled with the results, his editing, his demeanor, friendliness and professionalism. He is easy to get along with and knows exactly where to be at the right time. Since then we have used Brett's skills for other events, and have referred him to friends
