David knows a dozen ways to teach a step until we finally learn it, and even more how to design dances for "senior citizens" that make us look great while not requiring the flexibility of 30 year-olds. Our private lessons were with Meriwether, and she helped us craft a first dance that met our vision, and made us much better dancers along the way. Each lesson was fun, light-hearted, and was overall a wonderful experience. And of course, our first dance came out wonderful! We are excited to continue taking lessons post-wedding, since we had such a great time!

nce perfectly. He made the entire process fun and easy, but still taught us an enormous amount in the months leading up to our wedding. He’s extremely knowledgeable and a great teacher! My partner and I came in at different skill levels (I did swing dancing in college, she had no previous experience), but Trey was able to accommodate the knowledge gaps. We started with the Foundations package and have gone from there. The lessons themselves are 45 minutes each, but you can double them up if you need the extra time for instruction. The package gives you access to a full calendar of events at their studio at no extra cost. They do themed nights, either based on styles of dance or holidays. We admittedly haven’t taken advantage of those as much as we’d like, but the times we go are informative, fun, and good for extra practice. For our first dance, we learned swing, rumba, and foxtrot, all in a handful of months (and ~13 lessons) and enjoyed our time so much that we decided to buy additional lessons after our wedding! Note- they do run sales that help keep the cost down. We highly recommend you ask for Trey! He’s been fantastic to work with and learn from, plus he’s been a pleasure to get to know. SHDA is definitely a great choice for your wedding or just fun date time (that happens to also be a learning opportunity) with your significant other!

Our guests were so impressed and it was so fun to show off at our wedding. We are looking forward to going back to SHDA as a couples date night and taking more classes. She was patient with us, flexible with our busy schedules, personable like family, and listened to what we envisioned. She made my husband into somewhat of a dancer and she overall gave us a fun time each and every time. She choreographed the most beautiful dance that all our family and friends still talk about. Going to SHDA on Friday nights and Saturdays was absolutely our favorite pre-wedding activity and made for such fun date nights! I can’t recommend SHDA more - they are really the best! Pam and Julianna were both lovely and we had a blast working with them. Highly recommend taking dance lessons from SHDA for your wedding - you will feel like a star!

We started by learning several different dance styles before selecting doing a waltz as our wedding dance. Nodari perfectly understood that we wanted to keep the dance organic and only therefore helped us frame the dance well by just having a planned opening and end to the dance.

We learned the steps and then moved into choreographing to our dance and truly it was our favorite part of wedding planning, becuase we got to be together just the two of us doing something fun and there were no interactions. it was 45 minutes of fun together, and we are going to continue taking lessons after the wedding because we loved it so much! So when we ended our dance a little earlier than planned for the music, we danced a few more moves and I got to get dipped twice! So fun! standing, and the venue itself is ideal for a wedding under 120 people. We had about 90 people and it was perfect. The historical neighborhood, the existing decorations and paintings added a nice twist to the venue that is hard to recreate in your average wedding venue. Shana was very easy to work with and we had no complaint whatsoever about any aspect of the venue. Definitely recommended for couples who want to have a fun wedding filled with dancing!
