With many years of experience, Jay Young at Classic Photography in Cedar Rapids, IA is passionate about capturing weddings and milestone moments. Jay is the owner and lead photographer of the company and enjoys meeting others and creating heirloom images for clients to treasure for generations.
Jay has been capturing weddings as a professional since the late 1980s. His love for photography goes back to junior high when he was able to buy his first camera. Jay later went on to study journalism at the University of Iowa, with his love for the photography industry only growing. For him, it is a joy to play a role in making sure that a couple can remember their wedding and the happiness that the day brought them.
At Classic Photography, Jay uses a photojournalistic style as he likes to capture moments in an authentic way. The albums he creates combine candid and posed photographs, and packages vary in the hours of coverage. Jay is also able to collaborate with his daughter Madison, who steps in as a second photographer. Together, they are able to creatively capture moments from more than one angle. Classic Photography operates throughout Iowa, and Jay is open to traveling throughout the United States.

been there many times and they were amazing photos! We did not feel feel pressured to book the most expensive package and were not talked into taking any photos we already decided we didn't want. I honestly do not remember seeing (or hearing) him during the ceremony, which made for some great photos! Although we only had 4 hours of time with Jay scheduled, he took around 400 photos which he emailed to us within 4 days of the wedding, and I love every photo! We highly recommend Jay and Classic Photography!
