When I began researching places to have our wedding, we had 1 criteria: we wanted to have our ceremony inside to avoid intense sunlight and heat during the summer. I searched for places that could accommodate this and struggled to find a place where the ceremony would be just as beautiful inside as it would be outside.
But then I found Stoltzfus Homestead! I fell in love with the Tobacco Barn, where I could envision a ceremony being so beautiful. The barn is gorgeous and the doors make for a special dramatic reveal of the bride. I also loved that Stoltzfus had two different barns, so the reception could be in it's own unique space and not simply a re-staging of the ceremony space.
My fiance and I loved each area of the venue: the bride and groom suites, the lounge (something you won't find at other venues), the secret garden, and the barns. There were so many great spots for photos. Plus, our guests commented on how fun it was to walk around and explore the venue during the reception.
Stoltzfus does a great job of managing the wedding day so that you don't have to as the bride and groom. We were very thankful that our family could just enjoy the day while the venue's day-of-coordinator made sure everything ran smoothly. Additionally, during the wedding planning process, the Stoltzfus staff were communicative and helpful. We appreciated their design consultation where we were able to do a trial run of our table set up and see how the decor would look in the spaces.
We would recommend Stoltzfus Homestead to anyone looking for a wedding venue in Lancaster!

oking at the photos and thinking, “This is it.” When my fiancé (at the time) and I finally visited, he instantly fell in love with it too, and within about two minutes of walking around, we both knew this was where we were going to get married.
From the moment we booked, the entire family who runs the venue made us feel so welcomed and taken care of. Dawn, Brian, and their son Matthew are truly incredible and go above and beyond for their couples. They helped guide us through every step of the process, answered every question, and made what could have been an overwhelming experience feel exciting and manageable.
One of my favorite things they did was host an open house before the wedding with many of their preferred vendors. We were able to sample the food, see flowers and décor in person, and actually meet and talk with vendors face-to-face. This made such a difference in the planning process because it helped bring our vision to life and made decisions feel so much easier.
The design shop was an extra special bonus. Matthew was absolutely amazing in helping me choose table settings, decorations, and all the little details that brought my vision together. Having someone who understood the aesthetic I was going for and could help me make those choices was such a gift. The white school bus was also the perfect touch for our day. It made transporting guests to and from the venue seamless and added such a fun, unique element to the wedding experience.
And the venue itself… absolutely breathtaking. The two separate barns, the secret garden, and every little detail throughout the property create the most beautiful backdrop for a wedding. Each space feels intentional and special, and there are endless opportunities for stunning photos and unforgettable moments.
Looking back, we could not have chosen a more perfect place to celebrate our marriage. This venue is not just beautiful — it is the people behind it that make it truly unforgettable. We are so grateful to Dawn, Brian, Matthew, and their entire team for making our wedding day everything we dreamed of and more. 🤍

e immediately amazed by the meticulous grounds, and then you look up and take in their incredible historical barns that are connected by cozy string lights. You have the opportunity to get married in their beautiful white barn, followed by a cocktail hour in a breath-taking and relaxing oasis of a garden, and then a reception in their larger grand barn with huge open doors that give your guests a unique indoor/outdoor flow. Both barns are open canvases for any decorating style that you could imagine (use Pearls & Petals for the most outstanding flower arrangements - Megan is their daughter!), and the gardens are naturally beautiful. You can incorporate levels of DIY decorating, but they have their own "prop shop" with endless options of decor from how to display flowers during the ceremony, to fabrics and centerpiece features for the reception (their son Matt is constantly creating incredible pieces, and he works carefully with you to bring your look to life!). Even more fun is the extra experiences that you can rent through them, like a photo booth in an old camper, a s'mores station at a fire pit, and a sparkler exit! They think of everything, and they're open to other ideas to make your day just as you dreamed! Their team is a well-oiled machine who walks you through the planning process with detailed email newsletter-like updates with timeline suggestions, while also always being available for questions that they answer quickly and thoroughly. On your day they're prepared for any hiccup, but they'll handle things with grace and ease, to a level that you'll never know if something went wrong for a moment. They have rainy backup plans too, but somehow their grassy cocktail gardens absorb even days of rain prior like you'll never believe. We were able to take in every ounce of their grounds just as we hoped, including first look photos in their special "secret garden" behind beautiful wooden doors, sunset photos on their hillside overlooking everything, a quiet moment on their fun large swing, and then a private last dance while guests gathered for the sparkler exit. Of course the day goes by quickly, but by hosting the whole day with them, and using their decorating services, you get to take it at the perfect pace and you're supported and cared for throughout it all. We can't wait to take every opportunity to return and relish in the memories made there; you're forever family there, and it's felt from the first time you visit!

ue for any type of weather - rain or shine there is no stressing about your wedding day. The getting ready bridal suite was so spacious and beautiful. Dawn and Brian are the nicest people and their staff was exceptional. Having the “prop shop” is such a plus - we live out of state and didn’t have to worry about buying and bringing in all of our decor and furniture because it is all there for you! This venue is so organized with the planning process and know exactly how to make your day run smoothly. Every one of our guests commented on how beautiful the property and landscaping was. Having their preferred vendors list was also so nice because each vendor already knew how to best set up for the space. Communication with each person at this venue is prompt and they truly want to help you make your day happen the way you want it to. It is so beautifully versatile, creating a fun, outdoor/indoor feel to a wedding venue - which is exactly what we were looking for. at the venue is family run (pro tip- hire their daughter Megan to do your flowers and their son Matthew to do your decor!) and could tell from the moment we stepped onto the property how much love and care goes into the venue and the creation of the perfect day for each couple.
Communication:
I am not exaggerating when I say that I probably exchanged over 1000 emails with Dawn over the course of the year leading up to our wedding. She never made me feel silly or bad for asking one million questions and truly seemed to enjoy the process of getting to know me and my husband. When it came time to plan our decor, rather than telling us to tone down our ideas and go with a more simplified install, they said that they were up for the challenge. They truly made our wedding dreams a reality.
Amenities/Spaces:
Every inch of the homestead is thought out. Many venues we toured had some great parts and some not so great parts. Comparatively, It really seems like the homestead doesn’t have any weaknesses. Between numerous ceremony spaces (we went with the tobacco barn), a separate building for reception, the outdoor areas, the covered lounge building, and a magical bridal suite and spacious grooms room, the homestead blew all other venues out of the water (both within our budget and even many that were above our budget).
I could go on and on about the magical day that wouldn’t have been possible without the homestead team.
We’re going to miss working with Dawn and Brian!!!

solutely amazing throughout the entire process! First, the planning process for the entire wedding was made so much easier by selecting a venue that already works with such strong vendors. Choosing from a list of curated vendors rather than just relying on a Google search eased our fears of last-minute wedding disasters.
Dawn and Brian are excellent; I would recommend them and this venue to anyone. The entire planning process was actually enjoyable because of the system Stoltzfus has in place. Then, when the guests finally got to see the venue, they couldn't believe the location and the experience; it was just beautiful. On the day of the wedding, I didn't have to worry about a single thing because of the process Stoltzfus had in place. I felt so prepared for the day and could focus on getting ready and photos rather than anything related to the day's logistics.

erfect, I mean it. From the day we booked our wedding date, Brian and Dawn (the owners) were so helpful, kind, and welcoming. Guests have been raving about how amazing everything was. The property is beautiful. There are so many little spaces for guests to mingle, play games, and enjoy their time during the reception. If you do choose to go with Stoltzfus, you will enjoy every minute of your wedding day and have absolutely no worries at all. All my endless questions/ emails/concerns addressed immediately, the many helpful & extremely informative tips&emails from the owners throughout the planning, and the amazing wedding coordinator they pair you with. Every person who works at this venue goes above & beyond, but especially the owners & coordinator. There was a mix up with our cake vendor, and we were left with NO CAKE on our wedding day. Before I was even informed of this hiccup, the owner Brian went out to the grocery store and bought a little birthday cake for us. Our coordinator took off all of the confetti and made it a beautiful white "sweetheart" cake to make sure we at least had something to cut. That is the definition of going above & beyond for one of their couples & shows truly how genuine they are. This is such a beautiful venue with many new additions being added throughout the years! The bridal suite is also an absolute dream. I had the best time getting ready with my girls in it. My husband and I are so grateful we had our wedding here & even more grateful for the relationships we've gained because of it! rried. Every guest that I talked to said that this was one of the best weddings that they have ever been to. The cigar and whiskey bar was a huge hit along with the icicle bicycle, fire pit, and everything else that this venue provided. The venue makes everything so easy from having preferred vendors to choose from to an entire array of items to pick from in their prop shop. The prop shop included so many unique items and it saved on the hassle of the wedding party worrying about transporting decorations because Stoltzfus provided set up and tear down of any items rented through them. Dawn, Brian, and their team were so attentive and detail oriented. Dawn and Brian were also present through the entire day so if I ever needed anything, they were there to help.

beforehand was thorough and made us feel like we had nothing to worry about. The property is beautiful and the amount of time they spend on the landscaping and getting the venue ready for the day was more than we could have expected. So many of our guests asked, " where did you guys find this place?! It is beautiful!!" The amount of space and different areas around the property give you so much flexibility for pictures, ceremony, and simply for guests to enjoy throughout your wedding celebrations. We really couldn't have imagined our day to turn out any better and so much credit is due to the Stoltzfus team and Ginger for everything that goes into it behind the scenes and for the way they treated us the entire time. Highly recommend!!!

nk we knew this would be the one but we continued to look at other options. Brian had given us a tour and there was something calm and reassuring about his demeanor which made two very anxious people, comfortable. After touring three other venues, it was obvious that Stoltzfus was unlike any other. Not only is the venue affordable, but we loved the beautiful indoor options. After making our decision, then came the planning process. As the first child in my family getting married, I did not know what to expect. Dawn and Brian helped to solidify and bring all areas of our day together. We wanted a venue that is organized, enjoys the vendors that it works with, and helps to relieve major stress surrounding the big day. Stoltzfus did all that. Their prop shop had all the decorations that we needed and for a good price. They have certain vendors that they suggest you choose from and I was SO thankful for that. The process with florals, the DJ, food, photography, and our wedding coordinator (love Chela) came together flawlessly.
Then came our wedding day. Torrential downpour with wind all day. Stoltzfus Homestead went above and beyond for us with umbrellas, towels, lots of planning ahead with canopies/coverings, etc etc.
I never thought I would say that a wedding day full of rain would be a good day, but I was wrong. It was a PERFECT day. I will forever be grateful to how hard the staff at Stoltzfus Homestead worked to keep the day amazing, focused on us, and positive for all involved. Brian and Dawn even offered us to come back for a campfire and drinks since we had day full of bad weather. The kindest people. Stoltzfus Homestead thank you so much for everything, we are eternally grateful!

O much more. In the end we felt like we were part of the family. There is history on site with the tobacco barn and grand barn while also being updated and always adding something special like the secret garden where we had our first look. Dawn, one of the co owners- is personable and detailed, your wedding will go off without a hitch. When booking you have to choose one of their DJs and Caterers from their preferred vendor list-this is so helpful because it narrows down from the abundance of vendors out there while also allowing you the freedom to choose what you want to spend. closer to the wedding we worked more with Brian and Matt-they are some of the hardest workers I know-ensuring your day goes as you wish and keeping the property trim and clean. I could say so much about this venue, it truly was the perfect day and one we will reflect on for the rest of our lives. Dawn made every step easy, and kept me calm throughout the rocky process of trying to plan an international wedding during a worldwide pandemic. lf was beautiful from the ceremony tobacco barn to the reception grand barn and everything in between. We loved working with Dawn, Brian, and our wedding coordinator who was from the venue as well. They made us feel comfortable, relaxed, and totally at home. We didn’t feel like planning a wedding was that hard at all (and we didn’t have a huge budget) so that really says something about how much help they were. They accommodated all of our needs and we couldn’t be happier with our choice (and each other).

Brian took the time to show us around and got us comfortable with the property and offerings. It was also the dead of winter but was clear the venue would be beautiful in the spring. We signed the contract very soon after our first visit and from that point on we were in good hands. All of our vendors came recommended from Dawn and we loved each and every one of them. The open houses were above and beyond and allowed us to visualize all the potential possibilities for our wedding. Our wedding day turned out absolutely perfect and I credit that to a beautiful venue and an amazing team of people. Thank you to everybody who made our day so special!

day taking place. There are so many beautiful places for pictures and for our videographer to capture.
The venue offered many places for our guests to hang out and lounge, not only during cocktail hour but
during the reception as well. Dawn and Brian are so knowledgeable in their venue and in weddings
that they were such a huge asset for us when planning our special day! I was able to email or call Dawn
with any questions I had during the planning process. They even allowed us to have Alpacas (my absolute
favorite animal) at our cocktail hour as it was a gift from my mother! They allowed us to come visit
the venue so our families and bridal party could get a feel for the planning our wedding day details.
Dawns helpful emails about vendors, prop offerings from the venue, and everything in between out my mind
at ease about planning our wedding. They covered every little detail, and made sure our day would be as
we wanted it. Chela our coordinator was a delight and made every little detail come to life and words
cant even begin to express what all she and the staff did to make our day wonderful. Even when our cake
decided to melt, Chela pulled off some baking magic and allowed us our cake cutting without a hitch.
I could honestly go on an on but because of all the staff and their hard work our day will be something
we never forget! If you decide to use them as your venue you will NOT be disappointed!

Stoltzfus in January 2021 we knew this was the spot. We were fortunate to have a perfect day so Stoltzfus could show off its beauty. As all have said Dawn and Brian make everything as easy and low stress as possible. Courtney, our day of wedding coordinator was a perfect match for Abby and greatly appreciated. and beautiful, full of color and texture, just stunning. The two restored barns for the ceremony and reception are breathtaking. The wedding just took place this past Saturday and I could not wait to share my review. If you are thinking about having your wedding here, DO IT!! Their team is so professional and knowledgeable and everything happens without a hitch, they have their system down! I want to mention in particular Dawn who was so helpful along the 2 year planning process. Brian who was just calm and amazing the day off for both property and bartending. Chela who was our day of coordinator, don't know what we would have done without her and her pleasant and calm demeanor and her ability to keep everyone straight and on the timeline. I have control issues, LOL, but, didn't even think twice once explaining my daughter's vision for her decor and then handing off our decor. I couldn't wait to see how they utilized it and decorated everything and boy, it did not disappoint. All of our guests commented about how stunning everything was. As I danced away on the dancefloor, I looked at the tables and not one single person was still at their table, they were dancing, playing lawn games, walking the beautiful property or relaxing around the fire. That is the sign of a GREAT reception. I will end with saying that the entire day from start to finish was stress free, perfect in every way and truly magical.

The grass wasn't green, the flowers were not bright in color, there was no decor set up from a prior wedding, and yet, we fell in love with the venue. The 2 hour drive home, all we talked about was how stunning it was and how simple but beautiful each building was. Throughout the 3 years of planning, I emailed Dawn every little question I had and she was quick to respond with her best suggestion. I enjoyed visited each years open house. As there are many parts i appreciated, i really appreciated how Stoltzfus suggested or required other vendors such as flowers, food, hotels. It took the stress away of finding someone. It brought ease knowing we were hiring someone who has worked with Stoltzfus and knew the staff and lay of the land. We knew we wanted a barn wedding and Stoltzfus just amazed us. You would never know there was a housing community right behind the venue. I can not rave enough about the staff. All of our guest commented how beautiful the land was, how we were able to enjoy an indoor/outside wedding, how all the staff were so nice and accommodating, and our favorite part, we were able to have our fur baby apart of our special day. If there were any issues on our wedding day, we had no clue and tat is all due to the staff working their magic. I wish everyday was our wedding day so we can just visit the venue. We can never thank the Homestead enough for allowing us to start our life together at their amazing venue!!

But for all of your thinking and over thinking, I was so proud of you when you finally came to our final meetings and trusted us with your vision! That is not easy to do, but we proved ourselves leading up to the final weeks before wedding day and you trusted us! Because of your vision planning and the amazing staff we have in place, you had the day of your dreams and we couldn't be happier for you!!! t us have our dog in the wedding which was one of the main things for us. They also had yard games like Cornhole and Jenga. Brian, dawn, and Chela we’re amazing! They were very accommodating and helpful! It’s almost been a year since our wedding and our guest still talk about how nice the venue was and how much fun they had! I highly recommend Stoltzfus for your wedding!

toured the homestead we realized it was so much more than that... From the rustic, simple charm of the Tobacco Barn where our ceremony was held to the stunning Grand Barn that blew our guests away... we knew this venue was the one! The staff was so helpful! Courtney was AMAZING, she took care of everything the day of!! Brian and Dawn were so helpful with the planning process and really steered us in the right direction.. even through the wind and rain, the day was everything we could have dreamed of!
