The girls and I spend the morning and day prepping in the bridal suite where Edison created the perfect environment including a beautiful breakfast spread, cocktails and individual lunches for each of my important ladies 🤍 The food! People are still raving about the food. You name it you could find it at cocktail hour. Everything from porterhouse steak with all the fixings, a raw bar including lobster tail, delicious pastas and even a live sushi station amongst so much more! Then there was a four course seated meal which was followed by an outrageous dessert spread. Guests were blown away when they were provided late night snacks upon departure! We cannot say enough wonderful things about Maplewood Country Club. There truly isn’t a wedding with it Edison. We are so lucky to have had him by our side throughout this experience - he truly became my bridal bestie and remains one of our favorite humans and friend!

nd all for an unbelievable price, we knew we found the right venue for our special day. Edison was “the best” from day one, he even came on his day off on Super Bowl Sunday to show us the venue since we were pressed for time to book a venue 6 months out. We read the reviews and it sounded too good to be true but let me assure you that it is all true. Edison and everyone that works at MCC is wonderful and friendly and helpful. Oh, and the FOOD was out of this world, as the bride I only wish I had found time to eat more during the cocktail hour. Our guests were amazed and overwhelmed over the amount of food and couldn’t believe there was still a dinner to come then desserts and white castles and hot dogs as they left. The staff was on top of everything and even had some fun with our guests, which the guests loved. They were very professional with pleasant personalities that attended to our guests’ dietary needs. There didn’t seem to be anything they couldn’t do to make us and our guests happy. Ours was a second wedding for both of us with about 80 guests including my young grandchildren. Edison made this bride very relaxed; he did not allow me to stress about anything and was so good moving things along without pressure. We could have not picked a better place to have our wedding. Our guests are still commenting on what a wonderful wedding and how outrageously good and plentiful the food was. Guests even noticed how well Edison was on top of everything. Not one complaint and only tons of great things were said about our wedding and MCC. Many guests said it was the best wedding they ever attended. Thank you, Edison, your staff, and MCC. You truly were a very big part of making our wedding day the best day ever for both of us. I still say I want to have a wedding all over again because it was that great at MCC.

We worked with Edison, the Director of Catering who is amazing to work with. He and his team were so attentive and made sure everyone was happy. The food was not your typical banquet food, it was high end quality and people were enjoying all night. We were getting calls and text from family and friends for weeks after the party saying how it was the best time and best food they have had in a long time. and amazing quality! I come from a big italian family so a big priority for us was food and Maplewood came out on top! It was amazing. Not to mention the whole ballroom was just completely redone and was absolutely beautiful. Also, Edison who runs it is the absolute best. Hearing nightmare stories in the news from couples facing similar fate had us all too worried. Eddie (Edison) not only helped us reserve a new date, he compassionately put our minds at ease every step of the way. Knowing that we would be able to have the wedding we always dreamed about had us beyond excited. When our date was approaching Eddie was beyond responsive to every single inquiry and request we threw at him. He was very detailed oriented and made himself available even in off hours and days off to make sure our day went perfectly. We’re still getting compliments and calls about the day! The cocktail hour was second to none, we had so many options and Eddie was even able to incorporate our family’s traditional cuisine into the offerings. The bar staff was quick and professional in serving 150+ guests. Dinner was a very balanced and impressive menu that was enjoyed across the board by all of our guests. To help close the night we had some fun stations on the way out for some late night food and desserts that were perfect after our party! We can’t thank Eddie and the rest of the staff at Maplewood for helping us weather the COVID storm and host a wedding that was better than we could even imagine. A hidden gem amongst a plethora of venues options in the northern New Jersey area that was simply 5 stars across the board!

He was so accommodating and easy to work with. We selected a wedding date for March 2020. However, COVID-19 pandemic hit and we had to postpone the wedding. Edison was so patient with me as I was freaking out and postponed the date three times. Finally had our wedding on March 24, 2021. Edison held my hand throughout the pandemic, took all my phone calls and put me at easy. On the wedding day, he caterered to me from the beginning of our long day to the very end and beyond. Edison was very accommodating to all my guest and made sure eveyone was well taken care of. We had an awesome, amazing and unforgettable wedding! Thank you Maplewood CC and Edison, you are the best!

My older daughter got married there a few years ago and guests just couldn’t stop talking about the beauty of the venue, the quality and quantity of the food, and the amazing service. We knew we had found a gem. But my younger daughter’s wedding was a bit challenging. It was initially scheduled for May 2020 and then delayed until November 2020. You may be familiar with something called COVID and all the restrictions, cautions, and fear that was prevalent. We were very cognizant of the virus and while we decided not to delay the wedding indefinitely, we really wanted to keep our small group safe and comfortable (both physically and emotionally) while giving my daughter and her husband a special night to remember. That’s the miraculous part of Maplewood, Michael, and Edison. They helped us throw an 18-person wedding that was incredible. Despite the difficulties that COVID presented us with, we had a blast. Edison is nothing short of phenomenal. He is calm, funny, and truly wants to make the bride and groom happy. Nothing is impossible, and he will customize, change, or add in just about anything you can think of at a very reasonable price. That’s the magnificent and marvelous part. We had the most wonderful time, and while I hope none of you have to throw a wedding in challenging times, there’s something to be said for the small wedding with a core group. Regardless of the size, be it 10 or 200 people, Maplewood rocks. Thank you, Michael and Edison and the entire Maplewood staff.

When planning a wedding there is a bit of hope that everything works out the way you planned and due to Edison and MCC, everything blew our expectations out of the water. The night ran smoothly and all guests were taken care of. More than two months later our guests are still talking about the venue and the food. If you want value for your dollar and to make sure all your guests leave satisfied, go with MCC. It is a gorgeous venue with a built in staff that acts just like a wedding planner.

home. An easy train ride from NYC, guests were able to make a full weekend out of our big day. We worked closely with Edison, his team and our vendors to bring our vision to life. Our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception were all held throughout the venue and all were executed flawlessly for 220 guests. The partnerships they have with local vendors, including our day-of planner, florist, band, hotel and transportation were incredibly valuable. Edison and our planner were able to closely collaborate to keep all parties in-sync without skipping a beat throughout the night. The club ensured all of our "must-haves" would be accommodated; from the over abundance of food, to the golf cart for photos outside on the course, to allowing one incredibly excited boxer dog inside for just the ceremony, we could not have been more pleased with the outcome. We cannot thank the club enough for welcoming us in and pulling out all the stops to make our night so special. We are lucky to call the club our neighbor.

it was number one on my list for wedding venues. So about a week after becoming engaged, we went to visit MCC. This is when we met Edison who has become one of my favorite people! Edison is a super hero! He made the entire planning process seamless! He had an answer for every single question and almost never said “no” to my many requests. Here are some other things we loved about MCC besides Edison. The food is amazing. All of our guests told us it was the best wedding food they ever had. Next, it was beautiful and home-y at the same time. I loved the feeling of being in an elegant living room for the cocktail hour. The reception room was perfect. I used vendors familiar with the venue and everyone was able to coordinate so well. There was nothing for me to worry about. I got ready in the bridal suite with my large bridal party and Edison made sure we were fed all day. Mimosas too! We were able to arrive at the venue as early as we wanted. Edison also made sure we ate plenty of cocktail hour food which he brought up to the bridal suite at the beginning of the cocktail hour. We also were able to eat during the reception. Edison’s suggestion that we have our own sweetheart table definitely made it easier to eat. Of course, we could have had the tables however we wanted as MCC is so accommodating. One thing I was most excited for was the ice cream freezer during dessert. Of course, there was formal dessert, wedding cake, pastries, etc. but we also had an ice cream freezer with haagen daz cups, choco tacos, etc. As if that wasn’t enough, they also gave out white castle burgers, fries, onion rings and hot dogs on everyone’s way out. I am not exaggerating about everyone’s reaction to the food… everyone thought it was the absolute best! The price was also a lot more reasonable than other venues. All in, I would rate MCC and Edison a perfect 10!

The banquet manager, Edison, has worked at Maplewood for over a decade and has this “wedding thing” down to a perfect science. He was extremely accommodating and very responsive via text message—he quickly answered any questions we had throughout the planning process. He helped alleviate any concerns we might have had leading up to our big day and he made us feel very welcome and like family—we were in great hands. Edison and his team are simply superb—second to none. We cannot say enough good things about them. The wait staff and bartenders were attentive but not overbearing—they took great care of our and our guests’ every need. Words cannot express our gratitude to Edison, his team, and everyone at Maplewood Country Club. They were all also very accommodating—the club even let us practice our first dance on the dance floor a couple weeks prior to our wedding so we could get a feel for space. THE FOOD was one of the major highlights of the wedding. Our guests could not believe the amount of food at the cocktail hour—rave reviews from everyone as they tried to try a little bit of everything. The big hits were the sushi bar, caviar station/vodka ice luge (yes, you read that correctly), rack of lamb, and bar pizza. Dinner and dessert were also amazing—the cake from Swiss Pastry Shoppe in Scotch Plains was very tasty and they were able to bake the exact sponge/filling combo we desired. As if that wasn’t enough, Edison also catered the after-party with everyone’s late-night favorites (sliders, hot dogs, ice cream, etc.). Our guests could not believe they were so well fed and watered—everyone was thanking my wife and I for hosting an amazing wedding and it is not an overstatement when I say that all of the amazingness was because of Edison and his team at Maplewood. We HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND Maplewood Country Club for your wedding venue. You should contact Edison as soon as possible to book your wedding at Maplewood—you will be very glad you did (your guests will be happy too)!

They are the real deal! They did anything and everything we needed! And on the day of our wedding they were always magically there when we needed them! Our guests from all three weddings to this day still talk about it! And the food!!!! Don’t get me started on that cocktail hour! So much delicious food, something for everyone! And just when you think there isn’t any room left in your stomach on the way out to the door at the end of the night they serve you more food!!! I have never been to a wedding that provided this much and presented everything so well!! So in all seriousness I would recommended this venue to anyone! for the good stuff. When we went to our "tasting" we went through the menu and were told we were getting it all unless there was anything we didn't like or that we were allergic to. We couldn't believe it. Besides the food (which did I say was amazing?), the venue is also stunning. We took beautiful photos out on the golf course and at the venue. The ballroom had a huge dance floor, a stunning antique chandelier, and beautiful classic architecture. The service was top notch. Our guests commented on how their drinks were never empty. As a result, there was never over crowding at the bars. MCC thinks of everything and the night ran so smoothly. Edison and his team were fantastic to work with - they were so accommodating and MCC really went above and beyond our expectations to make our night truly perfect.

ys are spent focused on the logistics and minutia of planning and executing all kinds of programs, events and campaigns, and I run a part-time editing consulting business so I understand the merit of a review and do not leave or take them lightly. I am also rarely at a loss for words (can you tell?) but, that said, my wedding day – due in large part to Edison, the MCC staff and the venue itself – has really left me speechless. But that’s not helpful for anyone, is it? So, let me tell you this: Edison: He is the epitome of a master banquet manager, but so much more than that, too. He made us feel welcome from the very first visit and was so easy to work with – making me feel like anything I needed or wanted would be handled, rest assured. Any time (and there were plenty of them, trust me) that I reached out with a question in the year and a half between when I booked the venue and had my wedding, he responded with exactly what I needed to know – however big or small. He also recognized my personality and my need to feel in control, and instead of trying to take the reins he worked with me to ensure I was comfortable and felt heard. The day of the wedding was nothing short of magical, and while I still found it in myself to attempt to micromanage some details, there was truly no need. It was handled. Every single time. It still blows my mind that Edison threw a bat mitzvah right before my event (and that it was as if it never happened by the time my first guests arrived) and still gave me his full energy and attention, as if this was just the beginning of his workday. A true professional and just a really great guy, too – which makes it that much better. The MCC Staff: From the waiters to bartenders and everyone in between, the entire staff practices utmost professionalism and kindness. I was so sad to leave at the end of the night that I found each one of them and made them give me a hug and a kiss. They ensured everything went off without a hitch. Maplewood Country Club: Given I’m not one to waste any time, I had tours booked at almost 10 venues within a week following my engagement. I really didn’t have a vision (I’m not one of those people who dreamed of her wedding day since she was a little girl, although I wish I had been because that would have made the whole process a lot easier), so I saw a variety of venue types – grand ballrooms, country clubs, hotels, inns, and walked out of all of them feeling the same way I felt walking in: wanting that feeling of “this is the one” but not feeling it. Until MCC. Elegant and grand, yet intimate and quaint all at the same time. It was everything I could’ve dreamed of. Although I grew up in the area, I had never heard of MCC so was so taken back and pleasantly surprised by all it had to offer. The venue presents a flawless ceremony and reception (and I swear, despite my doubts, the staff can flip a room with perfection during cocktail hour). The setting is picturesque, the food is incredible, and the décor is chic yet charming. I wish I could get married there every day. I could go on and on, but I’ll stop here because I know if you’ve made it to this page you are in the thralls of wedding planning and certainly don’t have time to sit here and read my novel. Net/net: Just exquisite.

The ballroom is beautiful with two beautiful chandeliers. We had our ceremony there as well and they used the ballroom and then flipped it during cocktail hour for our reception. You wouldn’t even know it was the same room. There was SO MUCH FOOD. And it was delicious. Every guest (and vendor) said it was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding. From the cocktail hour to dinner, dessert and hot dog stand/White Castle at the end of the party, none of your guests will go home hungry. The staff were attentive, helpful and beyond polite. My bridal party got ready in the suite and they provided breakfast and lunch for us as well as champagne. When my flowers did not show up on time, Edison was the one calling the vendor to see where they were. Everything ran smoothly and Edison was there making sure it stayed that way. I was a stress-free bride at Maplewood Country Club and would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

He's intelligent, kind and organized. He made planning so easy and stress free. He answered all of our questions and provided his opinion and advice which were all very helpful. We just received a save the date for our friends wedding in August at the Maplewood Country Club and can't wait to be guests this time!

Our cocktail hour was insane and everyone is still talking about the amazing entrees and white castle and little treats to end the night. The bridal party was treated like royalty even while getting ready that morning. We walked into a full breakfast spread and champagne chilling! Could not have asked for a more incredible day. he layout of the venue is fantastic. I wanted a venue that didn't look like a typical wedding hall. Furniture and décor was modern and the lighting was perfect. The outside patio was the best room in the club! Everyone enjoyed a cigar and hung out by the fire pits. One of my main concerns with planning a wedding was the food. MCC did not disappoint!!! Everyone LOVED the food! Top notch cocktail hour food choices and main dinner! The filet mignon was a hit for dinner. Steakhouse worthy! Great waitstaff and overall a perfect night. I wish it didn't have to end!

He is so responsive with any questions or anything you need and he makes sure you are taken care of every step of the way. I can't say enough good things about this place. My day was so much fun and perfect and that was in big part due to MCC and their amazing service.
