It’s very hard to put into writing why you should hire Whimboy to photograph your special day. For our micro wedding of 40 guests, it was extremely important the only one wedding vendor we were going to have, a photographer, would make us feel comfortable. Let’s start with how he’s different. He took time with us to video chat and learn about us before we even talked wedding details, packages and pricing. He allowed us into his life and shared details of his career and his family, and truly was just an authentic person we immediately wanted to capture our love. Whimboy did awesome work shooting my elopement photos. His keen eye for settings and creative use of perspectives and shallow depth of field created truly elegant shots. Additionally, his easygoing and playful disposition made the experience fun for my wife and myself and added much warmth and emotion to the photos as well. Celeste did a wonderful job with my wife's makeup, and her expertise added extra class and sophistication to my wife's expressions. Highly recommended!

I am not one for taking photos and was honestly dreading to have to do an engagement photoshoot (thinking it would be awkward) but Whimboy made it enjoyable and fun. Whimboy took our engagement photos. We met him before the photo shoot to discuss what we wanted. We took photos at the Lincoln Memorial and reflecting pool. He was early to the photo shoot, took a number of different shots, got the photos back to us quickly, and the photos turned out great.

I have only amazing things to say about Whimboy. Hands down, he is the best photographer out there. He is personable and able to put even the most picture-reluctant people at ease. First of all, let me tell you about Whimboy the man. My wife Tiffany and I met up with him at a bookstore cafe and had the most delightful time talking with him. Trading stories about our family histories and about how we met and how he met his wife. He was touched and inspired by our story and we connected on a level that just felt like catching up with a friend instead of meeting a professional photographer for the first time. He was always open to communicate whether by phone or email and answered the barrage of questions we sent his way over the months leading to our big day with courtesy and grace. He advised us on best time of day for the best outdoor shots and came and scoped out the venue on his own. He also has very flexible payment options which had us worry free in that department. But come the big day we were delighted to meet his beautiful wife and amazing kids. His wife assisted him nearly the whole event. We were blown away and had no idea we were getting 2 photographers in essence. His energy was high but so was his passion for his art and our families. Everything felt natural and he is literally all over the place. Just when you thought he was somewhere else he'd be in the corner catching an epic action shot of our guests. He truly is part of the family in my eyes. We keep in touch to this day, encouraging and supporting each other. Whimboy made everyone smile the whole day. Our guests commented on how fun and friendly he was. His pictures were beautiful with wonderful lighting. We had a Fall wedding so the changing of the leaves made for a great backdrop. While I love all the staged/ prepared shots, the candid ones are some of my favorites. Whimboy also delivered the photos quickly and in a cute wooden box with his logo on it. Booking Whimboy for our wedding day was one of the best decisions. My husband and I are completely loving looking back st the whirlwind of our wedding day. He even made my ugly cry during the vows look beautiful.

My now husband surprised me with a photo shoot during our proposal. Wimboy went above and beyond what I expected during the shoot. He instantly made me feel at comfortable considering It was our first meeting! He was very accomedating and made sure I got all the shots I wanted. I found out that day that a few days before the proposal he and his wife took the time to meet up with my husband at the location and helped plan the exact way to position us so that the picture was framed perfectly. My son and his bride had chosen Whimboy as their photographer because he was highly recommended by one of their friends who had contracted him for their wedding. When I saw their engagement pictures which he took, it was clear that it was the right choice. He was able to capture the sweetness of their affections. I finally met Whimboy at the wedding, and he was really engaging and easy to work with. He was friendly and made everyone feel at ease. From beginning to end, he captured the special vignettes throughout the day but he was not intrusive. I just saw the wedding photos, and truly they were fantastic. We are grateful to him for documenting those moments that will live in our minds forever.

We found Whimboy because he had done two of our friend’s weddings who raved about him and after seeing his work, we agreed. His photos are vivid, clear, and he captures each moment. We got back over 1000 photos from our wedding both formal and candid and they were a joy to look though. I love them all, it will be tough to narrow them down to a smaller photo book selection. Whimboy was one of our favorite vendors that we worked with for our wedding. He did our engagement photos and said that the engagement photos are mostly for the groom so that they feel comfortable in front of a camera by the time the wedding rolls around. I think both of us needed that in front of the camera experience and he definitely made us feel comfortable and relaxed. His wife Celeste was my makeup artist (the trial was the day of our engagement photos) and for all of the bridesmaids and did such a professional amazing job. <3 We looked gorgeous! We stayed pretty much on schedule for photographs are he was able to get lots of shots in that period of time. He humored us after the ceremony by getting on a ladder to get a shot of all 185 of our guests in their seats from above. It was an amazing shot! His sister was in town and was our second photographer. She captured a lot of the decorative details as well as intimate and candid moments with our guests that we are so glad to have. The whole family is down to earth and personable and a joy to be around. Thank you for being a part of our wedding!

Whimboy did our wedding and we also did an engagement photo shoot with him. He is an amazing photographer; he is very good at putting people at ease and takes great photographs. During our engagement photo session, I don't think we stopped laughing for very long, it was a two hour session but it did not feel anywhere that long. My daughter found Whimboy to photograph her April wedding a few years ago. It turned out to be freezing cold , windy and even snowed! Whimboy encountered the harshest of conditions to work in, and yet he gave her the most beautiful wedding pictures ever! The clouds, wind and even the snow were no match for Whimboys gift of making amazing photo memories for our entire family. We have another daughter getting married in 3 weeks and are so happy Whimboy was available to do this wedding shoot also! We've had Whimboy photograph two of our family weddings so far, and plan to invite him back for the next one! We have so appreciated his skill in capturing the joy and special moments of the day. He has boundless energy and determination to "get the shot," but he is unobtrusive in doing so. Whimboy was the best photographer for us and our wedding. When we met him in person, he was welcoming and his enthusiasm for wedding photography showed in all the tips he gave us to think about while we were planning. He even agreed to travel when we asked if he could still be our photographer after the wedding moved out of state. We were so busy on our wedding day that we didn't have time to keep track of anything, but Whimboy was on top of making sure we got all the photos we had planned with him. We booked Ray for our engagement photo shoot at The Oatlands in March 2018 (he will also photograph our wedding). Throughout the process, he has been engaging, helpful, honest, and super fun to work with. His style is natural and relaxed--no awkward/fake poses, which is definitely our style. We met with him and his wife, Celeste for a consultation, and we knew right away that we wanted to book them. Our photos are gorgeous (and we are not naturals in front of the camera!). Celeste will do your makeup for an additional fee--I'm not much for makeup, so wanted a "natural" look, which came out beautifully. We cannot wait for our September 2018 wedding and are confident that our wedding photos will be just as beautiful as our engagement photos.

I had the pleasure of working with Whimboy for my wedding. He is a gem: thoughtful, warm, will listen to all your concerns, and a top professional. The day of my wedding I was so overwhelmed that it was tremendous help to have Whimboy be part of my team. He was always trying to be accommodating, working with and around other vendors (officiant, stylists, etc) and find solutions. Not only was he courteous to my guests, he was also focused on getting the shots I wanted and making sure my guests felt relaxed. His approach was so naturally friendly that other vendors thought he was part of the family. And that is really the essence of his approach: he works with you like you're family. I was also impressed from the moment I received the photos. I got my USB in a delicate wooden box with his logo - all thoughtfully presented. And the photos are amazing. He was the only photographer on site, which meant more pressure on him to capture the right moments. And he did! From the intense look on our eyes during the ceremony, to the emotional toasts, to our first dance, and to family letting go on the dance floor - Whimboy captured it all. I often go back to the photos to look back at the most amazing and overwhelmingly happy day of my life. I'm extremely happy we chose him to capture our wedding.

Whimboy is such a pleasure to work with! He had a way of making us feel at ease while taking photos, in the midst of the busyness of our wedding day. He made sure our entire experience was fun and memorable! We had a photo shoot in a DC museum between the church ceremony and reception, and we literally had only 30 minutes to shoot at the museum before they closed, but Whimboy pulled off such amazing shots despite the time constraints. He even gamely took pictures of us walking in the rain, since we were in such a rush in and out of the museum. It speaks volumes about his professionalism and passion for his craft! He cares for his clients and really took our ideas and preferences to heart. We were thrilled that the final photos were beautiful as he was able to capture moments during our wedding in impeccable detail. Whimboy is a photographer you can rely on. We can't thank him enough!

Weddings can be stressful, esp for the brides. Destination weddings are even worse. But imagine having a typhoon in a destination – outdoor – wedding. Now that is something! For my wedding in 2012 that’s what we had. It was raining all day and tents were being blown away but because of Whimboy’s unperturbed composure and enthusiasm in what he does – none of those problems are visible in our wedding pictures. All our pictures came out amazing! The whole time, despite all the craziness he was cheering everyone up, he would tell jokes, share funny stories to make people laugh and not worry about what was going on. It is an understatement to say that he is a great photographer and that his photos are amazing. What sets him apart from the rest is – he has an eye for even the simplest details and can capture it in a very artistic way. He finds “magic” in ordinary objects, situations, people, and events and can make it really extraordinary. His passion for this craft is visible and can be felt in his photos. A truly remarkable artist!

Why can't we do more than 5 stars?!? Whimboy & Celeste definitely deserve the highest of ratings no matter what scale they get measured on. Whimboy came highly recommended by my sister and her friends. We actually got to see his work first hand at my sister's wedding in 2016 and pretty much knew we had our wedding photographer right then and there. His attention to detail is outstanding and his work speaks for itself. We knew the quality of work we were getting and knew we were in great hands to capture that special day in our lives. The pictures came out as best as we could of imagined, and we have no complains about anything at all during the whole process. I am so happy and grateful to say that I have gained a good friend, a brother after sharing two weddings together for our family. I see great things coming up for Whimboy. Whimboy & Celeste came highly recommended by my sister in law and my day off coordinator as they both used Whimboy. He has a way of making you feel at ease and comfortable. He was very attentive and responsive to emails/calls leading up to wedding day which for any bride goes a long way. Working with the Echavez duo during our engagement shoot was like hanging out with cool friends. Although meeting up for the shoot was our first time getting together, there was immediate rapport the moment we shook hands. Throughout the session, we were encouraged to be ourselves and the four of us were laughing continuously. Make no mistake, Whimboy and Cel are absolute professionals. Since it was midday, Cel knew light make-up was best on me and Whimboy’s creativity was on full display when he saw the range of colors throughout the Rizal Stadium setting. Even with the sun shining down at its peak, he found ways to effectively utilize the entire venue. With Whimboy’s enthusiasm and sharp ideas, Justin and I happily ran, smiled, laughed, giggled, jumped, posed, and climbed for the camera. It was a memorable shoot and we wouldn’t want it any other way. We had an amazing time! The photos came out wonderfully, reflecting the passion that Whimboy brings to photography, with that passion clearly on display during the shoot and through the moments he captured on film. As Justin and I now live in Washington DC, we know it won't be long before we will go visit our great friends, Whimboy and Cel.

Whimboy’s work was outstanding! I would say it was even better than outstanding considering that we had very limited time to get to know each other. I contacted him very late (two weeks before the wedding) because the contract with my initial photographer fell out. He was proposed by a friend from the Philippines and Whimboy happened to be available. My wedding was in New York and he was based in Virginia. He still made it happen. It was such a wonderful coincidence, because I wouldn’t think there would be anyone else better to capture our precious moments than Whimboy. In fact, I met Whimboy for the first time at the wedding BUT WE CLICKED RIGHT AWAY! He was very attentive to my needs and the “environmental” limitations – it was grey and drizzling the day of my wedding but he found very creative ways to capture the moment. He had passion for his job and I could see that he wouldn’t want anything less than the best. And that’s what all the pictures turned out to be. What I loved the most was the way Whimboy’s photos captured our story and the moments, all the emotions during the ceremony were intricately captured by Whimboy – the joy, the excitement, the anxiety, nervousness, both joy and anxiety, every emotion and combination of emotions were captured. He was with us and he was there for us. Never did I feel that he was rushing through just to get the work done. For him, our event, our wedding, was also his event, his wedding. It’s amazing to have someone like that for a photographer. You’re assured to get the best results and we indeed got the best pictures.
