Mont Shenandoah

Camp Mont Shenandoah was the first place that we checked out when we were looking for wedding venues, and after walking the grounds we didn’t look at any others. It was very important to us to find a place where we could have friends and family spend an overnight together—so often weddings fly by and we wanted the opportunity to maximize the time we spend with those that are important to us—and the cabins at Camp Mont provided just the rustic, summer camp experience that we wanted to share. In addition, we chose to rent the beautiful Cabell Cottage and the Pill Box to provide us with accommodations that had large beds and air conditioning for the families of the bride and groom and those who came with young children. Everyone at the camp was wonderful to work with and we felt at home while we were there. We chose to have the camp itself do the catering and they provided a number of delicious dinner options, a brunch the next morning, and even a hot dog lunch for everyone on the second day after spending the morning and early afternoon hanging around camp and down by the river. The venue was beautiful—we got married in a green grove by the river—, the dinner was cozy in the Feed Bag, and the dancing was a blast in the West Lodge. We got lucky with the forecast, but with the covered space in the West Lodge we did have a back-up plan just in case. To say that the weekend was perfect would be an understatement. We have continued to get positive feedback from friends and family and have heard over and over that it was, “the best wedding!” If you are looking for an outdoor venue or a place to do an overnight experience, Camp Mont Shenandoah is a wonderful place to do so.

Our wedding at Camp Mont Shenandoah was truly special and unique, and I will always cherish the memories we made there. The venue is picturesque, from the cathedral-like waterfront along the river, to the overlook up on Vesper Hill, to the rustic cabins tucked in large meadows and forested areas. We had a large tent set up for the reception dinner, and then moved to the West Lodge for dancing afterwards, and the space and flow worked out perfectly. Out of all the camp plays, parties, and performances that have etched memories into the West Lodge, I felt like we were adding our own story to its history. The camp director could not have been more accommodating and helpful, an absolute pleasure to work with. I cannot recommend Camp Mont Shenandoah as a wedding venue enough!

Camp Mont Shenandoah is a beautiful place for a rustic outdoor wedding, the river, the trees and overall beauty of the camp makes for a perfect back drop to that special day. The convience of staying at the camp makes it much easier for you and your guests and having the lodge for the reception took the stress off of a rainy day plan! I can not say enough about how much I loved having my wedding at “camp”!

The best setting for the most perfect day! It was so beautiful having our wedding at Mont Shenandoah - the pictures are gorgeous and using West Lodge for our band was perfect! We danced the night away and enjoyed every second!
