The Woods at Canyon Run Ranch is a world apart from other wedding venues providing an authentic experience in a solar-powered, eco-friendly setting. Described as wild and handcrafted, we have been featured in the knot magazine as a Real Weddings for the past four years. Columbus magazine has nominated us as Ohio's Top Destination Wedding Venue, and HGTV's David Bromstadt did a photoshoot here. There are good reasons for all the attention for this nature-based venue. The rustic, casual warmth of the barn is a welcoming spot for your reception and can accommodate up to 150 guests. Near the stunning stone home is a charming, private apartment for getting dressed, with a large outdoor deck. The formal knot garden is a great setting for first look and other portraits, a photographer’s dream. But the real magic happens in the woods, where ceremonies are held. Located in the scenic Stillwater River Valley near Troy, OH, CRR encompasses 153 acres of lush woodlands and wildflower fields. The Woods on a ridge overlooking the valley is where couples exchange their wedding vows under a canopy of trees in total privacy. The bench seating in the woods is handmade from the trees on the property with space for wheelchairs. The curly willow arbor can be adorned with flowers or left bare, for a touch of whimsy. Two new electric 6-passenger limo golf carts, and a gas-powered 8-passenger Polaris Ranger are provided to shuttle guests from the parking area to the woods. The Canyon Run creek is the namesake of CRR and meanders through the property, pass the barn, flowing to a series of sparkling waterfalls. Perfect for outdoor lovers, with trees, the sound of trickling water, and vast fields of wildflowers all in a very private, secluded setting within 15 minutes of hotels and 30 minutes from an international airport. The Milk Parlor is separate from the reception area, a rustic space with original log ceiling beams and hand-hewn supports lit by Edison bulbs on antique pulleys that act a centerpiece for the long wood table that runs down the center of the Milk Parlor. The spacious Barn has high ceilings with original wood beams lit by thousands of fairy lights. There is a charming bar and DJ/Emcee loft. CRR’s package includes all the tables, cushioned Chiavari chairs, and a variety of decorative tables for your cake, guest book, desserts, etc. Various decor pieces are also included as is a venue coordinator and complimentary consultation prior to your wedding day. Catering is not provided. Any licensed caterer is welcome, allowing you the freedom to bring along your culinary team of choice. CRR works in collaboration with Craft Event Bar whose team offers friendly, professional bartending, fun DJ/Emcee service and a full spectrum of event planning. Due to the outdoor nature of Canyon Run, the season runs May through October, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays only.

I fell in love with this venue the second I saw it. I drove 2 hours to take the tour and knew this is where I wanted my wedding. The ceremony site is stunning and like nothing else you can get anywhere. Amy was very helpful with vendors and recommendations. My wedding was beautiful and perfect and I cannot imagine it of being anywhere else. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the bridal suite that the venue allows you to get ready in. It gets very hot and stuffy inside even with fans. Also, you have to be out of there WITH all your stuff at the start of the ceremony and they won’t let you back in. This caused a lot of added stress that I hated. Also, I was waiting for my dad to do a first look and Amy basically walked me out of the suite because “it’s time for your ceremony”. I get that she was trying to keep me on time but it’s my wedding, ya know? Once again, I do not regret booking here. It was overall an amazing experience and my wedding was perfect.

Amy and Gary were beyond wonderful. Having a wedding in the middle of a hurricane in Ohio was unexpected by Amy and Gary went out of their way to help us in every single aspect and we could not be more grateful. While we would have loved a full ceremony in the Woods, the ability to adjust and do a private ceremony while also adjusting to hold a full ceremony in the barn was an undertaking that could not have been possible without Amy and Gary. We are so grateful and highly recommend Canyon Run Ranch!

We absolutely loved our wedding day at Canyon Run. The property is gorgeous and set a gorgeous backdrop for our ceremony and reception. Everything felt so natural and authentic and we felt like we barely even needed to decorate anything ourselves! Amy and Gary were wonderful to work with. Amy makes sure she knows all the details of the wedding and made setting the reception layout and ordering linens seamless. Gary's metalwork on the property is so beautiful and he also went above and beyond to make us feel taken care of during our wedding, helping us make sure our getaway car stayed dry from a thunderstorm without being asked! We also hired the majority of our vendors based on their recommendations and all were great picks! Final shoutout goes to Wedding Cat - he was really a crowd favorite!

We had an absolutely beautiful spring wedding reception at Canyon Run Ranch. After touring, we knew it was the place for us, even though it was about a 40min drive from our ceremony in Dayton - still so worth it. Management was great to work with, and they were very helpful in assisting family members who arrived early before the reception to drop items off at the barn. The entire property is gorgeous, and we had many guests commenting on how beautiful everything was. Would definitely recommend Canyon Run Ranch.

We got married at Canyon Run Ranch on 9/10/23 and our day felt like a fairytale due to this amazing venue. The ceremony site in the woods was straight out of a dream and the reception light filled with fairy lights felt magical. Amy was amazing to work with and it is not hard to tell how dedicated and passionate she is about this venue and the couples that choose it to host the most important day of their lives. Minimal decorations are required because the venue itself is so beautiful. I could not recommend Canyon Run Ranch enough to anyone wishing to get married there. Also Sara with craft events is a must! She made our day seamless, perfect and stress free. The only thing that left us feeling disappointed was how fast the day flew by, I think both of us wish we could live in the moments of our dreamy Canyon Run Ranch wedding forever.

We got married 9/9/23 at Canyon Run Ranch. The weather was perfect and we got so many compliments on how beautiful and unique the venue was! Amy and Gary's property is unlike any other. Our guests loved riding the golf carts to and from the ceremony site to the barn where the reception was. They were able to enjoy the wildflowers and beautiful scenery along the way. We decided to go with Amy's recommended DJ, Bar, Floral/Decor and wedding coordination services which made it super easy to plan our day. They all know the property very well, have lots of experience, and work great together! Sarah, our coordinator, was the best!!! She kept everything organized and on time. She reached out to all of our vendors to ensure they knew where to go and what time to be there. We did not have a rehearsal so she told people when to walk/how to walk/and where to stand during the ceremony. She organized the entire day and made sure it all went smoothly. Hiring Sarah is a must!! Overall, we had a great time and our guests did too!

The beauty of this venue is simply breathtaking. From the enchanted wooded ceremony, beautiful landscape and unique touches to the barn/cocktail hour area, every corner seemed like it was designed to create lasting memories and stunning photographs! Amy and Gary Ward went above and beyond to make our wedding planning flawless. From our initial inquiry to the final moments of the reception, their attention to detail and genuine care for our event were evident. Canyon Run set the bar incredibly high for any future events we attend or plan. We whole heartedly give you a five-star rating and our heartfelt recommendation!

Canyon Run Ranch is the most beautiful place for your big day! If you want rustic and magic, this is your venue! Amy was so nice and accommodating as I was planning my wedding from across the country. So friendly and personable! The woods, gorgeous. The barn, gorgeous. The scenery, gorgeous! No better place for my husband and I to have tied the knot!

We simply cannot say enough positive things about this venue, it's owner, and our experience! To say that it was the wedding of our dreams would be a complete and total understatement. Amy & Gary (the owners) were unbelievable throughout the entire process. They made everything incredibly easy for us and made our day the most magical, special day possible. Every guest was obsessed with our venue calling it "the most beautiful wedding they've ever seen" and anyone who met Amy had nothing but positive things to say. Would 10000% get married here again and truly have nothing that we would've changed about our day or experience with them! The most perfect venue! Canyon Run Ranch is such a special and unique place - you can't go wrong in choosing it ! Canyon Run Ranch is THE place to book your wedding venue. From the first tour of the grounds right up to the end of the reception, Amy and Gary were present and ready to lend a helping hand. It began to rain an hour before my ceremony was supposed to begin and when it seemed like all hope of having the ceremony outside was lost, they took me up to the venue and left the choice up to me. Rain cleared up and we had the most beautiful outdoor wedding. There were even rainbows, which just added to the natural awe of the venue itself. They made the entire process so smooth and enjoyable and I will recommend this space to all my friends and families for their blessed events!

Amy & Gary’s venue and home is an absolute dream come true. This was the very first and last place I toured. The moment I pulled into their driveway I knew it was the one. There is nothing lacking and I can’t possibly think of anything that needs improvement. Amy has been an absolute gem to work with from start to finish. I would do anything in the world to relive my beautiful wedding. I encourage everyone to have their wedding here, you will not be disappointed. The ceremony in the woods with the willow branch arch is pure perfection. The barn and milk parlor are perfect for the party! The wildflower fields offer the perfect photo opp! We opted to offer our guests honey from Amy’s bee farm and it was an absolute hit. We cannot thank Amy and Gary enough.

We had a wonderful wedding here! It was truly a dream come true. Amy and the staff were wonderful to work with! They were attentive without being hovering and made sure everything was running smoothly in the background! The bridesmaid getting ready suite was great and we loved the mimosas! This venue is worth every penny!!! I will never stop recommending canyon run ranch!

Absolutely perfect! Cannot recommend this venue enough! Amy is amazing and an even better person. She and her husband Gary were very helpful in the planning process. Also her daughter Carly was our DJ and our bar service. Carly killed it as well! Keeping the party going with fast service at the bar. The woods ceremony is the best part. We received so many compliments about the woods and the ranch in general. Would highly recommend Canyon Run Ranch

We are nature people so we knew we wanted a summer outdoor wedding in the woods. We toured Mohican, loved it, and then found Canyon Run Ranch and thought we should check it out "just in case." It blew us away and felt much more us than the other venue. There is a beautiful energy in the forest ceremony site and the barn is gorgeous. Our guests loved this venue. Our theme was organic woodland with greenery and white flowers and dusty blue and gold accents. I wanted to feel like a forest goddess and I did :) As an animal lover, one of my favorite parts of the day was hanging out and taking pictures with Lightening, one of the stunning (15 hands high) resident horses. The pictures from this venue will be unreal. Everything was breathtaking and I would do it all again. The only downside was that we lost a lot of money in 2020 when we had to reschedule with this venue due to COVID-19, and that was a major stressor for us but we did not want to risk anyone getting sick. All of our other vendors rescheduled with no charge. Without this unforeseen issue, this was the perfect venue. I would, and have, recommended this venue to others and would love to go back someday. My husband and I got married here 9/12/2020 and everything about the day and leading up to it was absolutely perfect! Amy was helpful throughout the entire process giving us tons of insight and helpful hints. Gary was so good the day of the wedding making sure everyone got up to the ceremony site safely. Even with COVID-19 in place, our day was an absolute dream. This venue is tucked away quietly in the woods and if you don't know it's there you may miss it, so be sure to look it's absolutely worth it! After our day we have received so many compliments from our guest about the beauty, accommodations and overall feel this venue has to offer. I will forever recommend Amy & Gary's place to any friends or family looking for their perfect venue.

We absolutely LOVED Canyon Run Ranch! The venue was unique and everything we could have ever wanted for our outdoor summer wedding!! It was a venue enjoyed by all and we are still getting compliments, from our guests, about our choice of venue. On top of a beautiful venue spot, Amy and Cheyenne (wedding coordinator recommended by them) were quick to respond to all emails and questions. They made the planning process simple and stress free! And although I didn't meet Gary (Amy's husband), he was instrumental in helping everything run smoothly - I'm sure! I was also told that he was very helpful at the end of the night when one of my bridesmaids locked her keys in her trunk :) FYI: We also took our winter engagement pictures at Canyon Run and the property all covered in snow was equally as beautiful - something to keep in mind if you end up booking with them.

I am a Wedding Officiant and I love doing weddings at Canyon Run Ranch. The area on top of the hill in a grove of trees is perfect for the outdoor ceremony. The barn is a great area for a wonderful reception/party. Amy and the staff are wonderful to work with. I go to lots of venues in the area and Canyon Run Ranch is one of my favorites. Canyon Run Ranch is a beautiful and magical wedding and event venue north of Dayton, OH outside of a darling town called Pleasant Hill. Viva la Strings has performed the music for MANY wedding ceremonies and cocktail hours. We truly enjoy the venue with the beautiful woods and rustic barn, however, that would mean nothing if it were not for the owners who take care of every detail for their clients as well as the vendors. Even one cold Oct. (almost too cold for our violin, viola and cello to be safe for our instruments and our comfort to play) Amy and her staff pulled out a massive gas heater and brought it to the woods for us to play under to keep warm. We highly recommend Canyon Run Ranch for the rustic and romantic wedding or event! Viva la Strings returns often and it's one of our fav wedding gigs!

My husband and I got married there on 08/17/19. It was absolutely magical and beautiful! The venue is so gorgeous already we didn't really have to decorate! Amy and her husband were extremely helpful, not only before the wedding but also during. Amy made sure the ceremony site was swept and ready to go. They also lit a fire for us. They were always quick to respond to any issues or questions. Their daughter Carly was a huge hit being my DJ. She did everything perfectly. It was really the best day of our lives! The venue is so unique and is the perfect setting for a relaxed wedding.

We got married at the Canyon Run Ranch in June 2019 and it truly was amazing. Our guests were blown away by how beautiful it was and how amazing they were, and Amy was so helpful. No one expected the ceremony site to be as exceptionally unique as it was, perfect for my husband and I. The property was just large enough where people could walk around and not be crammed into the barn, but it was very comfortable and so beautifully decorated, we did not add much. Everything is so lush and green. 10/10 would recommend

Our daughter and her fiance were married 5/24/2019 at Canyon Run Ranch. They elected to get married in the wooded setting and have the reception in the barn, which was beautifully arranged for our gathering of nearly 150. As you come on the property, your first sight is the owners' beautiful stone house, built in the early 20th century. This is available for the bride and bridesmaids for preparation. There are many beautiful places for photographs. The barn is a 19th century historic structure, beautifully lit on the main level and the lower level. The owners have arranged the parking and facilities to accommodate those who need extra assistance, including having off road vehicles to transport people to the wooded ceremony site. The property's natural beauty is varied, with hills, meadows, wooded areas, gorges, and a stream. This venue is for those who want to enjoy the beauty of nature, with the house and barn providing a fabulous historic, vintage vibe.

As soon as my fiancé and I toured Canyon Run Ranch, we knew this is exactly where we wanted to be married. We had looked at a few other venues, and nothing seemed to fit. From the moment we toured this venue my husband and I knew it was our dream venue. Amy was absolutely amazing from the first meeting all the way up the day. They go above and beyond to help make your day perfect, from leaving sparkling cider in the bridal suite to Gary running inside to get a towel to clean off the golf cart before I rode up to the ceremony site. They definitely pour everything into this venue and you will not regret making it your venue for your special day.

There are too many wonderful things to say about this AMAZING venue. It is so peaceful, private, intimate, and this list goes on and on about this gem of a property. Amy and Gary were so helpful from start to finish and very accommodating to our older and disabled family, we can not thank you enough! Every single one of our guests were wowed about the day. A lot of guests didn’t even know the venue existed, that’s how private the location is. Our food was amazingly delicious, the flowers were beautiful, Carly did a great job with the music and Craft Event Bar. The only thing we would change, would be to make the whole experience longer. This was such a special day and didn’t want it to end. Thank you Amy and Gary for great hospitality, we will cherish this day for the rest of our lives.

Canyon Run Ranch is absolutely beautiful. Amy and Gary really care about their property and customers. It was raining on my wedding day and we made the last minute decision to move the ceremony to the barn. They adapted quickly and made sure everything was set up! The venue is gorgeous and the wedding was great. The photos from the ranch look AMAZING!

My husband and I were married at Canyon Run Ranch on 10-13-2018 and wish we could rewind and go back to this magical place. We were blown away by our overall experience. This gorgeous location is better than any place we could have imagined. Without question, Canyon Run Ranch gives you a truly intimate feel, along with feeling as if you are completely off the map, which is more than enough to make you never want to leave. Not to mention the owners, Amy and Gary, who were beyond delightful and nothing but helpful and accommodating. Amy even provided us with recommendations for different vendors, a handful of which we hired (whom we LOVE!) and offered such hospitality and warmth each time we visited for a walk-through. Amy was always ready and willing to answer any and every question we had during our nearly 2-year planning process and she was always quick to reply! On the day of the wedding, we had use of a beautiful bridal suite at one end of their home on the property. It was tranquil and just what was needed before the true hustle and bustle started! Canyon Run Ranch played a huge part in the success of our weekend and the amount of our guests who are still talking about your venue is testament to that. Amy and Gary, thank you for everything! It was a privilege and an honor to work with you and make our wedding day a dream come true!

As soon as I saw Canyon Run Ranch online, I knew it was the setting I wanted for my wedding. From the scenic land and secluded ceremony space in the woods to the charming and intimate barn, you can tell that the owners, Amy and Gary, put so much care and attention into making it a unique and absolutely breathtaking venue. Amy was super helpful throughout the entire process and kept me up-to-date with any changes they were making to the property. The day of our wedding, my bridal party and I were greeted with mimosas from Amy and even though it was raining, the property was in perfect condition. Plus, their two golf carts were so helpful transporting guests back to the woods along with my bridal party. I can't thank Amy and Gary enough for everything they did for me that day along with taking the time to create such a unique and romantic venue.

They made sure we had everything we needed, even extra bobby pins and a nice hanger for my dress! We absolutely loved our wedding at Canyon Run Ranch in August. I am a huge worrier and thought about every single thing that could go wrong, however on the day of our wedding I couldn't find anything to worry about! Aesthetic - the structures and land at Canyon Run Ranch are absolutely beautiful in every season. If you don't want to spend a ton of money on decorating, this is a great option for you. Also, don't be worried about it feeling too "country" if that's not what you're going for. Owners - Amy was so helpful on the day of the wedding as well as being responsive to emails in the months leading up to the wedding. I really wanted to hang cascading paper flowers and she took my vision a step further by artistically hanging the strands I had made from a branch. She also took it upon herself to put flowers on the arch when we noticed to florist had not. Considerations - It's great that they provide golf carts for guests to use as it would have been very difficult for our grandparents to get around. Do keep this in mind as there is a stretch in the woods to the ceremony site that the golf carts don't go. Also, because of the expansive property I would suggest at least a day of coordinator to make things go smoothly. Guest Reviews - Our guests had a wonderful time. We received so many compliments about how "idyllic" our venue was.

Her goal is to make sure you never have to worry about a thing! This venue is constantly improving what is already perfect in order to make your wedding special! My husband and I knew we wanted a rustic wedding, so when we went on a tour of Canyon Run Ranch we knew right away this was our venue. It has so much character and charm that we fell in love immediately. The owner, Amy, is so easy to work with and I could always count on her to get back with me in a timely manner with whatever questions that I had. The ceremony was beautiful!!! It’s tucked away in the woods and just so dreamy and peaceful. The reception was held in their amazing historic barn with cocktail hour being held right underneath it. We got so many compliments on our venue from our guests, the night was just perfect. Having the golf carts available to transport guests to and from the ceremony cite was so helpful. The ONLY thing that I would change about the venue would be the bridal suite. We were only able to get into it 2 1/2 hours before the ceremony began, which made it stressful to get to the venue at 9am to start decorating, back to the hotel for hair/makeup for the bridal party, then back again to the venue to begin pictures. It would’ve been nice to relax in one spot the entire day without having to do a lot of driving. Other than that, everything was absolutely perfect! I would recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for something that came right out of Pinterest under the “rustic wedding” tab. :)

My husband Adam and I were searching for the perfect rustic venue for our wedding. We were striking out. I came home from work one night and he was like you have to see this video. I was in love and we called the next day. When Amy said we have one Saturday left in May 2018 we said when can we see it. This was in the Fall if 2017. It was chilly but so beautiful and we were grinning from ear to ear after going to see it in person. We couldn’t pay the deposit fast enough. Amy and Gary have a real gem with the property, but they are the icing on the cake. They told us how beautiful the venue is in May with the wildflowers, lush woods, and water flowing nearby. We were nervous about the weather but we knew we had plan B and that the barn was so very beautiful too! Canyon Run Ranch did not disappoint. It was absolutely magical. I know everyone feels this way about their wedding but so many of our guests commented on how much they loved Canyon Run Ranch. It was the perfect charming rustic venue and our fairytale wedding dream came true. Amy was so helpful and responsive. Gary loved telling us about all of the unique features of Canyon Run Ranch and the history behind it. It was perfect and we didn’t want it to end! We would highly recommend Canyon Run Ranch! You will not regret choosing this venue for your wedding!

This venue provided a perfect and a magical wedding day for us. Our wedding was not very traditional and Amy was very accommodating. The venue and the property as a whole is absolutely beautiful and I would recommend this venue to anyone who is looking to have a rustic wedding. We had our dream wedding.

We got married at Canyon Run the first weekend in November and it was everything we could have ever imagined and more! From the first time we saw it we knew that it would be the perfect place to get married. Our guests were so amazed with how unique and beautiful every detail on the land and in the barn was. In a time were barn weddings are becoming more common, I promise you no other barn will stand out in comparison to this. Amy and Gary were amazing throughout the wedding process. I was worried that planning a wedding 2 hours away would be stressful, but they were always an email or phone call away for whatever we needed. We truly cannot thank you Canyon Run enough for allowing us to have our dream wedding.

Our wedding at Canyon Run was out of a magazine. Amy and Gary really are so easy to work with and their property is drop dead gorgeous- our guests could not stop talking about how beautiful the venue was. From mimosas at the house to driving us to a field of wildflowers to pictures, I could tell that they really wanted us to have a great experience and I really appreciated that. However, we did have some seriously major issues with their required bartending company (a family member) and I really think that requiring their couples to use this company really puts a damper on what could be a truly magical experience. Hopefully they will change this in the future.

Canyon Run Ranch was magical!! Our ceremony was held in the woods and we were married under this whimsical curly willow arch. Our reception was held inside a beautiful barn made in the 1800's with twinkle lights! All of the wedding guests were in awe of the venue and we kept getting complimented on choosing this! The venue made it perfect for our wedding theme which was an enchanted, fairytale wedding. Amy and Gary are awesome people. They take great pride and care of their property. The bartenders they provide are awesome too! They genuinely care about all the wedding guests! The venue is perfect. I cannot express how grateful I am for choosing Canyon Run Ranch. Thank you for making our dreams come true, Amy!!

This was a breath taking venue.. and we knew it as soon as you turn down the drive way. From the gorgeous bridge you cross to their large stone house to the unique barn and magical Ceremony site in the woods.. it just seems you're entering into a dream. Couldn't be more thankful that they opened up their property for others to make such valuable memories at. Amy and her husband were very helpful and accommodating. My wedding planning brought a horribly wrinkled aisle runner and Amy knew that was unacceptable and put her own out there and stapled it down to stay nice. That meant so much and she didn't have to do that. We couldn't be happier, and feel so grateful! Thanks again Canyon Run!!
