From the time we booked our venue to the end of our reception, Eddie was so helpful and executed a flawless day for us. Chesapeake Inn Ballroom is a hotel wedding venue situated in Chesapeake City, MD. at the Chandler House (backyard vibes: check), our cocktail hour was in the verranda/terrace (relaxed/open air vibes: check), our reception was in the Ballroom (fancy vibes: check), and all of it was waterfront (East Coast vibes: super check!). We really could not ask for a more perfect location!!
We would be remiss if we did not mention that a perfect location was made more perfect by wonderful people. Eddie was AMAZING to work with. We were a very anxious couple and he reassured us that everything would work out. He connected us with nearly all of our vendors, who knew everything like the back of their hand. (Family vibes: check!)
Lastly, the Chesapeake Inn was fully worth the cost. There were tiers for meal options, customizable bar packages, and several add-on choices. We were able to make it work to our budget without any sacrifices. Plus the food was DELICIOUS! (Budget friendly: check!)

mply wanted to take care of you all night long (huge shout out to Melissa for bustling my dress, Brooke for coordinating with vendors and assisting with timeline, Kate and Stacy at the bar, and of course Lindsey - the most kind and attentive coordinator from the Inn). The food was even better than when we first did our tasting, and many guests were raving over the mashed potatoes - clearly the Inn cares about even the details of the side dish. The stary night ball room ceiling was magical as the evening went on. If Chesapeake City is your vibe, I can promise you will have the best wedding experience at the Inn. Don't forget to end your night at the Tiki Bar to keep your after party going - super convenient no one had to drive anywhere. ith Lindsey and she made everything so easy and simple. We had a small dinner with family on the Terrace and it was absolutely perfect. We created a menu for the event, and the food was fantastic. The atmosphere was great and the staff was so helpful. We really couldn't have asked for a better event. The only "negative" of the Terrace was the noise from the lower deck. It did not bother us, as we were a small group, but if you are looking for a quiet affair an inside room might be preferable. We really enjoyed having the band so close to us and hearing the live music.

rience. Eddie (Greer) and his staff are top-notch and made the entire evening magical. The planning process over the past year has been a dream because of Eddie's consistent communication with us (we never seemed to bother him, no matter how many emails or changes we made!).
We had the ceremony in the Ballroom, then the cocktail hour on the Veranda and Terrace while the staff flipped the ballroom for the reception. The entire event went so smoothly that we were able to take a few minutes for ourselves while the team changed things around us and we didn't even notice. They set up all of the decorations we provided beautifully with minimal direction from us a few nights before the event.
The food was amazing. From the hors d'oeurves through to the dessert tables, there wasn't a dish or item that wasn't a hit. Everyone raved about the food - and are still raving about it! The team was great about making sure that we (the bride and groom) had food at our table, as well. They brought in hors d'ouevres to us while we were in between the ceremony and reception, they made sure our dinner plates were covered with warmers when we didn't make it back to our sweetheart table as dinner was brought out, and they made sure to swing through the dessert room for us and plated up several desserts so that we didn't miss out on those while we were socializing.
There is just not enough good that I can say about the entire experience! The staff at Chesapeake Inn Ballroom made our wedding seamless, easy, and magical!

I'm originally from Maryland and moved to NJ so I had guests coming down to stay over in the different local Bed & Breakfasts they have over town. I really was able to give them the Maryland experience: on the water, delicious seafood, and great service! The boys all hung out at the tiki bar downstairs for drinks, food, and to watch the game while we were upstairs.
The coolest part is that in the middle the shower, an enormous cargo boat came through the canal!!!! Everyone was blown away!!
Afterwards, those who could stay for the night joined the guys downstairs at the tiki bar and we had a fun filled night.

We chose to have cocktail hour on the deck which guests loved. Everyone commented that they have never been to a wedding with so much food - 8 appetizers plus salad, appetizer main course and sides at dinner and sweet and coffee table. Eddie was very responsive. We had our ceremony outside at the Moon Property and I was worried because it's a newer venue but it all went off without a hitch.

die helps you every step of the way, is very quick to return an emails or phone calls you may have and is extremely helpful in the whole process. Andy the dockmaster was also extremely helpful when it came to wanting boats on the docks. He was extremely friendly to each boat guest we had and helped us out greatly. There is not enough I can say about the staff at the Chesapeake Inn. They treated our guest with the most respect and made sure everyone was having a great time. My husband and I could not have imagined having our reception anywhere else! The food, the venue, the service, the view and the staff are above and beyond anything we could have ever imagined! The prices are extremely comparable to any other venue with no "surprise" money due at the end.

y dreamy and romantic! If you've ever had dinner at The Chesapeake Inn, I don't have to tell you how good the food is. We got so many compliments from our guests on how much they enjoyed the food! The staff was great. They don't nickle and dime you like a lot of caterers that have a $2/person cake cutting fee. The Chesapeake Inn Ballroom is very upfront about all of their costs -- what's included and what's not -- so there are no surprises. Our wedding was perfect and I could not have asked for more!

A few days before the wedding when we met with Eddie to finalize the details, he had check lists for me, and had specific steps he took to ensure nothing would be missed. The food was AMAZING!! We had so many compliments on the food, the professionalism and atmosphere. We had a day Wedding and myself, my husband, our families, and closest friends all stayed after and went to the tiki bar for the night - the whole staff knew who I was and made sure we were taken care of while there. banquet manager, was extremely helpful and responsive through the planning process. He provided constructive feedback when we suggested various ideas, but in the end, he's always there to make sure everything suits your style. We also couldn't say enough about the staff at Chesapeake Inn. Everyone worked together to make sure the night ran smoothly. It was important to us that we had a good time with a minimal amount of stress, and that's exactly what we did. They were professional and friendly and this was noticed by our guests.
People also loved the feel of Chesapeake City and thought the setting on the water was beautiful. The banquet room is unique and at night absolutely breathtaking. The ceiling and chandelier really add an elegant and intimate feel to the room. With regards to the food, we couldn't be happier. The appetizers and entrees were filling and delicious. We served filet mignon and crabcakes and chicken and scallops and we had numerous guests comment that it was the best food they've had at a wedding. We'd highly recommend the crabcakes.
Chesapeake Inn has the added benefit of being located in Chesapeake City, which is a historic and quaint little town. If you'd like (as we did), you can have your guests stay in bed and breakfasts, have your wedding at church or Pell's Garden, and reception at Chesapeake Inn and never have them leave the town. There are also several hotels within 10-15 minutes of the town if you have more guests than the B&B's can accommodate (we ran shuttles to and from the hotels so our guests didn't have to drive).
We would offer some constructive criticism but we honestly have nothing worth mentioning. The location, ballroom, food, and service were impeccable and the price was very reasonable. A sincere thank you to Chesapeake Inn for making our day so memorable!

A night part of the night was it was colder than expected so we ended up getting into our private cocktail hour early; so we were able to go into cocktail hour to see everyone and mingle with each table before dinner so it made a lot of dancing time for us! Eddie the planner there was AMAZING and did everything and anything we needed to make our night special! I work recommend this venue for a small or large wedding and i would go to see it at night time before deciding because the room looks A LOT different from daytime to nighttime.

Chesapeake Inn KNOWS how to throw a wedding. And they don't nickle and dime you like a lot of places. Our package was basically all inclusive (service, gratuity, valet parking, all you can drink bar, champagne toast, two entree choices for guests, 5 course service, so much food at the cocktail hour - the food just KEPT coming, includes cake by a professional and AWESOME cake baker, linens, place settings...) I just can't say enough about how WONDERFUL Chesapeake Inn and their staff was. We had our Rehearsal Dinner in their restaurant, the wedding in the Ballroom, the After party at their Tiki Bar, and the Next day Farewell Brunch in their private veranda... hosted one event at a time. The food was delicious!!! My guests kept raving about how good the hors d'oeuvres and the meals were. Eddie Greer (the ballroom manager) was easy to work with and gave excellent suggestions throughout the whole process. The nicest part for us was knowing that everything was taken care of and that we could relax afterwards at our room at the B&B in town that was part of the package. Overall, having the reception at the Chesapeake Inn was one of the best choices my husband and I made.

I was not feeling the best and I asked for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and my request was fulfilled :)

stop talking about how they had never tasted better food, and how gorgeous the hall was. Eddie, the coordinator for Chesapeake Inn, was incredibly easy to work with, and was very flexible. He works to make the day yours, and will work with you to make whatever you want a reality. If you can get a date at the Chesapeake Inn, TAKE IT!!!!!! It is well worth the money to have a reception you will never forget!

nd the location totally impressed our guest from the amazing food (beyond better than any other wedding ive attended) to the super beautiful ballroom. If Chesapeake Inn is available for your wedding day jump on it. SO WORTH IT!!

are of organizing all of our various vendors, so I didn't have to worry about it!
Everything was included in the per-person price (open bar, all of the food, cake, tables, chairs, linens, dishes, drinkware, etc). It's important to see what you venue includes, because all of those little expenses add up. That's why I liked having our venue take care of everything!
We have received so many compliments about how our wedding reception was the best one that anyone was at (food, venue, ect.)....and I honestly believed all of our guests, because I had a blast!

! after lloking at so many venues we came back to this small town, vinatge ballroom on the water with all the speaical touches that make a wedding memorable! valet parking, adorable bed and breakfast, excellemnt food. BEAUTIFUL ballroom with beautiful views, NICE chairs!!!!! the things that cost extra at other venues were included here! thats a value! thank you chesapeake Inn for making our day so special!

I would have another event at the Chesapeake Inn in a heartbeat. They offered us many options so we could do our wedding within our budget. The setting was beautiful on the water...
in Chesapeake City. Pictures are gorgeous with the water and bridge in the background. The staff was wonderful, extremely helpful, and willing to answer any questions I had. We had the ceremony in the Veranda room with 75 guests, and the reception in the Ballroom. We got so many compliments on the setting, food, the whole day was perfect!
