Okay... I'm far enough removed from the situation where I can now write a non-emotional review about Ponte. I'm never one who writes reviews for anything, but this entire experienc...e warrants a review. My now-husband and I LOVED Ponte and knew it was the place the second we toured it back in 2019. We booked our 4/4/2020 wedding here, which, like many weddings, was cancelled due to COVID-19. When the pandemic started, Ponte never reached out to us. After we reached out, and because the world shut down so close to our date, Ponte only allowed us to schedule to a new date in 2020, so we settled on September (LOL). Around August, California was deep in lockdown, so we emailed the team again to discuss our options. The team allowed us to push out a year, and sent me an email stating that everything in the contract was the same, just the date had changed. I'm a fool, because I signed it without realizing that they had changed our ceremony location and removed our ability to use the bridal cottages because they were going to start doing 2 weddings a day again. I reached out to our coordinator, who I then found out had been let go due to COVID. After some back and forth where I showed them our original contract and the email in writing stating that nothing had changed but the date, Ponte wouldn't budge. I offered to do a weekday wedding in order to get our originally promised amenities. Ponte responded by saying they no longer wanted to work with us and cancelled our contract entirely. Although they refunded our deposit, the entire customer service experience was laughable. Even pre-pandemic, our coordinator typically took 5 days to a week to respond. Not one time did Ponte charge our credit card on-time as outlined in our payment-plan, so we would reach out to remind them of our overdue payment to make sure we wouldn't be penalized for breach of contract. They never reached out to schedule a tasting, and my now-husband and I felt like "a number" the entire time. Ponte is gorgeous and has great food-- but look elsewhere for your wedding. My husband and I finally eloped just the two of us, stress-free, in Big Sur.
