Ailecia was fantastic!
From the very beginning the whole process was super smooth and she was a delight to meet with, both as a professional and just as a friendly face to help out with the general undertaking of a wedding. She clicked with us immediately and had a great intuition on what kind of photos we would want when we were unsure and (I cannot overstate this enough) was absolutely critical to the wedding running smoothly, giving guidance and direction for taking photos on the town, herding people together for family photos, and giving structure to the event with first dance and cake-cutting photos. Her shining personality during the whole thing was just the icing on the cake. I'd also like to note that her assistants for engagement photos and the photo booth at our wedding were both fantastic.
During the reception, the photo booth with props was a surprise hit and really elevated the atmosphere and gave everyone something to go home with; the pictures themselves or even just a fun memory. Her experience alone was worth every cent, and on top of that, the humongous pile of terrific photos left us completely amazed.
In the end, after the whole event and our honeymoon leaving us exhausted, Ailecia also had a super easy and straightforward process for everyone to view the photos and for us to choose our favorites for edits. We actually followed up on this kind of late and she was still super accommodating, so I just want to compliment that.
Overall, we could not be happier. I'd recommend Ailecia as highly as possible.
Phatx and I could not be happier with the entire experience. I have told all of my friends who have commented on the amazing job that you did that there is a reason why I continue to go back to you. Someone on a friend’s facebook commented about how beautiful David and Stephany looked. In my reply I realized that the real reason why I wanted special photo opportunities for my family and friends is not only for them but also for my own failing memory that I want to have a place where I can look and know that these are the most important people in my life. Even without the brain injury sometimes in old age we loose our cognitive abilities and I feel like documentation in photos and videos are the best way to knowing what we want to remember when we no longer have that capability.

I love making night and sunset portraits using off-camera flash to create a more dynamic image. In camera double exposures are a specialty too. If you want ORIGINAL content, I'm your grrrl!
We are LGBTQIA+ friendly and love working with gender non-conforming, same-sex couples, triads and polyamorous clients and transgender clients. Lead photographer, Ailecia Ruscin, is committed to documenting racial/cultural/religious diversity and helping people feel truly respected when we work with them. And yes, we work with heterosexual couples too--though it's rare, we do not discriminate! We photograph weddings in churches, synagogues and for pagans. Everyone is special to me and I take pride in getting to know my clients and what makes them tick!
We have all inclusive wedding packages with engagement sessions and full printing rights. We also have build your own packages for couples who want a little bit of this and a little bit of that. We also offer bridal boudoir, couples' boudoir, bachelor/bachelorette parties family portraits, rehearsal dinner coverage and more! Just inquire about what YOU are looking for and we will build you the perfect package for services you desire and budget.
Wedding packages include an engagement session, full printing rights, and a customizable photo booth for every reception. We are regularly complimented on our chill day-of demeanor and go-with-the-flow attitude, while being super organized in the planning stage.

Hi, I’m a 49 year old award-winning photographer/hipster nerd from Lawrence, KS. I first got into photography in the mid-90s shooting DIY punk shows in living rooms in Alabama during high school. I got my photography education in the late 1990s at Pittsburgh Filmmakers where I learned to develop & print film from negatives. My hobbies include country drive, attending comedy shows, playing with experimental photo techniques & tabletop games. The 6-4 is my favorite domino to start a game with. I am radically committed to celebrating the differences between people & the uniqueness all of us hold. I love working with people from different faiths, genders, sexualities & races than my own. I have a master’s degree in American Studies, which is the study of the intersections of race, class, gender, sexuality, nationality, & religion. I work a lot in the Chabad Jewish community, the LGBTQIA+ community & with hardworking people of all persuasions. My radical papers were donated to the Spencer Research Library at KU for projects such as the North American Anarchist Gathering, Solidarity! Radical infoshop, FWORD (Feminist Women Organization Radical Discourse), Queer as F*ck Sober Dance Parties, Mother Earth Collective, Southern Girls Convention and other radical social movement gatherings, protests and conferences.
