10/10. So impressed with Gary & Redwood & Rye Studio. Not only is Gary an incredible talent, his direction and personality are what make him extra special. Wedding photos with larg...
e groups and families can be difficult and stressful, but the way Gary handles it and takes charges is unmatched. We were able to get all the photos we needed and wanted and made it to cocktail hour! I love that he scoped out the area and then came back to us with places that would be great for photos. He has such a creative eye and the pictures are better than I could have imagined.
Not to mention all my friends loved Gary! Would 100% recommend!
Choosing Redwood & Rye as our photographers was one of the best wedding decisions we made. The entire process was stress-free and seamless with them - from our first intro call all...
the way through to finalizing our album. Gary, Lisa & Jamie are not only incredibly talented, they're also genuinely awesome people (which is important for someone who's spending so much time with you on your wedding day!). We were absolutely blown away by both our engagement photos & wedding photos (Gary even hustled to get our wedding photos to us in advance of Thanksgiving so we could look at them in-person with family). They have a way of bottling genuine emotion with their photos - every time we look at them, we're taken right back to how we felt on that magical day. We would recommend Redwood & Rye without hesitation, they are amazing.
My fiancé and I had our engagement photos shot by Gary over the summer. We could not have been more happy about how the photos came out! They were just what we were looking for. Ga...

amie even put together a slide show that i could easily share with family and friends. I would absolutely recommend Redwood and Rye to anyone looking for a top notch wedding photographer.
Lets start this review off the right way - my wife and I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to document our celebration of love with!! When we set out to find our we...
dding photographer, we had a few crucial criteria to help navigate the abyss but didn't expect to make such close friends with the team we chose in the process. Gary and Lisa are superb people, with a passion and flair for life that goes far beyond the camera lens. Gary has a serious eye for detail and an uncanny ability to reinterpret a moment in an elevated perspective - taking inspiration from both set and setting. This guy is truly a photographer's photographer, and blessed with a heart of gold. The portfolio of R&R isn't a collection of one-off's; there's an underlying thought and intent to every shot you see, and this is exactly how Gary approaches his work - constant progression, evolution, and inspired reinterpretation. His photos tell your story in a way you experience, but cannot describe. I can't recommend his work highly enough.
Gary and Lisa were super helpful from start to finish. Extremely responsive, attentive, and above all - genuine.
The work of R&R in many respects speaks for itself. But what is important to note is that these aren't just face-value talents; they're skills that augment the personalities of some seriously wonderful people who - as is certainly true in our case - have become long-term friends. Their flexibility in working with our budgetary requirements and still delivering a top shelf experience is something we hold in high regard.
Day of the wedding? Gary was on-time, organized, in solid spirits and ready to party! From his arrival on throughout the night, he was involved in the guidance and direction of our Groomsmen, our Bridesmaids, and most importantly - ourselves - and seamlessly oscillated between casual observer to active engager. Trust me, this level of dynamism is what you want in a photographer, otherwise you're bound to end up with a collection of shots that tell the same exact story from the same exact perspective, start to finish. Which gets stale and repetitive real quick. Yea, those two words are not ones you want to think of on a day that you're supposed to look back on with smiles for the rest of your days.
Not only did we get an incomparable collection of photos from our love celebration, but we made some life-long friends in the process. Highest recommendations to Redwood & Rye. This glass of Nikka small batch is raised to you!!

We hired Gary to shoot our wedding and could not be happier with the decision. Gary photographed my sister's wedding and we had been so impressed with how her photos turned out and...
how great he was to work with that we knew we wanted to hire him for our wedding, when the time came. Not only is Gary unbelievably talented (we are particularly stunned by the low-lighting photos he took in the evening and how amazing they came out!), he is also a complete pleasure to work with. He is easy going but always professional, an excellent listener (he really took into account the things we wanted to remember and highlight about our day in our photos), and was always ready to offer good advice to us in the planning process when we needed it. We felt that pricing was incredibly fair given the quality of our photos and the items included in our package, including an additional photographer on site with Gary during the wedding. He even prepared a quick photo deck on an iPad so that folks could take a peek at our first look photos and portraits at the reception, which was such a nice touch. I still have guests asking me for his contact information! Gary and his team were great about communication throughout the planning process, and following the wedding as well. We are so grateful to Redwood + Rye for helping us preserve such lovely memories of our day!
Jamie was amazing and captured exactly what I wanted and then some!
Gary of Redwood and Rye was our wedding photographer, and we are so happy that he was there to capture our special day. We spoke with his team a few times before any contracts were...
signed to make sure that our artistic visions aligned. We were looking for photographers with a creative bent – we didn’t just want photographs that were the standard portraits but were hoping for shots that had creative compositions and features.
Gary was very responsive before our wedding, and we had the opportunity to discuss with him what would work best for our photographs (locations, times, etc.). We ended up taking photographs before, during, and after the wedding and were therefore able to capture our wedding in so many different types of light. Gary was particularly accommodating when our families wanted lots of photographs with family groups.
As a special touch, Gary created a quick slideshow for us to see at the wedding. We immediately knew that we had made the best choice when we got to see just a few of the photographs that he had taken. They captured the spirit of the day and had a great creative touch to them. We recently got to see the rest of our photographs at a reveal event, and they all look fantastic. He captured so many special moments that we will treasure forever. The creativity and originality that is infused into several of the pictures is outstanding, and it is so refreshing to be able to see our wedding from many different “views.” Gary and his team have a sharp eye for getting photographs that will work well.
We will definitely recommend Redwood and Rye to our friends who are looking for a spectacular, creative photographer for their event!
We loved working with Mike. He was so attentive and helpful without being pushy. He was also very discrete throughout the day and good at making everyone feel comfortable. We barel...
y noticed he was there! He has an amazing eye and we were absolutely thrilled with how the pictures came out.
My husband and I did find the reveal party a little overwhelming. It was fun, but we ended up spending about 4 hours in the studio going through all the pictures and deciding which ones to put in the album that came with our package, which actually became pretty stressful. It was hard to make decisions on the spot and we ended up paying quite a bit more than we had anticipated to add in extra pictures. In retrospect, we should have stuck to the max number that our package included and then made a cheaper album online that still would have cost less than the amount we paid extra. Regardless of that, I would absolutely use these guys again highly recommend them!

ur vision. Gary and Lisa are both so comfortable to be around. My fiancé and I wanted photos that didn’t look like any other wedding photos we had seen and we got that plus so much more! Everyone was raving about the preview of photos Gary put together during our reception and we couldn’t wait to see everything else! Our wedding album is absolutely amazing and unlike anything we’ve ever seen. We can’t say enough great things about the entire Redwood & Rye team!

the bride. When he showed up to the venue - early - we felt like we already knew him. He was everywhere with his assistant John, but never in your face. Lisa was easy to work with and always got back to us right away. I would not hesitate for even a second to book Redwood and Rye for your wedding.

ch! Hiring him was one of the best decisions we made while wedding planning. Jamie is so friendly and easy to get along with and I felt a connection with him as soon as we met. I think it's very important to be comfortable with your photographer and Jamie made that easy. He also worked so hard to get our photos to use very quickly and even made a slideshow for us just a few weeks after our wedding. I would recommend Jamie to anyone looking for a photographer. You will definitely be happy with him and his studio.

ing long distance was definitely tricky, but Gary was available to talk to me by phone and via email whenever I had questions. When we finally met Gary right before our wedding, it confirmed that he was the perfect person to photograph our wedding. He is a calm, positive presence and really knows how to capture all of the important aspects of the day. When we got our pictures back, I was floored. His photographs are works of art!!! Looking through the gallery, I was remembering when he would have us hold certain poses or angle ourselves in certain ways and now I see why. Gary knows how to capture light and reflection— I can’t even begin to comprehend how how must see the world but I am SO lucky and SO glad that he was our wedding photographer. If you are looking for an amazing person to work with and a true artist to capture your day, book with Redwood & Rye!!!

Gary and his wife Lisa are literally angels on earth. The story in how my husband and I met them is a simple twist of fate and the details aren't necessary but truly a blessing to ...
the both of us. We befriended each other and then Gary began to show me some of his work. As I looked through the pictures they literally looked like a fairy tale. We live in NJ and Gary and Lisa live in Boston. After meeting them while on vacation and never really looking into photographers prior to that point I tried to find a photographer in Florida where I would be getting married. From NJ to Florida I found NO ONE that could compare. I quickly gave up looking and we decided that Gary was the best and we wanted to have the best. His packages may seem a little on the high end in terms of price but when I really sit and think about the time and effort that Gary puts into his work and passion, it's really a small price to pay to have someone care so much about your happiness. Actually, an impossible service to find. Gary and Lisa met us in NYC to shoot our engagement photos. Again, something they definitely didn't have to take the time to do but they did. I 110% recommend using Gary for whatever events your future holds. The lighting in the photos, the effects, the emotion, all of these things are captured in the photos and he truly makes photography an art form. Good luck trying to find someone who compares, fat chance!
Jamie is awesome! He was such fun, wonderful to work with and his pictures came out absolutely incredible. I have received SO many compliments on the pictures and people asking me ...
who was my photographer. In addition to capturing incredible photos, Jamie is really dedicated to the details. He tries to get to know his clients so he can customize accordingly. We couldn't have been happier with a choice of photographer.

w us beforehand! He was our favorite vendor out of all the vendors in the wedding! Jamie always had awesome ideas and knew exactly what to do for engagement photos and wedding photos! His work is amazing and high quality! I highly recommend him for your wedding! I had guests coming up to me asking who our photographer was because he posted a few photos at the reception and people were impressed! Thank you so much!!
Jamie was the first and only photographer that we met with, from the first meet and greet we knew there was no way we could have our wedding and not have Jamie involved in it. He...
has such a laid back, down for anything personality and such a drive and passion for what he does which translates in every image that he produces. He strives for perfection and will stop at nothing to blow your mind and have you saying "how did he get that shot"?!! His creativity is endless, at one point during our engagement session he called himself the "Photo Ninja" and it's the truth. The man rolled around in the sand and surf and never once said "No" to any of our crazy ideas. Throughout the planning process Jamie was simply amazing, there are so many working parts and things behind the scenes that it is easy to get stressed over, Jamie really helped to ease all of that stress and he was the one vendor that I had no doubts about. He truly became a friend and Mike and I are happy to be part of the Ivins Photo Family. As the wedding drew closer we met with Jamie for drinks and final details planning, he came up with the brilliant idea that he wanted to get wet at the wedding... he put on his swim trunks and climbed into the marina and we have stunning pictures from a vantage point that has rarely been seen in wedding photos. The end results of our first look session are simple and elegant. Traditional posed wedding photos are not what you will get with Jamie Ivins, instead you get the story of your wedding in beautifully detailed images. Every intimate moment captured in perfect detail. He is a master behind the lens. I gushed to all of our guest that we had the best photographer on the planet and he did not fail to deliver and exceed our expectations. All of our guests raved about how polite and respectful he was. We are in LOVE with all of our wedding pictures and can't wait to relive all of our amazing memories for years to come!!
AMAZING!!!! After looking at some of Jamie’s work, I knew he was the photographer for our big day. We met up with him for a drink and talked more about our plans and vision. He’s...
quick to respond to emails and any specific needs you have. We had a large, rambunctious wedding party and he was great with keeping everyone focused and entertained. After your day, he will make you feel like a celebrity with posting teasers and a slideshow with photo highlights. Only a few weeks after the wedding, we got all of our photos available for download and prints. The way he beautifully and creatively captures your moments will leave you looking at your pictures obsessively! I highly recommend Jamie Ivins!!!!
Jamie Ivins is a bride's dream come true. Jamie is the perfect combination of passionate and professional. He is creative and technically savvy. He genuinely cares for his brides ...
and grooms -- like you've all been long-time friends -- and wants to make sure you get all your hopes and dreams when it comes to your engagement/wedding photos. His creativity and photography skills make for amazing, one-of-a-kind, emotional, beautiful, remember-able photos. Your wedding photos won't be "just like all the other wedding photos!" They'll be better! He's also laid-back and cool. He will make any nervous bride feel comfortable! Jamie isn't five-stars. He's 6 or 7! The best decision I made was hiring Jamie.
