My husband and I hired Daniel Pace to be our wedding photographer because I'd done shoots with him in the past and it was a great experience. He's a friend of mine, but trust me, my husband and I were shopping for quality and we picked Daniel because he does great work and he's awesome to work with. Here's what's good about Pace: -Super professional and super on board. He provided lots of sample photos in varying lighting for us to look at while we were deciding whether to go with him, worked with me to put together a package that would work for our needs, talked through with me what kind of photos were important for us to have, walked around the venue the day before the wedding and really took his time looking at lighting and photo potentials. -Super polite and accommodating. He knew what he was doing and how to get the shots he wanted to get, and he also worked with my input every step of the way. Which leads me to the next part: -Not afraid to get creative! And this is the biggest reason I wanted to hire him, because I knew this about him beforehand. He had so much fun with the wedding party, getting the serious shots that captured the emotions but also just throwing together artistic or fun poses and moments to capture. -Great at capturing emotions. We did the obligatory couples and family and wedding party photo shoots, but there were also dozens of photos Daniel managed to get that really convey the excitement and happiness and fun of the wedding day. -Good at staying out of the way. My guests later commented on how good Daniel was at getting great photos without making his presence obvious during important moments. -Threw in some unexpected bonuses! Like a couple short videos of my husband and me dancing around during the reception. -Good rates and timely delivery of photos. -Just a really nice person (like I said, we're friends), and on one of the most stressful (but great!) days of your life it is good to have a nice person to work with. He is a little quiet so if your family is unruly maybe designate a maid of honor or strong-voiced relative to herd everyone and make sure they're listening to him--but honestly I'd recommend doing that no matter who your photographer is. Family can be impossible at weddings without someone to herd them around :) Thank you, Daniel! Our wedding would not have been the same without you.
