ReKindle was wonderful! We took dance lessons with them to practice for our first dance and would do it again in a heartbeat. They were super flexible on location -- we met at their microstudio, in parks, and at our apartment, and they were very understanding when we had to reschedule a lesson at the last minute due to an injury. They were great at making us feel at ease and building on our skills from lesson to lesson, so we were able to grow our confidence and foundational skills while staying focused on the end result. They emphasized connection, which helped us feel like "us" and not too stiff or sterile. Our song is a bit unusual in that there's a hard tempo switch, and they taught us different styles of dance that would work well with each section. They were fantastic, engaging dance teachers in general, and they had great tips specifically for including sweet photo moments during a first dance. We would highly recommend!

Founded by Melissa Friebe and Matthew Walsh, ReKindle Dance combines over 30 years of professional teaching and studio leadership experience. Melissa & Matthew are a happy couple who bring their love story and 30+ years of teaching experience to ReKindle Dance. For them, dancing isn’t about perfect steps — it’s about laughing, connecting, and making memories.
When they’re not teaching, Melissa is out walking with Gus Gus (their fluffy mascot), audiobook in tow, or scouting new food spots. Matthew is usually found reading comics, watching anime, or gaming — though he’ll happily join Melissa for some lightsaber spinning practice.
They teach the way they live: side by side, with joy, patience, and plenty of humor.
