Pastry Chef Maya’s love for baking began in a small wooden house in rural Vermont. After graduating from the New England Culinary Institute, she honed her craft as a pastry chef in high-end hotels and restaurants throughout New England. In 2022, Chef Maya competed on Amazon Prime’s Dr. Seuss Baking Challenge, where her innovative approach to pastry was on full display. Today, Maya brings her artistry back to her native Vermont through Renaissance Pastry. Her work is a celebration of beauty, flavor, and craftsmanship. The goal is simple: to bring joy to others through unforgettable pastry creations.

Chef Maya created a truly gorgeous cake for us! I wanted chocolate cake with chocolate mousse and raspberries and my husband wanted red velvet with cream cheese frosting. Well, the...
combo of flavors in the different tiers did not disappoint! I couldn't believe how beautiful the cake looked and how moist and delicious it tasted. Everybody kept asking us where we got it. We also got raspberry and pistachio macarons as a gluten free option, although I'm pretty sure the entire wedding party ate them regardless of if they were gluten free or not! Chef Maya at Renaissance Pastry was easy to communicate with over email, but I also scheduled a call to discuss how I wanted the cake to look. It was perfect! Highly recommended!

y detail to match our vision — from the design to the flavors, everything was perfect. The cake was as beautiful as it was delicious, and it truly became one of the highlights of the day. We worked with Chef Maya to create a specific vision for our cake (in our case a three-tiered birch tree with red velvet with a creme cheese filling and a  vanilla buttercream frosting). The cake looked realistic and we loved the extra detail of having our initial etched into the side of the “tree” with a heart around it.  We were so glad we got to enjoy it in the days after our wedding. We can’t recommend Renaissance Pastry and Chef Maya highly enough! — Matt & Pete
