Holds ceremonies and receptions
Renaissance Wine Garden, in Foristell, MO, is a new Wine Garden and wedding venue, creating tons of buzz for how unique it is. We have just completed our "Wedding in the Woods" venue, which is located at the back of our 12-acre property.
Beautiful woods surround the wedding space at Renassiance Wine Garden, enveloping it in natural beauty. The venue is nestled among majestic trees for a truly one-of-a-kind event setting. You and your cherished guests will feel like you are in a secluded area, yet you are right off of 1-70 and just 45 minutes west of St Louis. We offer an on-site bridal cabin where the bride and her bridesmaids can get ready for the big day. A scenic pond and plenty of trees are the backdrop to the amazing ceremony deck where the couple can say "I do". There are tons of great photo opportunities all around the venue and the grounds. Have your ceremony, reception, or both in this picturesque space designed to be unlike any other around. Save money by doing some of the setup yourselves, or have us do it for you! Renaissance Wine Garden welcomes gatherings of all sizes from 20 to 150 invitees.

We held our wedding on June 13th at The Renaissance. The venue is a hidden gem tucked away surrounded by the beauty of nature. Truly magical place to have a wedding. John and Simee...
n are great to work with. They answered all my questions promptly and helped me plan the wedding I’ve always dreamed of. We booked the package and it was a great deal for our size wedding (62 guests). Highly recommended if you are looking for a unique, rustic vibe!

Title: Disappointing Experience and Poor Coordination
Our experience with this venue was deeply disappointing. John and Simeen Cook, the owners, do not seem to communicate with ea...
ch other, and that lack of coordination falls directly onto couples trying to plan their wedding. John made several promises during the tour, only to disappear afterward, and Simeen seemed unaware of everything he had committed to. Instead of working as a team, they left us feeling like their only priority was themselves, not the couple or the event.
For the price, you receive nothing beyond access to the space. There is no help with setup, decorating, or teardown. Every small detail—neon signs, firepit, draping—comes with an additional charge. Access to the venue is extremely limited: ceremony site and suites at 3pm, reception area not until 6pm, and guests cannot enter until 6:30pm. By the time dinner, cake, and toasts are done, you’re left with barely two hours of dancing before everything must end at 10pm, despite the contract stating 11pm. The final hour is reserved for you to clean up because the venue provides no assistance.
We were even told we could access the reception area slightly early, but only if it didn’t “look like setting up,” because customers were present. It was uncomfortable and unwelcoming, even though we were paying to be there.
The bar was another point of confusion—Simeen couldn’t clearly explain how it worked. They also advertise onsite catering for groups under 75, yet discouraged us from using it and pushed us toward outside catering instead.
Overall, this venue forces couples to hire additional help for everything, driving costs far beyond what most budgets allow. The lack of flexibility, support, and professionalism caused unnecessary stress and anxiety for both the bride and her mother. I cannot recommend this venue to anyone planning a wedding.

DO NOT USE THIS VENUE!!! John will tour a couple and make promises of all they get and then he seems to disappear and in comes Simeen. She won’t uphold what he said and they don’t ...
sit down with couples at the same time. It seems like a “Bait and Switch” thing to me.
Simeen is not easy to work with and does not seem to care about the couple at all and what their needs are. It is about her and that she takes your money and has no conscious.
This is an outdoor venue, there is NO option to have it indoors if bad weather comes. They charge you for every little thing they offer on top of the venue fee, which they give nothing to you for what you pay. Many venues out there that do so much more and give you the venue for the whole day.
You cannot set up reception area until 6pm and guests cannot be in reception area until 630 pm. If you are having a 5pm wedding, hopefully you have hired help to decorate it in 30 minutes and then you will wait at wedding site until 630 as she wont allow guests up to reception area sooner. She seems to care more about the customers at the winery who are allowed to be there until 6pm and NOT care at all about the couple who rent this venue from her!! She finally said she would allow reception area to be set up a tad earlier but could not make it look like setting up for a reception due to customers still there. Not sure what we are to make it look like we are setting up for. Guests cannot get in reception area until 630 by time shuttle brings them up the hill it is probably 7pm, do dinner, cake, toasts and it is 8pm. You get two hours of music and dance as it has to shut down at 10pm which goes against the contract which states that you get venue until 11pm, that last hour is so you can clean it for them, again, they do not do ANYTHING!!
Do not make the same mistake we made and use them. Many many other places that will cater to the bride and groom. She needs a lesson in business practice. I honestly feel I need to have a lawyer look into their contract and lack of honoring it fully!!
You want business Simeen, cater to the couple that rent the venue!!
Hope the money you stole from us was worth the negative review you are getting. Karma!!!

We loved this venue. Their experience helped to guide our own, and we used some of their recommended vendors. Keep in mind when booking this venue that you don't have access to the...
reception area until 6:30 pm, but if that works for you, then I recommend them for both the ceremony and the reception.

gine how amazing it is in the spring or summer. John is a gracious host who clearly takes immense pride in his space and business. Our wedding was held in the chilly off-season, but they provided patio heaters for our outdoor ceremony and were super accommodating throughout the entire process to ensure everything went smoothly. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful and special setting to celebrate our marriage. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

We just had our wedding here last weekend, and it was absolutely amazing! Simeen and her husband, on several occasions, went the extra mile for us. I live in CO and got married in ...
MO, so Simeen gave us a venue tour via FaceTime and sent over additional pictures of decor, etc., as we could not see the site in person. When we finally were able to see the site and do a planning walkthrough a few months later, every single question we asked was answered clearly and we left the walkthrough feeling so assured and calm about our choice (it's scary to lock in a venue you've never seen in person!). In the months leading up to the wedding, the owners were super responsive to all my emails and phone calls, and coordinated with several of our other vendors to ensure there were no questions amongst them, either. The day of, the weather could not choose if it would rain, blow everyone away, or cooperate - when we made the call to have several outdoor heaters in case our guests were cold a couple days before, we though we were in the clear. The day of, it was 15F colder than we had anticipated, and John had extra heaters spread throughout the reception area without us having to ask and with no extra notice. They really do look at events through a guests eyes, and what they execute is above and beyond. On top of that, the scenery at the ceremony site is BEAUTIFUL, and the lights at the ceremony/reception site give off fairytale vibes. I cannot stop thinking of how gorgeous it was, and I would recommend this venue in a heartbeat. The staff are just the cherry on top.

een were so great to work with. Especially Simeen, she helped me every step of the way. Great communication and and gave me many options for me to choose from. I even changed my mind a couple times and they were flexible and did whatever they could to make my day special. The private fire pit was a perfect spot. The flat bread pizzas and salad was delicious and the sangria was a big hit with my guests. I appreciate John and Simeen, this was absolutely the perfect venue for our wedding.

Wow. Just wow. I don’t even know where to begin. I love this venue and it was soo beautiful! But sadly my experience here with Simeen was nothing but a disappointment.
I got marrie...
d here on Aug. 26, 2023.
My 3 month, 6 month, and 9 month payments were all wrong. In the beginning, she gave me the 25% down payment amount and so that’s what I should be paying for 6 month and 9 month, right? But in the middle of my 9 month payment she sent me a message saying the payments are wrong and had to pay even more than what she told me in the beginning when I booked the venue. She never gave me invoices. I didn’t know she sent out invoices until she mentioned something about it so I told her to send me invoices for when I paid. John was the one that came out and gave me a tour. She was supposed to but never showed up. So he told me great things about the place and he was nothing but nice to me and showed that he actually cared that I’m getting married and using his space and it was wonderful! He was telling me about the shuttle taking guests to the nearest hotels and dropping them off after the reception and then talking about the bar and what they have available. But when I talked to Simeen, the shuttle doesn’t go anywhere but there and they only have 3 beer choices and 3 wine choices to choose from. So, please don’t tell a guest one thing and then say something else completely different. And by the way, we had more beer choices and wine choices to choose from on our wedding day. When I met Simeen, we met about 3-4 times and she didn’t acknowledge me that I was there. You would think it’s your special day and you paid soo much money for this venue, that for her to not have your full attention and not respect you is just bizarre to me. She also called me Sonya and said my wedding date wrong, so that’s when you know she doesn’t have a clue what’s going on or just doesn’t pay attention. The best for last. It was raining that morning and I was freaking out about everything. I was stressed and Simeen just didn’t want to help at all. Now, in the contract it states that there is a $300 covered canopy fee for the ceremony area, but it never said anything about giving a 48hr notice. So I guess they rent out that big canopy from another vendor and they need that 48hr window to tell them and let them know. Well, I wasn’t informed about this until on the day of my wedding where I’ve been nothing but stressed already. So, they came up with little tents like these. I didn’t hate them, but it was just not what I envisioned. My photographer had to think differently now as to where to do the family photos and the bridal photos. But we eventually figured it out in the end. I’m glad we got a hold of John and he helped set those up. Simeen did nothing to solve this issue. I only saw her once at my wedding and that’s the only time I want to see her again. I don’t recommend anyone going through Simeen. I would definitely go through John since he is the owner and is actually communicative with you, responsive, and respects you.

We encourage anyone looking to book our venue to reach out to us. We would be happy to add...
ress the concerns this review brings up. The initial downpayment taken was incorrectly, so there was some catchup that needed to be done to collect the amount due per the contract. The couple was not charged more than their contracted amount and we are sorry if that caused the couple any trouble. The contract states that the couple is responsible for inclement weather, but we like to have a tent available for rental, but not being in the tent business means we need notice to set it up and in the beginning she was informed of the 48 hr notice. It was not stated in the contract becuase we don't commit to tent service and it would negate the part in the contract stating that the couple is responsible for working around inclement weather. 5 days prior, as a courtesy, as we don't chase couples to take us up an additional services, we contacted the bride asking if she wanted the big tent set up and reminded her we needed 48 hours notice. It is normally $500 for the 20x40 tent and we offered it a $300. That pricing is unheard of. It takes 4 people 2 hours to put it up and we need time to plan for that. 3 days prior she reached out to say they would take their chances and opted out ot the tent service. Unfortunately it dind't go as we hoped and the day of it was raining. John" last minute idea" sent staff to purchase small tents and at no charge to the couple. Outdoor weddings are magical, but come with some risk. Both John and Simeen are committed to providing an amazing wedding experience. It is disheartening to know that in the process of trying to make things outside of our official obligation better for the couple, she was still disappointed. If the bride was not recognized during a visit to the wine garden we hope the bride will not take it personally and we did reach out to her about this, but got no response. During busy wine garden hours we are running around tending to the wine garden and with a sea of faces, we would like to think we can chat wtih and recongnize everyone at any given moment, but we are human and sometime make mistakes. We do see that is would be upsetting to not be recognized.

nough, the one upstairs was working great tho! I wish I could had flip flopped them lol. Again maybe on a day when it wasn't 106 it probably cools down jusy fine. The bus did not come down to get guests which was my issue since we had alot of our elderly aunts and uncle's who cannot walk that hill especially in the heat. Ceremony was perfect, propert is amazing. Overall I'm glad we booked here! We loved it and so did our guests!

I find it unethical to be able to review your own business just to try to make your rating averages better. (See the 3 reviews on the same day) 🙄
If it wasn’t for the scenery and ...
the bartender employee being good at their job I would give it 1 star because I know our photographers made due and we will have good photos which was most important to us. Better off going to a venue that includes at least something in the cost of the venue like table/chair setup, don’t make the same mistakes we made. I’m sure they’ll post a long passive aggressive comment reply to this like the one other real review that isn’t theirs, but if you want further details I’d happily in depth and can be found on Facebook (Samantha Farley).

This place is beautiful. Our pictures are gorgeous. Unfortunately our overall experience was not good. The owners do not consistently share information. We were offered many thin...
gs prior to signing a contract which were not included. Our most frustrating was the fact that the venue does not close until 6pm for outside guests. We were told by the male owner that they were closed on days of weddings. Even though are package time slot was 5-9pm, we did not have access to the patio for decorating until 6pm which was after the ceremony and guest arrival. They are also not staffed adequately. My wedding coordinator had many issues on the day of the wedding including be able to get a towel to wipe off wet tables and chairs from the rain. The female owner tried to tell my husband he could not bring in the champagne for the toast the day of the wedding even though we had discussed it many times with the male owner. Overall just a bad experience which is unfortunate because it really is a beautiful setting.

le. Reviews are meant to help others who want to book get a peek into what they might expect should they book with us, and we support giving a voice to this. However this review doesn’t give the full picture. Kind and prompt consideration was shown to the bride as soon as soon as she voiced her concern about setting up early, as this was her big day and our first priority was finding a solution, but we found it difficult to work to find a solution.
The couple chose to have their reception on our wine garden patio rather than the actual wedding venue space further on the property. The wedding venue at the back of the property is closed to guests, and any couple using the wedding venue will not run into any customers there on their wedding day, but those who want to use the wine garden patio for any part of their wedding must do so after business hours and we were clear about that in the contract. We have customers and a separate business on this patio and we would never close it down for the day. To ensure that everyone is on the same page and to avoid any miscommunication, we have a contract that we encourage couples to take their time going over. The contract states that all set up and breakdown is to be done during your booked time. Couples are in charge of accessing whether they have booked enough time to accommodate what they envision for their day and to book more time or a different space to ensure they can pull together their day smoothly. They had booked 5-9 pm with the ceremony to be held at the back of the property and reception to be brought up to the patio after the ceremony. This did not mean they had both the patio and wedding venue all to themselves for the whole time. The 1st page of the contract stated that the patio was not available to them for their reception until 6pm. Guests were at the ceremony space and if they wanted they did not have to be brought up to the patio until the patio was set up. The impression being given is that guests would have had nowhere to go, which is not true. Adding more time would have been the best solution to ensure there was time to set up the patio while guests mingled back in the ceremony space.
In addition, we are a wine garden/winery with our own private label wine and we along with most wineries don’t allow outside drink to be brought in. The contract also stated no outside drink is allowed. We were under the impression the couple wanted to bring in one bottle of champagne in order to toast each other, which we oked, but they brought in several bottles for all their guests to toast.
Bringing up a contract sounds impersonal, which we are not, but there has to be some way of being sure both sides know what is expected and unfortunately a contract is the best way to do that. Planning for a wedding, especially during this time is challenging, but the couple bears responsibility for what they sign. If they were told they could bring champagne in and that the patio was open for them to set up and use before 6pm then they should not have signed a contact that said otherwise.
All that being said, we allowed the couple to set up early on the patio and we also allowed them to serve all the champagne they brought. I am not sure what else we could have done? In the end giving the couple what they wanted was the best we could do.
As for a towel to wipe the table. I personally wiped the table within 5 minutes, if that, of the request and we were staffed appropriately for the services we were providing that day.
We hope the couple can look past the miscommunication. It would be a shame to let those things cloud one of the most important days of their lives.
