About this vendor
Renaissance Wine Garden, in Foristell, MO, is a new Wine Garden and wedding venue, creating tons of buzz for how unique it is. We have just completed our "Wedding in the Woods" venue, which is located at the back of our 12-acre property.
Beautiful woods surround the wedding space at Renassiance Wine Garden, enveloping it in natural beauty. The venue is nestled among majestic trees for a truly one-of-a-kind event setting. You and your cherished guests will feel like you are in a secluded area, yet you are right off of 1-70 and just 45 minutes west of St Louis. We offer an on-site bridal cabin where the bride and her bridesmaids can get ready for the big day. A scenic pond and plenty of trees are the backdrop to the amazing ceremony deck where the couple can say "I do". There are tons of great photo opportunities all around the venue and the grounds. Have your ceremony, reception, or both in this picturesque space designed to be unlike any other around. Save money by doing some of the setup yourselves, or have us do it for you! Renaissance Wine Garden welcomes gatherings of all sizes from 20 to 150 invitees.
We do things a bit differently here, too. We held our wedding on June 13th at The Renaissance. The venue is a hidden gem tucked away surrounded by the beauty of nature. Truly magical place to have a wedding. John and Simee...
n are great to work with. They answered all my questions promptly and helped me plan the wedding I’ve always dreamed of. We booked the package and it was a great deal for our size wedding (62 guests). Highly recommended if you are looking for a unique, rustic vibe!
We had our wedding at the Renaissance Wine Garden on 5/16. The ceremony location was perfect for the outdoor wedding we wanted. John was lovely to work with and helped bring our vi...
sion to life. We received so many compliments on our venue and had the best time celebrating.
We had our wedding reception here and it was gorgeous and everyone was so friendly and helpful!
I usually never leave reviews, but Renaissance Wine Garden deserves one. Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, and I probably emailed with a hundred little questions. Every time ...
I reached out, I got an answer and felt like they genuinely cared about our day. Wish I could give more stars.
We got married here in the Fall and it honestly looked like something out of a movie. The lights, the trees, the whole place and our pictures turned out incredible. I appreciated t...
he easy going vibe. I have anxiety and the owners and staff never made me feel anxious. There were no surprises or last-minute stress.
I toured so many venues before finding Renaissance Wine Garden and the second I saw the ceremony in the woods, I knew this was it. It is so unique. Our guests are still talking abo...
ut beautiful it was. The staff was super helpful. Thanks for making wedding so special.
ATTENTION BRIDES: DO NOT BOOK HERE! If I could rate 0 stars I would!
I booked here and regretted it immediately, the owners are still refusing to refund us after cancelling our wed...
ding here over 6 months in advance (OVER $4,500 DOWN THE DRAIN) after several conversations with them regarding us not being on the same page about how I wanted my wedding.
John sold us on the place and made it feel like my wedding vision would come true, then Simeen became the one we were working with and she quickly shot down and pushed back on basically anything I wanted for the wedding. I feel like I was baited and switched once I signed the contract. We booked from 3-11pm the day of and let me tell you it’s not actually 3-11pm! You effectively get 6-10. They have you shut down music at 10pm due to the possibility of a noise complaint. Then you can’t even start setting up for the wedding until after the restaurants guests leave, which is at 6pm - way to make the couple spending thousands with you feel special. And if I’m having a 5pm ceremony/wedding - how am I supposed to begin setting up the reception at 6pm if that’s when it’s supposed to start? The way they have everything set up is ridiculous and just bad for business. Unless you hire outside help and LOTS OF IT, there is no way you can get the vision of a beautiful wedding every bride deserves. While I realize this wasn’t an all-inclusive wedding venue, so much more can be done to make the most important day for most couples’ lives feel special. I felt like me and my fiancé were nickel and dime’d through all the extra charges too. NOT WHAT A BRIDE DESERVES ON HER SPECIAL DAY!
I WISH I WOULD’VE GOTTEN OUT SOONER, GLAD TO NOT HAVE MY WEDDING HERE!
I’m hoping John and Simeen will do the right thing and refund at least some of our payment (we paid 3 of 4 installments). Hopefully they’re willing to work with me and be decent business owners - and end the excuses.
EVERYONE BEWARE!
Title: Disappointing Experience and Poor Coordination
Our experience with this venue was deeply disappointing. John and Simeen Cook, the owners, do not seem to communicate with ea...
ch other, and that lack of coordination falls directly onto couples trying to plan their wedding. John made several promises during the tour, only to disappear afterward, and Simeen seemed unaware of everything he had committed to. Instead of working as a team, they left us feeling like their only priority was themselves, not the couple or the event.
For the price, you receive nothing beyond access to the space. There is no help with setup, decorating, or teardown. Every small detail—neon signs, firepit, draping—comes with an additional charge. Access to the venue is extremely limited: ceremony site and suites at 3pm, reception area not until 6pm, and guests cannot enter until 6:30pm. By the time dinner, cake, and toasts are done, you’re left with barely two hours of dancing before everything must end at 10pm, despite the contract stating 11pm. The final hour is reserved for you to clean up because the venue provides no assistance.
We were even told we could access the reception area slightly early, but only if it didn’t “look like setting up,” because customers were present. It was uncomfortable and unwelcoming, even though we were paying to be there.
The bar was another point of confusion—Simeen couldn’t clearly explain how it worked. They also advertise onsite catering for groups under 75, yet discouraged us from using it and pushed us toward outside catering instead.
Overall, this venue forces couples to hire additional help for everything, driving costs far beyond what most budgets allow. The lack of flexibility, support, and professionalism caused unnecessary stress and anxiety for both the bride and her mother. I cannot recommend this venue to anyone planning a wedding.
DO NOT USE THIS VENUE!!! John will tour a couple and make promises of all they get and then he seems to disappear and in comes Simeen. She won’t uphold what he said and they don’t ...
sit down with couples at the same time. It seems like a “Bait and Switch” thing to me.
Simeen is not easy to work with and does not seem to care about the couple at all and what their needs are. It is about her and that she takes your money and has no conscious.
This is an outdoor venue, there is NO option to have it indoors if bad weather comes. They charge you for every little thing they offer on top of the venue fee, which they give nothing to you for what you pay. Many venues out there that do so much more and give you the venue for the whole day.
You cannot set up reception area until 6pm and guests cannot be in reception area until 630 pm. If you are having a 5pm wedding, hopefully you have hired help to decorate it in 30 minutes and then you will wait at wedding site until 630 as she wont allow guests up to reception area sooner. She seems to care more about the customers at the winery who are allowed to be there until 6pm and NOT care at all about the couple who rent this venue from her!! She finally said she would allow reception area to be set up a tad earlier but could not make it look like setting up for a reception due to customers still there. Not sure what we are to make it look like we are setting up for. Guests cannot get in reception area until 630 by time shuttle brings them up the hill it is probably 7pm, do dinner, cake, toasts and it is 8pm. You get two hours of music and dance as it has to shut down at 10pm which goes against the contract which states that you get venue until 11pm, that last hour is so you can clean it for them, again, they do not do ANYTHING!!
Do not make the same mistake we made and use them. Many many other places that will cater to the bride and groom. She needs a lesson in business practice. I honestly feel I need to have a lawyer look into their contract and lack of honoring it fully!!
You want business Simeen, cater to the couple that rent the venue!!
Hope the money you stole from us was worth the negative review you are getting. Karma!!!
We loved this venue. Their experience helped to guide our own, and we used some of their recommended vendors. Keep in mind when booking this venue that you don't have access to the...
reception area until 6:30 pm, but if that works for you, then I recommend them for both the ceremony and the reception.
The Renaissance Wine Garden was an absolutely gorgeous venue for our wedding and provided great value for our NYE wedding. As beautiful as it was in the dead of winter, I can’t ima...
gine how amazing it is in the spring or summer. John is a gracious host who clearly takes immense pride in his space and business. Our wedding was held in the chilly off-season, but they provided patio heaters for our outdoor ceremony and were super accommodating throughout the entire process to ensure everything went smoothly. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful and special setting to celebrate our marriage. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

our day was perfect. The price was very fair for the amazing service we received. We couldn’t have asked for more!

ghly recommend!
We just had our wedding here last weekend, and it was absolutely amazing! Simeen and her husband, on several occasions, went the extra mile for us. I live in CO and got married in ...
MO, so Simeen gave us a venue tour via FaceTime and sent over additional pictures of decor, etc., as we could not see the site in person. When we finally were able to see the site and do a planning walkthrough a few months later, every single question we asked was answered clearly and we left the walkthrough feeling so assured and calm about our choice (it's scary to lock in a venue you've never seen in person!). In the months leading up to the wedding, the owners were super responsive to all my emails and phone calls, and coordinated with several of our other vendors to ensure there were no questions amongst them, either. The day of, the weather could not choose if it would rain, blow everyone away, or cooperate - when we made the call to have several outdoor heaters in case our guests were cold a couple days before, we though we were in the clear. The day of, it was 15F colder than we had anticipated, and John had extra heaters spread throughout the reception area without us having to ask and with no extra notice. They really do look at events through a guests eyes, and what they execute is above and beyond. On top of that, the scenery at the ceremony site is BEAUTIFUL, and the lights at the ceremony/reception site give off fairytale vibes. I cannot stop thinking of how gorgeous it was, and I would recommend this venue in a heartbeat. The staff are just the cherry on top.
We had a surprise wedding for our 40 guests, it went perfectly! The location is beautiful. Fall outdoor wedding, nice private fire pit area for our guests. The owners, John and Sim...
een were so great to work with. Especially Simeen, she helped me every step of the way. Great communication and and gave me many options for me to choose from. I even changed my mind a couple times and they were flexible and did whatever they could to make my day special. The private fire pit was a perfect spot. The flat bread pizzas and salad was delicious and the sangria was a big hit with my guests. I appreciate John and Simeen, this was absolutely the perfect venue for our wedding.
Wow. Just wow. I don’t even know where to begin. I love this venue and it was soo beautiful! But sadly my experience here with Simeen was nothing but a disappointment.
I got marrie...
d here on Aug. 26, 2023.
My 3 month, 6 month, and 9 month payments were all wrong. In the beginning, she gave me the 25% down payment amount and so that’s what I should be paying for 6 month and 9 month, right? But in the middle of my 9 month payment she sent me a message saying the payments are wrong and had to pay even more than what she told me in the beginning when I booked the venue. She never gave me invoices. I didn’t know she sent out invoices until she mentioned something about it so I told her to send me invoices for when I paid. John was the one that came out and gave me a tour. She was supposed to but never showed up. So he told me great things about the place and he was nothing but nice to me and showed that he actually cared that I’m getting married and using his space and it was wonderful! He was telling me about the shuttle taking guests to the nearest hotels and dropping them off after the reception and then talking about the bar and what they have available. But when I talked to Simeen, the shuttle doesn’t go anywhere but there and they only have 3 beer choices and 3 wine choices to choose from. So, please don’t tell a guest one thing and then say something else completely different. And by the way, we had more beer choices and wine choices to choose from on our wedding day. When I met Simeen, we met about 3-4 times and she didn’t acknowledge me that I was there. You would think it’s your special day and you paid soo much money for this venue, that for her to not have your full attention and not respect you is just bizarre to me. She also called me Sonya and said my wedding date wrong, so that’s when you know she doesn’t have a clue what’s going on or just doesn’t pay attention. The best for last. It was raining that morning and I was freaking out about everything. I was stressed and Simeen just didn’t want to help at all. Now, in the contract it states that there is a $300 covered canopy fee for the ceremony area, but it never said anything about giving a 48hr notice. So I guess they rent out that big canopy from another vendor and they need that 48hr window to tell them and let them know. Well, I wasn’t informed about this until on the day of my wedding where I’ve been nothing but stressed already. So, they came up with little tents like these. I didn’t hate them, but it was just not what I envisioned. My photographer had to think differently now as to where to do the family photos and the bridal photos. But we eventually figured it out in the end. I’m glad we got a hold of John and he helped set those up. Simeen did nothing to solve this issue. I only saw her once at my wedding and that’s the only time I want to see her again. I don’t recommend anyone going through Simeen. I would definitely go through John since he is the owner and is actually communicative with you, responsive, and respects you.
absolutely beautiful! the scenery and outdoor setting was perfect for our country chic wedding. Our wedding day was HOT like 106° the ac window unit in the main floor wasn't cool e...
nough, the one upstairs was working great tho! I wish I could had flip flopped them lol. Again maybe on a day when it wasn't 106 it probably cools down jusy fine. The bus did not come down to get guests which was my issue since we had alot of our elderly aunts and uncle's who cannot walk that hill especially in the heat. Ceremony was perfect, propert is amazing. Overall I'm glad we booked here! We loved it and so did our guests!
We are so pleased. They went above and beyond. Everything was just perfect. And when someone in our party accidentally dropped our personal GF wedding cake, I was is tears. But the...
venue went above and beyone and ran out and bought us a local GF cake so I had something to cut and eat. I am forever grateful at this kind gesture.
I find it unethical to be able to review your own business just to try to make your rating averages better. (See the 3 reviews on the same day) 🙄
If it wasn’t for the scenery and ...
the bartender employee being good at their job I would give it 1 star because I know our photographers made due and we will have good photos which was most important to us. Better off going to a venue that includes at least something in the cost of the venue like table/chair setup, don’t make the same mistakes we made. I’m sure they’ll post a long passive aggressive comment reply to this like the one other real review that isn’t theirs, but if you want further details I’d happily in depth and can be found on Facebook (Samantha Farley).

dge to take photos on, you’ll have plenty of option for the perfect shot! The staff was really outgoing and added some fun to the reception :) The owners are a lovely married couple who welcomed us with open arms! Don’t even get me started on their yummy wines 😋 I will be back here with my girlfriends once the honeymoon is over.

edding in the woods and I couldn’t picture having my wedding anywhere else! The staff made everything so easy for us with setting up our chairs for the ceremony and offering a cabin for my girls and I to get ready in. Not to mention there’s a huge selection of reasonably priced beer, wine, and mixed drinks. Thank you Renaissance for everything!
This place is beautiful. Our pictures are gorgeous. Unfortunately our overall experience was not good. The owners do not consistently share information. We were offered many thin...
gs prior to signing a contract which were not included. Our most frustrating was the fact that the venue does not close until 6pm for outside guests. We were told by the male owner that they were closed on days of weddings. Even though are package time slot was 5-9pm, we did not have access to the patio for decorating until 6pm which was after the ceremony and guest arrival. They are also not staffed adequately. My wedding coordinator had many issues on the day of the wedding including be able to get a towel to wipe off wet tables and chairs from the rain. The female owner tried to tell my husband he could not bring in the champagne for the toast the day of the wedding even though we had discussed it many times with the male owner. Overall just a bad experience which is unfortunate because it really is a beautiful setting.
