About this vendor
High Tide Society delivers a wedding experience your guests won’t stop talking about.
Instead of the usual decade-spanning wedding band, we bring a stylish blend of smooth yacht rock and iconic ’70s dance hits, music that feels fresh, chic, and undeniably cool. With artists like Steely Dan, Hall & Oates, Chic, Fleetwood Mac, Donna Summer, and Michael Jackson in the mix, your reception gets a soundtrack that’s nostalgic in the best way, yet totally unexpected.
We specialize in creating a vibe that reflects you — a couple who wants something different, something elevated, something that stands out. From cocktail hour to the final encore, High Tide Society sets a tone that’s elegant, fun, and full of personality. It’s the kind of band that becomes part of the story of your wedding day, long after the last song fades.

I am the Father of a Bride and we hired this band for our wedding. They were fantastic and we would hire them again without hesitation. The buzz amongst the 165 guests was "where...
did you find these guys?" and "they're AWESOME!!"
The dance floor filled with their first song and everyone sang and danced till the end. A month later, the band (Retro Hits) is still talked about and has become a great memory for all.
High Tide Society performing at our wedding was an absolute dream come true! My husband and I love yacht rock, so when we saw them perform at another venue, we immediately fell in ...
love with them and their infectious energy on stage. They play the best songs, and made our night so memorable. Our guests still can't stop talking about how much they loved the band!
Throughout the whole planning process, John Perkins was beyond communicative and accommodating from start to finish. He was willing to come look at the venue with us, talk us through many song options, and worked so hard to help us make our dream a reality. He made the whole process a breeze and on top of that, was such a delight to work with!
On the day of the wedding, they did a phenomenal job MCing and played the whole night with so much energy. I never have seen so many people on the dance floor at a wedding and that's thanks to all of the talented band members. I can't recommend HTS enough!
Retro Hits Tribute was amazing to work with!!! John was such a great guy, took our calls, worked with us to figure out personalized songs for our ceremony and more. If you are ever...
considering a live band for your wedding, BOOK THEM NOW! Oh and did I mention that their performance absolutely killed it and my guests are STILL talking about it?! Yes. It’s true.
Wow. Where do I start? This band had my family and friends tearing up the dance floor all night!! The sax was so on point! I had multiple people come up and tell me how amazing the...
band was. Days after people are still talking about how good they are!
My contact, John, has been an absolute pleasure to work with. He was quick to reply as I coordinated our plans for my wedding. He’s flexible and communicative and all around genuinely just an awesome human being. Did I mention kickass drummer?
Have I also mentioned how FANTASTIC the band is?!
If you want to have a kickass party or wedding with some awesome 80d classics hire the high tide society.
If your goal is to make your guests dance, well, then….hire THE HIGH TIDE SOCIETY!!
We've had Retro Hits Tributes play for us on 2 separate private party/ occasions, and will use them for a 3rd! They have a lot of songs they can play, and we're willing to try some...
new ones (at my request!) Our son sang 4 songs with the band, which made it even more memorable. Everyone in attendance was up and dancing, and thoroughly loved their set list. Will for sure recommend them, and use them again!
We want to thank HTS for the best evening on our special day. John and the entire band went above and beyond with details, attention to our guests, sound, MC-ing, and the BEST pla...
ylist that they let us weigh in on weeks in advance. True top level professionals!!
The only part of our wedding discussed to this day by our guests, (outside our vows) was how incredible the band was. We're already planning an anniversary party and plan on having the band back to celebrate with us.
We hired this yacht-rock themed band for our wedding reception and it was an amazing experience. Band lead was great to work with, and they 100% provided a twice-as-good product as...
we were even hoping for. I'd hire them again immediately.
High Tide Society was the hit of my annual client appreciation party! So much so that the bar where I held the event went on to hire them to play monthly! They are so good and the ...
playlist is amazing--everyone was up and dancing and it was just perfect. These are the kinds of songs that everyone can groove to, all ages and backgrounds, which was perfect for my clients. I love the horn section, vocal harmonies, and everything about this band. Highly, highly recommended!!!
This was actually for my retirement celebration after 22 years serving in the Navy. The band, not only played 2 sets of fantastic yacht rock classics live, they came early, set up ...
a sound system, and played music before/after/during breaks. Communication with them was great. I had a lot of changes to the event and they were always accommodating and had swift responses to all my communications.
The performance itself was beyond fantastic. The musicianship and authenticity of the music was beyond compare. The term "yacht rock" is thrown around a lot but really what it was is spot on covers of great music from my youth done without any irony. I have seen them perform several times since then and am always impressed by the catalog of songs and faithful performance of those songs. I highly recommend them for a wedding or any event you're planning.
I can't say enough good things about this band! They played my event that had a wide array of ages and they appealed to literally everyone. On top of that, my husband and a lot of ...
our guests are musicians...so the bar was very high for them - and yet they surpassed it! They are both very technically talented as well as having a great connection with the room. We all danced and sang the night away. It was a lavish event - and, hands down, the best money I spent was on this band. I was also impressed with their ability to work with the uniqueness of our space. John was excellent to work with - he made the process so easy for me, was a great communicator, and was always responsive. Every member of the band and crew was top notch professional. I can't wait to find another reason to book them!
My wife and I booked HIgh Tide Society for a joint 50th birthday celebration. They were great not just on stage but prior to the party in reviewing song lists and logistics. A pl...
easure to work with , nice and very accommodating. The music was all great and the caliber of musicians in this band is top notch and they sound great! It was a memorable evening and our guests are still talking about it. I wouldn’t hesitate in hiring them again.

Hire this band for your wedding! High Tide Society was the perfect fit for our Outdoor wedding at Bali Hai. We wanted a band that perfectly complimented our theme and boy did they ...
deliver. In fact, they drove the theme home and kept everyone smiling and on the dance floor all night long. Not only is John Perkins the nicest guy in the world but he is extremely professional and leads an amazing band of top tier talent. This band faithfully reproduces the hits that you know and love while maintaining an awesome party vibe! I should also mention that the MC work was phenomenal. We were so totally pleased and our guest were over the moon. Hire these guys for a great night of fun and memories. You will not be disappointed!!
