Retro Hits Tributes is a wedding music business based out of San Diego, CA. This unique musical company comprises a range of cover bands for wedding occasions. These talented musicians and vocalists join together to deliver unforgettable, foot-stomping shows at every stage of a couple’s day. From 80s-only showstoppers to quality country collectives, there is a tribute band to suit all tastes. They deliver professional performances that focus solely on the music. This unique company of musicians is orchestrated by music aficionado and skilled drummer, John Perkins. With a degree in Music Business Management from Berklee, John went on to work for talent agencies in LA. He started Retro Hits Tributes to provide newlyweds with an alternative to the standard covers band. Each ensemble is composed of genuine artists who showcase expertise and authenticity. They focus on perfecting each genre, from funk and pop to country and rock. Groups include 80s and Brit Pop pros The In Crowd, Dim the Lights who bring that 70’s funk, and modern country mixers, Young Americans. Elevator Gold is designed specifically for cocktail hours, their smooth instrumentals easing guests into the party atmosphere. High Tide Society specializes in self-designed genre “yacht rock”, a perfect blend of tunes for outdoor events and sophisticated soirees. Retro Hits Tributes is available for your entire wedding journey, from the ceremony to the cocktail hour to the after party. Musical members offer MC duties if required, lending their seasoned skills to proceedings. These artists are ready to travel far and wide for your celebrations and are available for destination weddings. Prospective newlyweds can collaborate with John and his diverse team to create the celebratory soundtrack for their precious day.

ey are! My contact, John, has been an absolute pleasure to work with. He was quick to reply as I coordinated our plans for my wedding. He’s flexible and communicative and all around genuinely just an awesome human being. Did I mention kickass drummer? Have I also mentioned how FANTASTIC the band is?! If you want to have a kickass party or wedding with some awesome 80d classics hire the high tide society. If your goal is to make your guests dance, well, then….hire THE HIGH TIDE SOCIETY!!

vel professionals!! The only part of our wedding discussed to this day by our guests, (outside our vows) was how incredible the band was. We're already planning an anniversary party and plan on having the band back to celebrate with us.

We hired this yacht-rock themed band for our wedding reception and it was an amazing experience. Band lead was great to work with, and they 100% provided a twice-as-good product as we were even hoping for. I'd hire them again immediately.

munication with them was great. I had a lot of changes to the event and they were always accommodating and had swift responses to all my communications. The performance itself was beyond fantastic. The musicianship and authenticity of the music was beyond compare. The term "yacht rock" is thrown around a lot but really what it was is spot on covers of great music from my youth done without any irony. I have seen them perform several times since then and am always impressed by the catalog of songs and faithful performance of those songs. I highly recommend them for a wedding or any event you're planning.

nd yet they surpassed it! They are both very technically talented as well as having a great connection with the room. We all danced and sang the night away. It was a lavish event - and, hands down, the best money I spent was on this band. I was also impressed with their ability to work with the uniqueness of our space. John was excellent to work with - he made the process so easy for me, was a great communicator, and was always responsive. Every member of the band and crew was top notch professional. This band faithfully reproduces the hits that you know and love while maintaining an awesome party vibe! I should also mention that the MC work was phenomenal.
