Rev. King was amazing!!! She conducted a beautiful ceremony and put in a lot of extra time and effort to create something that was very special and unique to our story as a couple. She went beyond the duties of a wedding officiant - we couldn't have pulled off our wedding without her. With everything disrupted due to Covid, we had to do things on very short notice and had issues getting our marriage license - she went out of her way to help us get everything done and made sure our wedding went off without a hitch! Highly recommended.
Emily has been doing special events in my family for the past 12 years! She married both my nieces and blessed both their babies. What makes Emily so special is that she personalizes each ceremony to the couple. So many guests said they never had so much fun at a wedding ceremony. If you are looking for more than just a quick ‘I Do’ check out Emily. She is super easy to work with.
Emily is a wonderful celebrant. We feel so happy she was a part of our special day. Emily was both friendly and knowledgeable. She was very professional and did everything she could to make our ceremony special. She corresponded with us before the occasion and made sure the ceremony included everything we wanted. We would highly recommend Emily. She is a lovely person and a brilliant celebrant, who goes that extra mile to make your day perfect.
Emily did a great job with our ceremony, she made it extra special for us. She gets our sarcasm and present it the exact way we had imagined. Always touch bases with us through out the preparation and showed up earlier for rehersal on the day of the wedding. Not to mention that she sent us a fully desinged program of our ceremony, that was such a great gift. We are super happy with how the ceremony turned out, thanks again Emily!
After Emily officiated my sister's wedding, we knew we had to have her back to preside over our ceremony. Emily worked with us to create a beautiful, spiritual ceremony that involved many different cultural traditions as well as our close family members and friends. Our wedding attendees mentioned that the ceremony was one of the best they had ever been to! Emily is a wonderful collaborator and worked with us to ensure the ceremony was uniquely "us." I highly recommend Emily to officiate your wedding or other special event. We consider Emily to be part of our extended family - we even invited her back to officiate the blessing for our daughter.
Emily officiated our ceremony in fall 2007 in Tarrytown, NY and we were thoroughly pleased with it! Many of Catholic or Protestant guests and family members were initially dubious about a non-denominational ceremony, but afterwards they told us they really enjoyed it and that it was the best wedding ceremony they ever attended! My family enjoyed it so much that my sister and brother-in-law asked her to officiate both their wedding and their daughter's blessing! Emily really took the time to get to know our personal love story with a thorough questionnaire and interview. She involved our family members in the well-thought out ceremony, including a knot/blessing ceremony with our mother's and the flexibility to have my husband's aunt read her own blessing. Emily did a great job putting together multiple drafts of our ceremony and really customizing it to us and our wants and needs. The actual ceremony including several beautiful readings, interaction with the guests to bless our marriage, a summary of our love story, and the inclusion of the vows we wrote ourselves. Go with Emily - you won't be sorry you did- she did a fantastic job!
Rev. Emily King, Ordained Civil Servant, married my husband and I over seven years ago. My dear sister referred Emily to us. Since our marriage is a second marriage and we are also an interfaith couple with adult children, we were so appreciative to discover Emily. Rev. King had us prepare by answering questions individually and as a couple. She also travelled halfway across the country to perform the ceremony. The ceremony was intimate, joyful as well as respectful of our different faith backgrounds.
Emily King created an extraordinary ceremony for us— funny at times, beautiful, emotional, and deeply true to who my wife and I are as people, and to what we believed marriage meant to us. Even more than the ceremony itself, we were grateful for her luminous presence, which centered and grounded the whole day for us, our friends, and our family. At the reception, everyone kept asking, "Who WAS that lady? She was amazing!"
Emily first served as our celebrant at our commitment ceremony in 2006 with 125 of our closest family and friends present. We had several conversations and meetings with her prior to the big day and it was clear that she had a passion and appreciation for the significant role she plays. She had spent a great deal of time on our vows and was open to any requests and changes (of which there were few as it was so beautifully written). On the day of our ceremony, my partner and my nerves subsided as soon as she arrived. Emily's calm demeanor and warm persona is infectious and she has an incredible way of refocusing your attention to embrace what's important. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful in large part to Emily and the words she spoke. They focused on love and support and really touched each and every friend and family member present. In fact, for several years we received comments about how memorable and beautiful the ceremony was, specifically calling Emily out.
We loved our experience with Emily so much so that when Marriage Equality became legal in New York, we knew we had to have her back. In 2014, we held asked 8 people to join us at home to make our commitment official and Emily graciously married us in the eyes of the law - a promise she offered us in 2006 if NY ever made it legal and one she graciously kept. The day was truly special for many reasons, but the ability for my husband and I to recreate the love and magic with Emily's help will be one of my fondest memories ever!
We consider Emily a part of our family and would wholeheartedly recommend her for any special occasion celebrating love and family.
