He took the time to meet with my husband and I and instantly put us at ease with his calming energy and great sense of humor. Fast forward to around 6 weeks prior to the big day Gary aided us as we started to finalize our ceremony. He provided suggestions and input which helped us in choosing the perfect ceremony for us. On the big day (6/22/19) Gary showed up prompt with a big smile which automatically put our nerves at ease. The ceremony itself was absolutely beautiful and the words were spoken so eloquently about marriage and our new life ahead of us as husband and wife. ed. Me and my husband come from different religious backgrounds (catholic/Jewish) and i was so nervous about what we could speak about and what we couldnt, but Rev. He took detailed notes and really took time to get to know us - I knew right away that we would be booking him. We worked with him to add in pieces that fit our relationship perfectly, including a ring warming ceremony where everyone in the audience passed along our ring box to give a personal wish. This happened during the ceremony, which I thought was a nice way to keep guests "occupied" during the vows! I actually learned so much about the process of "getting married" from him - he guided us through all the steps of obtaining a marriage license and other important tips. Everything that he said was moving and beautiful, and he even added a few well-placed laughs. He was one of the main reasons that the mood of our wedding started off beautifully and positively. Our choice was a "semi-religious ceremony" because we felt that it was more personal and close to the heart than the traditional catholic ceremony. Rev. Gary helped us pick readings that were close to our philosophy on life and marriage. Ironically, one of the readings consisted of 7 sections — the number of our bridesmaids/groomsmen, so each bridesmaid read a line. A few of the groomsman read "love is kind". At the end, this was a ceremony that almost everyone in the wedding party helped bring to life.

This was clearly devastating and even the thought of having someone else stand in his shoes to conduct our wedding ceremony was nearly beyond comprehension. Who could replace my father, which I would be a fool to even attempt to describe his importance to myself as well as everyone he’d encounter. Eventually, we had to face the task of finding an officiant and it couldn’t just be anybody. Early on in our search we came upon Rev. Gary’s profile. From what we read it seemed that his approach to spirituality was congruent with ours and that of my dad’s. We wanted a structured, but customizable ceremony in which we could incorporate personable and sentimental aspects of our lives, as well as honor my dad. When we finally met Rev. Gary we instantly had an overwhelming sense of comfort and knew that if there was anyone that could stand in my dad’s place it was him. It was as if my dad hand picked him from heaven. It was enjoyable working with Rev. Gary in laying everything out for our ceremony. Understanding the sensitivity of the circumstances, he helped us incorporate the teachings of my father into the ceremony. In the end it was our ceremony, lead with the grace and personal touch of Rev. Gary, and in the light of my father’s love. From the beginning we wanted to make our ceremony special, but we didn’t anticipate the overwhelming feed back we received from all of our guests on how moving and touching our ceremony was and how impressed they were with Rev. Gary. My mom, who was naturally apprehensive about the whole thing, was as happy as she could be, telling me how proud she was and that my dad would have been of how we conducted the ceremony. We will always look back with affection on how wonderful Rev. Gary made our wedding day. With that, we cannot thank Rev. Gary enough and are happy to have him in our lives!

Gary at my ceremony was dealing with good humor when my brother-in-law, who was supposed to do a reading, backed out during the ceremony. Of course that should not be the main reason for you to choose the right reverend, but it is great to know he will be able to deal with situations that could be very awkward. He made the whole process very easy for us & was there the whole way along to assist us with anything we needed as we were not up to speed on exactly how a ceremony should be preformed and what was needed on our part.
