We found Reverend Gary as a recommendation from my sister who used him for her wedding as well; we both had a good experience with him. He was sensitive to the variety of religious traditions and varying religious intensity amongst clients. We appreciated that he guided us to create a ceremony that reflected us as a couple but was also done in a way that made us comfortable. He had great suggestions, and really tried to get to know us as people. Highly recommend!

Gary prepared for our ceremony so carefully. He started the preparation early, had a few calls with us to learn our stories. and iterated the wording multiple times. He also embedded our personal stories very well into the ceremony to make it very special. In addition, he provided other guidance / advice on how to organize the ceremony and other logistics aspect. My husband and I were very hesitant about hiring someone to help us with our ceremony. We originally planned on having a friend or family member perform the ceremony. However, after uncalculable conversations, we soon realized the investment in a professional was the only route to fully encapsulate the proper tone of our ceremony. THE most important part of your special day is the ceremony, hands down, as the ceremony sets the tone for all the festivities to follow, as well as your next chapter. After much research, my Mom found Reverend Gary through Google searches and thank goodness! You cannot put a price tag on meeting someone like Reverend Gary, he is THE BEST! A major "must have" for us was we wanted to personalize our ceremony. Time and time again we attend weddings where we feel the verbiage is predictable and the readings are outdated. We shared our hopes and dreams with Reverend Gary and he was in complete support of our ideas and truly brought them to life. Several times throughout the process we revised drafts and spoke on the phone, which created a sense of indescribable comfort leading up to our special day. From the very first meeting, which we left on cloud nine, and we knew this was the perfect fit! The ceremony was everything we had hoped for and more! Every one of our wishes became a reality and we both walked down the aisle in complete amazement that we got to have our dream ceremony. Immediately following the ceremony, Reverend Gary was the talk of the town and our guests were shocked to hear that we had not known him for years. Rev. Gary met with us a couple times & was always fast to reply to emails & messages on the knot. He was very professional and helpful with ceremony details. He gave us several different options for ceremony scripts and let us change any part around to mix and match to our liking. It was a perfect day & Rev. Gary was a vital part in it!!

My husband and I booked Gary as our officiant after reading all the positive reviews from The Knot! When we initially had our Skype call, Gary was so sweet and explained the entire process. He was very professional. Gary goes out of his way to make sure your ceremony is EXACTLY what you want, and his response times were super quick. One week before the wedding, Gary scheduled a call with us to go over any additional logistics and name pronunciation (which we didn't even think of!) The day of the wedding, Gary was terrific. He showed his sense of humor, compassion, and captured our personalities throughout the ceremony. After the ceremony, he congratulated us and told us to expect our marriage certificate in less than 1 week. I 100% recommend Gary!!

My wife and I had an outdoor ceremony in New Rochelle a couple of weeks ago and were blessed to have Rev. Gary Deinstadt as our officiant! When we got engaged over a year ago, we had no idea where to start on our search for an officiant. We reached out to separate couples who's weddings we had attended recently that each had an outdoor ceremony because we really enjoyed their officiants. Turns out they used the same person; Rev. If I could give 10 stars I would. Working with Gary was an absolute joy from start to finish. It was extremely important to my husband and I that the ceremony be personal to who we are as a couple. We go to A LOT of weddings and we didn't want it to feel like any couple could've been standing up there like a plug and play bride & groom. To say Gary captured us as a couple would be a gigantic understatement. We cannot even count the amount of people who asked us "how long have you known your officiant for???? Are you related???? He was amazing!" after the ceremony. Despite having only talked to Gary a few times on zoom prior to our wedding day, it truly felt like Gary had known us for years. Knowing how important it was to us for the ceremony to be unique to us, he asked us to submit a personal story that was meaningful to our relationship and the way he delivered it would've made you think he was sitting right there when it happened 4 years ago. Gary has an extremely calming demeanor and a great sense of humor--- two invaluable qualities that set our minds at ease leading up to our wedding day and set the tone for a truly incredible ceremony. Just 10 minutes before coming to write this review I got yet another text message from a guest telling me how memorable the ceremony was and asking if she could "steal some of the beautiful components" for her own wedding back in Texas later this year. I had to tell her that the large majority of it came from Gary's own suggestions--- everything from the flow, to the blessings, to the unique love letter & ring box ceremony was suggested and customized by Gary to deliver the ceremony of our dreams. Early in our process we had a vision of what we wanted for our ceremony but wasn’t sure if possible and how exactly it would work. Our initial conversation with Gary began with him listening and then walking us thru how he can customize the ceremony to meet our needs. The connection he was able to make during that initial conversation and the time he spent learning about us and understand what we wanted added comfort that we had the right person. On the big day, Gary arrived and was immediately welcoming to everyone and put everyone in a good mood. The ceremony was amazing and even better then we envisioned. So many guests asked us where we found Gary, we strongly recommend!

We are so happy that we hired Rev. Gary to be our officiant. My (now) husband and I were very picky when it came to who was going to marry us. We wanted someone that felt genuine and that is the perfect word to describe Gary. During our initial call, we really appreciated that he asked us a lot of questions and took the time to really get to know us. We booked him about a year and 9 months before our wedding date and throughout that time, he checked in on us multiple times to see how we were doing and if we had any questions he could answer. The day of the wedding, he officiated our ceremony perfectly. My husband and I are both introverts and were very nervous and he made us feel comfortable. After the ceremony, nearly all of our guests commented on how much they loved him and how beautiful the ceremony was. In fact, my grandma now quotes things he said during our ceremony because she just loved how he phrased things. If you are looking for an officiant, hire Rev. Gary. Gary was the best! My husband and I got married in September - we met with him a few months before the big day and exchanged a bunch of emails back and forth. I loved that he came prepped with many options for how he could take the day based on our preferences and then peppered in the right amount of personal touches. Gary had the pleasure of officiating two weddings for us! Our small ceremony with just family in 2020 and our celebration in 2021. Gary was so kind from the beginning. Gary made the ceremony totally customizable and we didn't need to even rehearse because he coordinated everything the day of with our wedding party. There weren't any awkward pauses or someone forgetting to do something, we literally sailed through the ceremony and had zero stress about remembering anything we had to do. I hired Rev. Gary with a month prior to my wedding and i was very happy once we spoke on the phone to get to know each other, from that time my husband and i felt the connection and we happily hired Gary. Gary is absolutely WONDERFUL! We used Gary for our 6/20/2020 wedding which because of the pandemic became a backyard wedding. Gary was SO adjustable to all of the changes that we made the ceremony. We were married Thursday, June 25, 2020. After cancelling 3 weddings because of COVID-19 we decided at the last minute to get married at my mother-in-law’s house – just us, my mother-in-law and my sisters-in-law. But now we had to find an officiant. Reverend Gary Deinstadt was ready and willing. Never mind that we are Jewish! It didn’t matter. “Reverend Gary” was as able as he was willing. It was a beautiful ceremony and one that we will not forget. Reverend Gary taught us that we are united in far more than what we think separates us. You would have thought we were members of his congregation – that is how quickly he was able to get to know us and create a ceremony that worked for us. I even got to break the glass!

Gary was tremendous. He took time to get to know us and tailored a ceremony just for us. He was also quite flexible in making our ceremony happen in the midst of the pandemic (of course with proper social distancing). We highly recommend him!!

My husband and I were married 1 month ago today. We had a quick engagement and took no time to pick a reception venue in which we would also have our ceremony. After booking the Crabtree’s Kittle House our next big decision was to chose an officiant. We came across Rev. Gary Deinstadt on The Knot in which he came highly recommended. From the moment I contacted Gary through email the exchanges and promptness were exceptional. He took the time to meet with my husband and I and instantly put us at ease with his calming energy and great sense of humor. He very thoroughly went through the types of ceremony’s he’s done while at the same time listening to our needs and getting to know us. The next day we emailed him to book him on our wedding day! Fast forward to around 6 weeks prior to the big day Gary aided us as we started to finalize our ceremony. He provided suggestions and input which helped us in choosing the perfect ceremony for us. On the big day (6/22/19) Gary showed up prompt with a big smile which automatically put our nerves at ease. The ceremony itself was absolutely beautiful and the words were spoken so eloquently about marriage and our new life ahead of us as husband and wife. It was important to my (now) husband and I to find an officiant who would provide us with a ceremony that was somewhat religious, personal to us, and spoke to the core fundamentals of marriage. My husband and I were married on May 10, 2019 by Rev. Gary, and we could not have imagined our ceremony any differently. Since we were planning our wedding from MA, we were very nervous when we began searching for an officiant (Perhaps me more than my husband). We had the pleasure of having Reverend Gary officiate our recent May nuptials. I feel extremely lucky to have found him and cannot praise him enough. He is beyond kind, genuine and well spoken. Where do i begin? Rev. Gary Deinstadt was amazing in every aspect of the word. He performed an amazing ceremony for us on May 4th 2019. Everything he said was spoken truly from the heart and he personalized everything to be exactly what we wanted. Me and my husband come from different religious backgrounds (catholic/Jewish) and i was so nervous about what we could speak about and what we couldnt, but Rev. Gary really helped ease my mind and everything he said was tasteful and beautiful. Through the whole crazy planning process Rev. Gary was so calm and reassuring that he made it so easy for us. Standing up there that day was scary and we were so nervous knowing so many eyes were on us, but Rev. Choosing an officiant was one of the most difficult tasks my husband and I had when planning our wedding. We were hesitant to work with someone we did not know but after our first conversation with Gary, we knew we were in good hands. Gary took the time to explain his process and allow us to get to know him (and him to get to know us) to make sure we were a good fit. He was so helpful during the process and made sure we had a ceremony we loved while adding in some surprises. Gary did a wonderful job the day of our ceremony. He helped keep things calm and organized and delivered a beautiful ceremony. So many guests asked us how we knew Gary because the ceremony fit us so well. Gary took care of our marriage license quickly and was wonderful to work with. I would highly recommend Gary!

Rev. Gary made our wedding special. We wanted an intimate wedding that wasn’t cookie-cutter, and he offered suggestions and helped us make a service that felt like “us.” He has a wonderful sense of humor, and is such a warm and caring person which really comes through in his words and actions. My husband and I were back and forth on who we wanted to our officiate our wedding. We both felt this was one of the most important vendor selections in the whole process. We were so indecisive that with 3 months to go until the wedding we still hadn’t chosen anyone. I was searching vendors one night and came across Gary’s website. We had an intro call and then meet him in person. We immediately get comfortable with Gary even though we barely knew him. His personality was exactly what we were looking for. We could not have been more thrilled to work with Reverend Gary and the amazing job he did on our wedding day. We both were raised Catholic but do not currently practice; we knew we didn't want a religious ceremony, but we wanted some familiar aspects of our Christian faith and upbringing. We also opted not to have a friend or family member officiate as we wanted someone with experience and who we felt like we could trust to be in charge (and not stress out!). I did a lot of research to find a minister I felt was authentic and genuine, without being stuffy or boring. Enter: Gary! To start, he walked us step-by-step through the planning process, offering insightful guidance when requested. The day of, Gary could not have done a more incredible job. He made everyone involved in the ceremony feel informed and prepared, and guided everything seamlessly. All of our guests couldn't get over how special they thought our ceremony was, and so many were moved to heartfelt tears. He expertly wove together all the parts and pieces, and truly made our ceremony feel uniquely "us." For so many weddings we've attended, we've felt like the ceremony was just a stuffy obligation to get through before the party; ours was the most beautiful symbol of our love and relationship. We are so happy to have chosen Gary as our officiant! We got his name through a friend who had him at their wedding which was wonderful and the second we met him immediately loved him. His energy is the definition of happy, he makes you feel so comfortable with the whole process walking you through each step. He gives you so many options for whatever kind of ceremony you want and meeting with him is so easy! He’s very flexible with when and where to meet, on time for everything, will respond back to any questions you have quickly and he’s super helpful. Our wedding on 9/14/18 was nothing short of amazing. Immediately after our ceremony ended, all the guests came up to me asking “where did you get your officiant?!” Many even asked if he was also a stand up comedian- and I said no but he is an Emmy award winner :) From the first phone call with Gary to meeting him before the wedding to our wedding day, we feel so comfortable with him. He tailored our ceremony to us and made it so special. He included personal things about us and had our guests laughing one minute and crying the next! Rev. Gary was amazing! From the first time we sat down with him, we could tell how passionate he was about what he did. Reverend Gary was an absolute pleasure to work with. From the first time we met, at the local diner, to discuss our ideas and plans for our ceremony, he made us feel so important. We felt very comfortable discussing everything with him and he asked great questions when getting to know us that reminded me of why we chose to get married to each other. The variety of options he provides for the style and type of ceremony were extremely helpful and the best was we were able to really personalize it. He was extremely helpful throughout the process and punctual when responding to emails. We chose to have Gary officiate our wedding after meeting with him for about an hour or so. He spent some time asking us questions and getting to know us, and at the end of the meeting we were sure that we had the right person. We knew that we wanted a non-religious ceremony, and he had plenty of pre-written ones that met our needs well. We were able to customize our ceremony via email, and the process couldn’t have been smoother. He was accommodating to our preferences and had many great ideas and suggestions along the way. The actual ceremony he gave was perfect. Our friends and family were so impressed and were surprised to find out that we hadn’t actually known him all our lives. He also made the process of completing our marriage license a breeze. We highly recommend Reverend Deinstadt.

Reverend Gary was absolutely perfect as the officiant for our wedding on 9/29/17. He is truly a sweet, gentle and wonderful human being. I knew very little about the whole ceremony process when we got engaged, but Reverend Gary guided us through so many different options. He showed us everything from a Traditional Religious Ceremony to a Contemporary Semi-Religious Ceremony (yes, that's the name of it, and yes, that's the one we chose!). He took detailed notes and really took time to get to know us - I knew right away that we would be booking him. We worked with him to add in pieces that fit our relationship perfectly, including a ring warming ceremony where everyone in the audience passed along our ring box to give a personal wish. This happened during the ceremony, which I thought was a nice way to keep guests "occupied" during the vows! Throughout the period leading up to the wedding, we spoke with Reverend Gary over email and the phone. He was so kind and helpful with every single detail. I actually learned so much about the process of "getting married" from him - he guided us through all the steps of obtaining a marriage license and other important tips. Once it came time for the ceremony, Reverend Gary surpassed our expectations. He added in a few personal words at the end, and had the whole audience sniffling. Everything that he said was moving and beautiful, and he even added a few well-placed laughs. He was one of the main reasons that the mood of our wedding started off beautifully and positively. We could not be happier to recommend him to anyone getting married in the NY or CT areas. You will not be disappointed!!!

Rev Gary is one of a kind. From our first meeting you can tell how much your wedding means to him. He takes notes and asks questions about your relationship to really get to know you. I sent Rev Gary a deposit check the next day after meeting him. He is so organized and was so communicative through the entire process making sure the ceremony was exactly what we wanted. He is willing to perfect and personalize every single line of your ceremony until you are completely satisfied with it. The day of the wedding he could not have spoken more eloquently, or be more heartfelt in his delivery. Not only did we love it, but got multiple compliments from our guests about how nice and professional Rev Gary was. My now husband and I first met with Rev. Gary at a convenient half way point between all of us, and within the first 5 minutes we knew he would be the one to marry us. We had such a warm and pleasant conversation and he asked deep questions to really try to learn more about us. We booked him right away and he sent us samples of the different types of ceremony options. We knew we wanted an outdoor ceremony, but my husband is Catholic and he really wanted a religious ceremony. I on the other hand wanted something very personal and emotional. We found the perfect blend in one of Rev. Gary's ceremony options. Communication with him leading up to the wedding was easy and he always answered promptly (sometimes he even gave me reminders I had forgotten about).
