Working with Rev. Whalen was a wonderful experience. He took the time to know our love story. He gave us several readings to choose from for our ceremony and took care of all the paper work. The day of our wedding my brother asked me how long I knew Rev. Whalen and I said not long at all. He spoke of our journey to become husband and wife as if he knew us right from the beginning. Mike made the whole process so easy!! We got married at The English Manor on 10/8/2023 and the whole process leading up to, the work needed day-of, and processing paperwork afterward was a breeze with Mike. He knew exactly what we were looking for when we couldn’t quite voice it ourselves, was full of suggestions when we were looking for readings outside the norm, and he made us feel very calm during the actual ceremony. We didn’t need him to attend the rehearsal and he was still flawless! My family is hard to please and they were complimenting Mike all around. I would recommend him over and over again.

Rev Michael Whalen is the officiant that you want for your ceremony!! We initially found him on the knot, and he was recommended by our venue as well. During our initial conversation with him we felt extremely comfortable with him and that he understood what we wanted in our ceremony. He was great at communicating ahead of time. He sent drafts of the ceremony, suggested readings, etc. When we had questions or wanted to make changes to the ceremony, our comments were well received and he made the changes that we wanted. One of the best things, we had a unity ceremony, taking tequila shots together. He came up with a wonderful speech on how love and marriage are like a fine tequila. It was perfect and the guests loved it. Throughout the entire process Michael was everything we hoped for and more. He arrived early before the ceremony, had the marriage license filled out and signed by witnesses. The ceremony itself was exactly what we wanted, he was an excellent speaker and flowed through the ceremony, did the selected readings, our tequila shot unity ceremony. It went off perfectly. Rev. Mike Whalen was one of several officiants recommended by our venue. We spoke to 3 other officiants but immediately knew we wanted Rev. Mike as soon as we had our initial call with him. He was so personable and down to earth and took the time to get to know us as a couple and our story. Within a couple of days, he sent us a draft of his proposed ceremony, offered suggestions and encouraged us to make any changes that would make the ceremony more reflective of us. He was so kind as to even say a few words and sentences in Spanish and Arabic so that all our guests felt like a part of the ceremony. When we met Rev. Mike in person on our wedding day, he gave us a hug and even asked to meet our parents to offer his genuine congratulations. All our guests were really complimentary of the ceremony. We are forever grateful to Rev. Mike for making our day so special.

On 10/26/23, Rev. Michael Whalen married me and my husband, and we are so glad he did! Searching for the right Officiant was something that I took pretty seriously, as this was going to be the person speaking in front of our families and closest friends, and who would be marrying us of course. =) We spoke to about 10 officiants before finding Rev. Michael. He has a confident presence, speaks very clearly, and articulate, and made our ceremony feel warm and welcoming for all present. Michael is a great public speaker! He helped us in every step of our wedding from sending us drafts of the ceremony, to applying for our marriage license, to even mailing it out! He made the process so easy for us!

Rev Michael Whalen was amazing! He was very flexible with what we wanted out of the ceremony but also provided great suggestions on what to include most of which we included in our ceremony. We had our ceremony outside at our venue, so I searched high and low for an officiant with great reviews and good personality! Rev. Michael replied INSTANTLY and I had a phone call with him right away to discuss him officiating our wedding. We booked him that day and had a FaceTime meeting with him to talk about every detail and what we wanted for our ceremony! He was so easy to work with and sent over a draft very quickly. He was open to any of my edits to make it match perfectly to us and our story. On the day, he had an amazing presence and is so well spoken. Rev Michael Whalen was the perfect addition to our wedding. We saw him officiate our friends wedding and knew we had to reach out to him for our wedding. He was very professional and responsive to all our questions. Our ceremony was short and sweet which was exactly what we wanted. He had many layout options for us to choose from for our ceremony and made whatever adjustments we had asked of him. Rev Michael Whalen was leaving for a vacation the morning after our wedding super early in the morning, and not for one second did I get nervous he wasn't going to show or provide all the necessary documents we needed. Based on great reviews we decided on Rev. Michael to officiate our recent September ’22 wedding in Long Branch, and we are so happy that we did. Our ceremony was perfect, very much so because of Rev. Michael. The initial interview with Michael was very informative and detailed so that he can get to know you and have a clear understanding of what you’re looking for. Within a short period of time Michael returned the first draft of the script which we were very happy with and had very little changes to make. Michael is a great speaker and even added in some humor into the ceremony which is always a nice touch. It was a pleasure working with Rev. Michael and we would highly recommend him as your wedding officiant!!

Rev. Michael is truly a class act! I highly recommend him! My husband and I chose Rev. Michael because he truly took the time to get to know us even before he knew we would hire him for our wedding. Since my husband and I are not religious and didn’t have a long time relationship with a priest or pastor, it was important to find someone who could tell our story. We interviewed several people and Rev. Michael just felt right. It didn’t hurt that he was a golfer as we are avid golfers. And our intuition was right! As soon as we hired him it was just days when we received our first draft of our ceremony. And what an amazing 1st draft! It was so good that it became our final draft! He is an amazing writer and really took the time to create a beautiful ceremony for us to include various readings to choose from, vow samples and the idea of a beautiful rose tribute to my mom which was a classy touch. Through the whole process Rev. Michael was there guiding us and any questions I had he got back to me in less than 24 hours and most times within hours. Rev. Michael is a true class act! He worked with us to customize the entire ceremony, incorporating our love story, personalities and family traditions. When I was first looked into officiants during my wedding planning process, I interviewed 3 officiants before I contacted Rev. Whalen. Upon having our first meeting, I knew I wanted Rev. Whalen to officiate my wedding. He was a great communicator from day one. He would get back to me within hours, if not minutes. I changed my ceremony plan on him about 4 times before our wedding day and he didn't seem to mind once. On the day of our wedding, he was on time and explained the ceremony process to me. He even asked for clarification on how to pronounce some names so that he did not mess them up during the ceremony. Rev. Whalen made the ceremony quick and enjoyable. After the wedding, we received a call from the township that our marriage certificate was never received. I immediately reached out to Rev. Whalen and he called the township immediately and they confirmed there was an error on their end and they did in fact receive it. Rev. Whalen made the whole process a breeze and stress free. I would choose him all over again!
