We picked Sarah to be our officiant for the fact she was kind, gay friendly, and allowed us to incorporate religious parts of our ceremony in which we could not have due to not being able to get married in a catholic church. She said multiple times it’s OUR ceremony and she wanted it to be how we wanted it. My wife and I felt connected with her from the get go. So many of our loved ones texted us after the wedding and said she did an amazing job, especially with our love story and how she explained how we met. So personable! She was great all around from start to finish. We will absolutely be recommending her to others who may need an officiant.

Rev. Sarah Gutmann, she was amazing and just so personable. My husband and I were looking for an officiant as soon as we booked our venue and we were having some trouble. Thankfully we looked up local officiants in our area and the knot came up with several officiants. Sarah was the first person that came up so we took a risk and called and she answered right away. We right away got down to business because of me trying to get everything done just so before the big day. Sarah schedule a FaceTime call with my husband and I and we immediately started answering questions and telling her about special times in our lives and all personal things about our relationship. I loved every minute of our conversation and how professional she was with us and how nice she was. On the big day she read our special love story which she wrote but of course we told her about us we also answered our secret questions which is something optional for the big day so my husband and I did it and it was truly so special and unique. We did a butterfly release which was something special to my husband and I because of loved ones we lost. It was fantastic it was a hit. Something so different. My husband and I will be forever grateful to Sarah for going above and beyond to make our wedding the best day of our lives ! We are from California and Sarah helped us plan a surprise wedding in New York! There was so much to do and think about and Sarah was an integral part of guiding us. Her way of creating and guiding the ceremony was highly inclusive of what is really important to us and it was executed in an elegant and eloquent fashion. In addition, Sarah was always accessible when we needed her and she traveled quite a distance on a busy holiday weekend to do our wedding. Sarah is the best! My husband and I just loved her. She really is such a down to earth nice person. We had nothing big as for both of us it was our second marriage. Even as small as it was Sarah had contact with us from our first phone call with her. She also took time out of her day to meet us at the beach to marry us. She charged no extra fee for this. when my husband and I were looking for officiants we wanted someone who could tell our love story, include our nerdiness and bring laughter and tears to our ceremony. Sarah did just that! Sarah got to know us as a couple and made us feel very comfortable during our meeting. She made the whole process very smooth and there was no anxiety. If you are a Game Of Thrones fan she can even do the hand fasting/bonding ceremony from Game of Thrones which we loved! We are still getting compliments on how wonderful our ceremony was and how wonderful Sarah was! There was not a dry eye at our ceremony and there were quite a few chuckles!

Sarah is incredibly gifted. I wish there was a sixth star for me to go the extra mile because that is truly what she does. From the moment we first talked with her we were immediately at ease. Her process was so seamless. She fully customized every aspect of our ceremony, presented us with ideas and unique approaches that people are still talking about. Every person that attended has shared with us different components of the wedding that resonated with them (many to the point of tears, laughter, or both. She even gave us the idea to reveal our baby’s gender during the ceremony with colored sand which blew people’s minds. It was so special and it was all her. She has an incredibly calming presence, her humor is natural and universal. Nothing that she does feels forced or out of place. We were so lucky to have had Sarah as our officiant. I’ve been in many weddings, attended many weddings, and I can without the slightest hesitation say with certainty that she is the best I have seen. Her professionalism, punctuality, organizational skills, writing, speech, amiability, attention to detail, and creativity put her in a class of her own. It is easy to see that she loves what she does and her personality is the icing on the cake. We basically sprung our wedding on her a couple weeks before and you would think she had a year to prepare seeing the final product of her work. She will make your day special and you will go into it feeling confident just knowing she’ll be standing up there with you. We were so blessed to have her saying she was a “hit” is a huge understatement. She will craft you an unforgettable ceremony and make it literally whatever you want it to be. I cannot imagine there is another human being more deserving of the highest level of recognition that officiant’s are honored with. She told our love story so perfectly. You can trust in her. We did and she was the catalyst of a day I will remember for the rest of my life and I know my wife feels the same way. If I didn’t have work in the morning I would fill every space of this review box because that is the amount of effort she puts in and her participation and presence was truly priceless. Wow, Sarah! Her officiant speech was funny and sweet and we got SO many compliments saying how amazing she was. Could not recommend her enough. My husband and I met with her about 6 months before our wedding for an hour and when she gave the speech it was like she knew us forever! Her speech was so personal and on point that our guests thought she was a friend.

Sarah was awesome! From the very first time we talked to her she made everything very simple and made sure the ceremony would turn out just the way we would like it. She had tons of ideas and readings. The best doesn't even begin to explain it. We were lucky enough to stumble across Sarah on the knot site. I had no idea who was going to marry my husband and I but once we met Sarah we didn't have to look any further. She started off our wedding in the most incredible way, with a beautiful ceremony that was funny, personal, emotional and overall AMAZING! Sarah met with us a few months prior to our wedding. She asked us what we wanted for our ceremony and showed a genuine interest for making sure she was able to do just that. We both were not interested on doing a heavily religious ceremony so instead Sarah turned our ceremony into a reflection of our relationships journey with an all encompassing love story, paired with a few well timed jokes and emotional touches. I can' begin to tell you how amazing of a job Sarah did. From our initial meeting up to the big day she was incredible. She always answered emails and calls if we had any questions and we are so thrilled to have found her!

During our wedding planning process, we met with a total of 3 officiants. From the minute we met Sarah, we knew she was who we wanted! We met with her at a local Starbucks, sat and talked with her for an hour and a half...she took the time to really get to know us as a couple and who the most important people in our life were. She truly understood us as a couple!! I didn't want a boring ceremony that was "blah" and I never felt that way booking with Sarah!! The day of our wedding, EVERYONE, including people working at our venue were complimenting our ceremony. Everyone loved it, everyone loved how personal and warm it was! It was perfect! From our "fairytale love story" to stopping our ceremony so she could give our 4 year old flower girl her jacket because she was freezing to our pixie dust "You may kiss the bride"...it was perfect!!! Sarah was a fantastic officiant – we had a nondenominational wedding and were looking for someone extremely personable and caring to make our ceremony truly special – Sarah was the perfect person for that job. We booked Sarah about a year prior to our wedding and in our first “meeting”, Sarah facetimed us and asked us all the hard questions. At the time, it felt like a therapy session, but looking back, this allowed her to get to know us on a deeper, personal level. We appreciated this as this made the ceremony more unique and personable rather than just another, cliché ceremony. All of our guests ranted and raved about her, saying it was one of the best, if not the best, ceremonies they’ve witnessed. We were nervous about writing our own vows, but she provided comfort and feedback to each of us on how we should approach our vows and after we had drafted what we wanted to say, she provided feedback and suggestions along the way. She comes loaded with a bunch of suggestions and ideas to make your ceremony more personalized and fun. We highly recommend Sarah!

I contacted Sarah only about a month before our wedding (nothing like waiting until the last minute!) and she responded immediately. Lucky for us she was available and so easy to work with. We knew what we wanted and Sarah was very accommodating to our quick ceremony request. Our guests all complimented her sweet and short ceremony! Sarah was officiating a great friends wedding in June. I was a guest, and it was such a special ceremony because it was beyond obvious that Sarah took the time to get to know the couple, and make it very personalized to each of them. Sarah was wonderful to work with. We had a well planned elopement on the North Fork, with just us and my parents present. Although we did not have a traditional wedding, we wanted the day to be special and create a memory that will last a lifetime. Rev. Sarah was great. She co-officiated our wedding on 9/22/18. She is very easy to communicate with and wrote a personalized love story that was both funny and touching. Sarah was amazing!! She was great to work with - we didn't really have a specific idea of how we wanted the ceremony to go but she handled everything and gave us a ton of ideas and talked us through what we wanted for the ceremony and the best way to do it. She responded quickly (even when she was oversees on vacation) and managed to hit all of the necessary requirements of our ceremony. She knew we wanted to keep it short but also include our family and friends, so she planned the ceremony perfectly! She is funny- which you will immediately understand upon first meeting Sarah. Everyone commented on how funny and entertaining the ceremony was. But don't get it wrong, if you want a more serious tone she is fully capable of doing that as well. We wouldn't change a single thing about the ceremony, it was perfect! We would - and will - continue to recommend her to all of our friends getting married.

Sarah <3 omg my wife and I loveddd Sarah. After finding out that our officiant fell through, Sarah was so prompt and answered our inquiry so fast. She was actually away when we got a hold of her but that didn’t stop her from FaceTiming with us to introduce herself. More than an hour later and we just loved everything she threw at us. Sarah Gutmann is not only a phenomenal officiant, but a truly kind and compassionate person. Sarah officiated our wedding on October 7, 2017 and was wonderful! Couldn't have asked for a better officiant and she handled the atmosphere (was on the water so very windy) perfectly!

During our wedding planning, my now husband and I knew we wanted two things out of our ceremony: 1. Not boring, 2. (and most importantly) It needed to feel like "us". We didn't want a generic ceremony that could have been written about any couple. We needed someone who could convey our story in a sincere and beautiful way. And Sarah was absolutely that person. Since we live on the west coast, we skype interviewed our officiants to make sure we had someone who we clicked with. And what was supposed to be a 30-60 min interview turned into a 2+ hour conversation of laughter and emotions. She was just amazing from the start. While I am a very outgoing person and getting my thoughts and feelings is very easy, she was even able to work incredibly well with my introverted husband. She made us feel completely at ease, like a friend we've known for years. She then took everything we talked about and turned it into something we could share with our loved ones. The first time I read through our ceremony, I cried. And on the day of our wedding during our ceremony, I did it again. Most people only get complimented on how beautiful their ceremony was (if they get complimented at all), but so many of our guests told us how touching it was and how much of us was in every detail. She was so wonderful to work with and she is why I will always remember our ceremony as being absolutely perfect!

Sarah was an absolutely amazing officiant!! Everyone at our wedding commented about what a fabulous job our officiant did and how lovely the ceremony was. Sarah incorporated personalized details about our relationship, Jewish traditions and had the ceremony flow well. Our entire wedding was a dream, but Sarah's ceremony was what made our day so special. My husband and I cried when we read our Love Story for the first time. Sarah was incredible to work with from the beginning, our Facetime chat was seriously fun! She was able to capture so much from that 1.5 hour convo. Our guests laughed, cried, but most of all, loved how personal the ceremony was. After we walked down the aisle, I looked at my husband and said "that was so much fun!" I read reviews like crazy before booking Sarah, and they were all true!! She also had us covered when we lost our copy of the marriage license needed for our honeymoon. PERFECT! We had a perfect day for a wedding on the beach, my Bride to be looked perfectly beautiful and Sarah created the most perfect ceremony! I had spoken to two other officiants before speaking with Sarah, immediately I knew Sarah would be our choice for our very special day because of her professionalism and her enthusiasm. Sarah performed my sons baptism exactly the way I had envisioned it. It was perfect. Then a week later, by surprise, she married my cousin and did a great job. By the questions Sarah has you answer she gets a feel for who you are and can create a beautiful ceremony.

Sarah was our Officiant for our wedding back in April of 2017. When planning a wedding, many vendors are involved, so it is imperative to work with people that try to simplify the experience and not complicate it. In our opinion, Sarah made the experience simple, flawless, and provided us with a ceremony that was even more than we could have hoped for. It was truly personalized to the groom and I and we absolutely loved it.

We had a little hiccup with our shuttle company bringing guests and Sarah even stepped up to call the hotel while my husband and I relaxed before the ceremony. She went above and beyond. Sarah is an amazing officiant! She is the only officiant we met with and after meeting her once, I knew we wanted to use her for our ceremony. She skyped with us for our first meeting to accommodate our busy schedules and wrote our "Love Story" based off of that meeting. She is so easy to reach and speak to, I highly recommend her. She also recommended to us the unity wine ceremony and to be honest my husband and I were not too interested in doing a unity ceremony and first but she found the perfect one to complement our personalities.

Sarah was the officiant for our 10/1/16 wedding and the ceremony was even more amazing than we hoped and planned it would be. We interviewed a handful of other officiants located on LI and in NYC about a year before our wedding including Sarah. In the interviews we found the others to be either boring, pompous or kind of rude, or a mix of all three. Sarah was warm and inviting from the beginning, and she never suggested the ceremony was about her and her words but was adamant that the ceremony was 100% about us and our love. And that came shining through on our day. Even my mother, who was disappointed we did not get married in a church, said it was the most personal, beautiful ceremony she had ever witnessed. When an Italian mother forgets about a Priest marrying you and brags to her friends about your "super special ceremony," that's when you know your officiant was special! Sarah was easy to work with and was always available by Skype, phone or email as we don't live on LI. I especially liked her building the ceremony around our "love story" and the flexibility to make the ceremony as religious and spiritual or non-denominational as we wished. She provided a ton of different readings, poems and ideas to include in the ceremony and it was so easy to tweak and tailor it as we wanted.. We also didn't want a long ceremony and tried to keep it under 20 minutes. Despite it being a bit shorter than most, it was not rushed nor did Sarah skimp on "quality." We were also able to add in things that let our personalities shine through, like having family and friends surprise us with readings and a "Warming of the Rings" ceremony so all 4 parents were involved. So many friends and family approached us right afterwards and told us how much they loved the ceremony and how special it was. We have been reliving random moments from the ceremony for the last month, and can't thank Sarah enough for the amazing memories she has given us and our families. We highly recommend her.

Sarah was an AMAZING officiant for our interfaith ceremony. My husband and I were looking for someone who would perform a personalized ceremony that incorporated some of our favorite aspects of each of our faiths, without making the other side of the family feel out of place. Sarah was the perfect start to our wedding! She is dedicated to personalizing every ceremony that she officiates. In fact, months prior to the wedding she spent over an hour (we live far away) video chatting with us in order to learn details about our relationship. Overall, we had a wonderful experience with Reverend Sarah! She wrote the most perfect love story story for us and put together a ceremony that many guests later described as "the most beautiful ceremony they had ever attended". She was personable and entertaining, able to quickly adapt to any quirks the ceremony through our way (planes flying overhead, baby crying, etc) which made potentially awkward moments laughable and fun. We had a small issue with our marriage license but luckily it is not getting in the way of anything so it should be just fine. I would absolutely recommend Reverend Sarah. Sarah is fantastic! We met her last year at a friend's wedding that she officiated. As we sat guests at our friends wedding I was moved by the touching ceremony she custom created for them. It fit their personality so well and brought me to tears of love. I knew that when my husband and I were to get married, there was only one person that I'd want to officiate! Sarah Gutmann was someone we picked to marry us because we wanted a non religious ceremony at our venue. We had originally planned to meet at a coffee shop shortly after speaking but never had a chance so Sarah contacted us via FaceTime and made sure to ask us about ourselves individually and as a couple. I cannot say much considering we did not meet until the actual day of the wedding but her pricing is reasonable, she was on time and our guests seemed to enjoy her. I enjoyed the heartfelt story she told about us just through the answers to questions that we gave her, it almost felt like she really knew us. We think we made the right choice choosing Sarah.

Sarah was the first and only wedding officiant we needed to talk to! She sat with us for about an hour and learned about our love story, and asked about what kind of ceremony we wanted. Sarah Guttman wrote our love story but it was her associate Sarah McCormick who did our actual ceremony as Ms. Guttman was already booked that day. Guttman did a great job writing our love story and really captured all the details that were important to us! She is very friendly and accommodating with our busy work schedule so we mostly met over FaceTime. McCormick was also so nice and great to work with and equally as accommodating, meeting us over facetime so we could hear her practice as well which was great.

Sarah performed our wedding ceremony at the Soundview on 6/17. It was such a beautiful & special ceremony. She added so many personalized details and wrote such a nice love story for us. Our guests commented how nice it was and how many unique touches it had. Sarah was also very friendly and easy to work with.

We used Rev. Sarah Gutmann for our October 3 wedding at the Venetian Yacht Club. She was amazing! We had numerous email & video communication prior to the big day. She wrote a beautiful (and humorous, since that is what we wanted) love story for us that she read. She included all the things we wanted her to include and made it about us. Numerous people came up to us after the wedding and said that they felt like that was one of the best ceremonies they have seen because it was all about us. She made it very easy for us to choose what we wanted in our ceremony, including a sand ceremony that was perfect. She even had the option of videotaping it! I thought she did a great job and made our wedding day perfect!

There should be a sixth star. Sarah was always quick to respond to emails and phone calls during the months and weeks and even the day of the wedding to coordinate our big day. She is friendly and hardworking and together, we achieved a dream ceremony. My husband's sister got married a week before us so we were able to share tips and info… She met with Sarah and immediately recommended her after their first meeting. I understood immediately after meeting her - she's just that cool. She gets to know you as a couple through laughs and casual conversation, then she somehow writes a perfect love story out of that that's included in your ceremony. I was blown away when I read ours! We are so thankful to have selected Rev. Sarah to officiate our wedding! She was referred to us when our original officiant cancelled and we are lucky to have her. Let me begin by saying that you will not find an officiant more personable than Sarah. To start, we had a sit down meeting that was so relaxed and fun. My (now) husband and I went home feeling like, "wow, that was so fun and easy!" Since that meeting, she was prompt in responding to e-mails and helped us out tremendously on putting the entire ceremony together. My husband and I were looking for a more low-key, non-religous ceremony that was intimate and sentimental. We had already been together for so long, so we wanted the ceremony to be more about the love we'd shared for almost a decade. Sarah couldn't have pieced it together for us any better. AND to top it off, she wrote an amazing story that reflected OUR love story based on our very meeting with her. It couldn't have been written any better and were so grateful. She really listened to what we were looking for in an officiant and ceremony. We were so happy with our first meeting with her that we immediately recommended her to my brother. She of course, did an amazing job for them as well...but will let him and his wife to leave their grateful review. :)

Sarah was amazing and she made the whole process of writing your vows and planning your ceremony seamless. I would highly recommend her to anyone. We don't live near Sarah but she was available via email, call, Skype, whatever we needed and we did even meet her in person beforehand on a special trip out to the ceremony sight before the wedding. Finding our officiant was probably the most important part of our wedding planning. We wanted to be sure that the ceremony reflected us and wasn't just some cookie cutter ceremony.
