Rev. Thomas Lawrence when we first met him came off a bit hard to read. I didn't know if some of his comments were him being serious or sarcastic but I decided I would give him the benefit of the doubt. During the planning process when ever I did email him I was always very friendly but his responses were usually very short and to the point never really seemed as though he was being very friendly. I brushed it off and decided as long as he marry's us and does what he has to do without any problems then all would be okay. The day of the wedding I was not part of the rehearsal since I didn't want to see the groom before the wedding and Rev. Thomas DOES NOT to rehearsal prior to the wedding day. I explained to him everything I wanted but on the wedding day he tried to change my line up of the bridal party and without anyone knowing changed the music for the ceremony with my DJ so imagine my surprise when the doors open for me to walk down the aisle and the song playing is without a doubt not the song I chose as well as the song playing for us to walk back down the aisle. The third thing he did that really annoyed me was during the ceremony he corrected me when I went right to give the maid of honor my flowers instead of going left as he asked me. After the wedding a lot of the staff working on our wedding made comments that he didn't come off in a nice way. If you are looking for someone who is going to be really friendly and personal then I wouldn't recommend Rev. Thomas. On the other hand we are married and because of him so if you want someone who is there to marry you and you could care less if he wants to do things only how he wants it to be done then he would be perfect for your ceremony.
The words he said in the ceremony (included in his standard script) were nice. Luckily that was the only part our guests saw. However I asked via email if he could personalize it a bit and he agreed. Then on the day of the ceremony completely ignored the revised script we agreed on. He was also very gruff on the day of the wedding. During a day when the bride and groom are nervous there is no reason for him to be yelling at me or my bridal party during the rehearsal. Even our coordinator made a comment to me after the wedding about his rude behavior. Not recommended.
