Reverend Kate McGee

We chose to have Kate come to Chicago to officiate our wedding in May 2013. Leading up to the big day we were able to have Skype sessions for our premarital counseling which was super convenient and one less thing to stress about amidst wedding planning! Despite the fact that we weren't meeting face to face, Kate made all of the sessions feel very personal -- we really feel like she was able to get to know both of us well. We felt really comfortable sharing our views on everything from religion to family and from stresses to finances. There was never judgement--even when it came to planning the ceremony which we wanted to be religious, but 'not too much' and wanted to tweak some of the readings/vows etc. to make us more comfortable. When it came to our big day, Kate did not disappoint. Our wedding ceremony was just the best. Kate made everything so personal & special-- and was really able convey our personalities throughout. I've been to so many weddings in the last few years and the ceremonies feel that they could have been interchanged as they really weren't personal--many seemed a bit stuffy and formal. I know that ours stood out from the rest as the whole thing seemed to really fit my husband and I. I've had more compliments on our ceremony and how nice it was that it was religious yet relaxed and really reflected our personalities. I can't say enough good things about Kate! She was amazing :)
