He arrived on-time for the rehearsal the day before and things felt promising despite the fact that I had to ask Lou for a written contract for services, as he said he usually works on a verbal agreement, which did not sit right with me for such a formal event.. However. Lou completely MISSED our wedding the day-of. We got married in Hilton Head Island on a Saturday in June, which is notorious for its traffic. Lou was traveling from Savannah and has done weddings on HHI before so he should know the traffic patterns as well as any other vendors. All the other vendors arrived ahead of time. Even the cake was delivered from Charleston ahead of time. Our ceremony was scheduled to start at 4 PM and we were alerted at 3:45 PM that he would not arrive until 5:30 PM. So he was essentially a NO-SHOW to our wedding. I try to be reasonable and understanding of circumstances, but this felt completely unacceptable to myself, the groom, and basically everyone who attended the wedding. Thankfully, my husband and I were able to come to a quick resolution and the ceremony was able to start at 4:15 PM. But having a wedding at the Beach House specifically, the Tiki Hut music had to stop and we had to take up part of the public beach. I refused to prolong the ceremony until 5:30 PM because I was not going to let my guests who traveled to this destination wait an hour and a half in the sun and humidity and I was not going to force the public beach goers and Tiki Hut enjoyers to pause their experiences any longer than necessary just for us 2 people. Thankfully, I was scheduled to pay Lou after the ceremony, so I did not lose any money. I reached out to Lou and he confirmed this, though I was disappointed he never reached out to me first and it took me sending an email from my honeymoon 3 days later for him to apologize. Extremely disappointing and I unfortunately cannot recommend Rev. Lou to future brides & grooms.

oke. Our ceremony felt so personal, so intentional, and so us — nothing cookie-cutter about it. He completely encompassed the charm and spirit of the town we were married in, which made everything feel even more magical and meaningful. He made us feel like we were the most special couple in the world that day. He even created our wedding vow books (such an incredible touch we’ll treasure forever!), and our guests could not stop talking about how much they loved him. And let’s just say… Lou showed up looking absolutely dapper. We adore him and couldn’t recommend him more 🤍✨
