to me to find a venue where both the outdoor and indoor ceremony spaces were equally beautiful - I feel like often spaces don’t have the best indoor ceremony space, but Rev Mill easily fit that requirement. We didn’t have to do much decorating which was great, and the in house catering via Pepper Moon was fantastic - definitely the best food I’ve had at a wedding and tons of personalization available. They didn’t bat an eye when we made requests to accommodate some gluten free guests, and were very flexible with giving us time to decide on indoor vs outdoor ceremony when the week of forecast wasn’t looking great. Sometimes communication could be a little slow, but overall all our questions and requests were answered and we’d have an event there again in a heartbeat.
Revolution Mill is STUNNING and we are so glad we went with this venue. Everyone that works there is so kind and made sure our day ran smoothly.

h add-ons. We toured and booked with Ben and were handed off to Aimee for all things planning. In our experience with her she was not as responsive to emails and inquiries as I had hoped a wedding venue would be.
Although this is in no way a direct reflection of the venue’s stance on the subject, from what I personally understand about the wedding industry, the justification for venues and vendors to up charge for weddings is based on the fact that you are getting above and beyond service over what you would receive for a non-wedding event, but unfortunately I do not feel we necessarily received that leading up to our wedding.
Don’t get me wrong, our meetings with Aimee were great, she was organized, gave us tips and suggestions when we weren’t sure how we wanted to do something, and made sure everything came together in the end. It was just scary, especially in the few months before the wedding leading up to deadlines, requesting information from her and having to wait a week or more for a response and sometimes having to follow up multiple times before hearing anything. For comparison, all of our other vendors usually responded next day to inquiries.
Luckily we did pretty much the bare minimum as far as decor, catering, rentals, etc, so there weren’t as many moving parts as, say, someone who had draping, uplighting, multiple interactive stations, rentals, and things like that. So the times we did have to wait for a response weren’t a huge deal. I have no doubt she had everything under control, it just seemed that maybe there is a need for more people in her position to relieve some of the load off her.
The only thing that really went wrong on wedding day was the chairs on either side of the aisle were not positioned so that the aisle was centered on the window we got married in front of. This is not even something that was on my radar to check and I immediately noticed when while I was walking down the aisle. We did not get to rehearse at the venue so this may have been caught if we had. It just seems like something at least someone working there would have noticed if they regularly set up for weddings in that location. Now all of our ceremony pics are off center lol.
Alex was our venue manager for the day of the wedding. She definitely made our lives easier, working with our coordinator and photographer to keep everything on schedule. She was more behind the scenes day of but she occasionally checked up on us to make sure we didn’t need anything. She was great to work with!
Peppermoon catering was great as well. We went to multiple showcases at the venue where you get to try menu items so we knew the food was good, but we got multiple compliments from guests as well. Overall, I think I would recommend The Colonnade for a wedding, as our experience may have just been a one-off since we did have such a simple wedding, time and attention may have been allotted to other couples with more going on details wise.

ntive and world class. Jaime was always quick to respond to our emails and questions and made sure that all our requests were completed. Our wedding day was absolutely special, and our guests loved the beautiful and historic venue space. We enjoyed the wedding showcase put on by The Colonnade because it allowed us to sample the food and to see what decor and vendors we wanted for our wedding. A big advantage of The Colonnade as compared to other venues was that they took care of a lot of the heavy lifting, providing much of the equipment, supplies, services that you would need for a wedding, such as china and cutlery, wine glasses, drapes and lighting, linens, chairs, catering, and a full-service bar. The billing and quotes for our wedding were all transparent, and we felt that we paid exactly what we were quoted with no surprises. The food for our wedding was delicious and received many compliments from our guests. The wait staff were professional, and we loved having Randy as our Event Manager. Peppermoon catering was also wonderful. There are several packages to choose from and you can mix and match. Very easy to work with and you are given prices up front. There is no surprise at the end of what you are paying

ls is such a beautiful location filled with character and charm. This location will give you many different way to set up and allows for you to have both your ceremony and reception on site. Plus what bride doesn't want to have one of the biggest and most beautiful bridal suites around!! Jaime and Randy are two of the most hardworking, trusting, and understanding people I have met. I felt like my wedding was in the best hands possible with them. There are many times when I had a question or wanted to make changes and Jaime would always respond so quickly which is necessary especially when trying to plan your big day from Charlotte. ina while we taught English to university students. Our engagement occurred in China and that means our wedding planning did as well. Jaime was so patient with us and extended a lot of grace to us as communication from the other side of the globe can be tricky (China is 12 hours ahead of the US). ly 28, 2018. Throughout our one-and-a-half-year engagement, Jaime kept in touch with us, often checking in, and helped us plan our special day. She was friendly, hospitable, and kind from the moment we inquired about getting married at the Colonnade at Revolution Mill.
As our engagement progressed, Jaime reminded us of items that needed to be complete, sent us our updated contract(s) as we made changes, and really focused on what was important to us on our wedding day. She provided us with multiple opportunities to attend tastings and allowed us to walk through the venue closer to our big day to get a feel of how things would work. Jaime answered all of my emails immediately and was so easy to correspond with.
Revolution Mill is an absolutely gorgeous venue. We used the ivory linens that were provided and added our own blush accents. Jaime even put us in contact with a company that we could rent linens and other items from for our special day. Any time that Jaime saw an opportunity to help us save money, she shared it with us so that we could decide whether to pursue the suggestion.
Our food was out of this world! We received so many compliments from our guests about our menu options. The staff was accommodating and made my husband and I feel like royalty on our wedding day. We wanted for nothing. The staff also treated our guests with respect and hospitality. Many of our guests complimented how friendly the staff was and how much they enjoyed our venue. We also received compliments about the venue’s beauty in general. It truly doesn’t get any better than Revolution Mill.
From start to finish, Jaime made the wedding planning process easy (and stress free). Whenever I was worried about something, she helped me through it and eased my mind. She and her staff were available on our wedding day from the moment that we woke up until the very last of our family and friends left.
Revolution Mill hosts several weddings throughout the year, sometimes multiple weddings during the same weekend. However, Jaime made me feel special and important. Whenever I spoke with her, she made me feel like I was the only bride that mattered. That is such an important quality for a venue manager to possess – as it is easy to shuffle your many brides along when you are so busy. Jaime never did that though. I always felt like she cared, like she listened, and like she wanted to make our day truly amazing!
If you are looking for the most gorgeous wedding venue in the triad area, Revolution Mill is it. You will not be disappointed with the venue, the staff, or Jaime! We cannot recommend Revolution Mill highly enough.

Revolution is up-front about pricing and is not going to nickle and dime you or set unrealistic expectations. Their pricing is also extremely fair and they have options for all budgets. Rev Mill hosted several "open houses" that they invite future brides to which are a great opportunity to see different options. They have local vendors come set up florals and decorations and allow you to taste a ton of different food options from Peppered Moon. It is so nice to be able to visit multiple times for ideas and inspiration.
I truly believe that the #1 key to success in a venue is management and Rev Mill has got a great management team. You can rest assured that RM will be completely prepared for your big day. Aside from the great team, the space is absolutely gorgeous. The fact that you can utilize all of the outside and inside space for the same price is amazing. The venue is so clean and beautiful but still a little industrial/rustic too. I loved that my wedding didn't have to just be one theme because of the diversity of the space. Ultimately, I could not recommend Revolution Mill more and am so happy that I chose this wedding venue.

cocktail hour with a pianist providing music (wonderful to already have two pianos on site!) followed by a seated dinner for about 130 and then an after-party in the lovely courtyard for about 210 guests. Summer heat and threatening weather moved the after-party indoors so we were so thankful to have chosen a venue and caterer for the event that allowed the flexibility for the last minute change of plans. I also loved that the facility was already set up with monitors and a sound system for the rehearsal dinner video and the venue itself is so beautiful and unique that we did not need to go overboard on flowers and decorating. Everyone, from the bartenders and security folks to the servers and chefs, seemed so eager to please and their initiative and efficiency went a long way to making the evening a big success. We could not have been more pleased with how smoothly everything ran and how gracious, professional, and CALM both Bethann and Jaime were throughout the planning process as well as during the event. y used our flowers as decorations. We had several compliments from guests on what a unique and beautiful space this is. The staff was very helpful and an ease to work with.
*Couple things to note: there is a "warming kitchen" but not a full kitchen. That did not cause any problem for our caterer for the food since they cooked it then brought it but we realized as we got closer to the wedding that there is not a dishwasher to wash glasses for drinks. We had to use up whatever glasses we rented from the caterer, then go to plastic. Not a huge deal, but just something to note. You also have to rent outdoor chairs from another source and are responsible for putting them out and putting them away afterwards. Again not a big deal but something to know ahead of time. Overall, really fantastic venue!!!

ent manager's a week before my wedding. Not a huge deal but the change in level of customer service was extremely different. My inital experience working with Revolution was excellent, while after the change in event manager's was not the same. Fortunately, the wedding was still the wedding of my dreams and everything went well. The new event managers need to work on their customer service skills.

ebrations. The only thing is depending on your budget and the number of attendees the seating inside can become quite tricky for more than 150 if you're having your wedding there. Also depending on your catering budget and linen, I found that my catering and venue charge there would have probably been comparable to Grandover. Grandover initially scared me away because they present a package figure instead of just a venue charge but I had committed to Revolution before I realized that I was going to spend practically the same amount.
I love the place but if you have a large wedding with a catering budget around $8000 then you should really consider them both before making your decision!
