Ria was absolutely wonderful as our wedding officiant. From the beginning, she was professional, responsive, and helped make the entire process stress-free. She took the time to understand what we wanted and created a ceremony that felt personal and meaningful.
One thing we especially appreciated was her ability to conduct our ceremony in both English and Spanish. Having a bilingual officiant allowed all of our family and friends to feel included and connected to the ceremony, which meant so much to us.
On our wedding day, everything went smoothly, and Ria helped create a warm, welcoming atmosphere that made us feel comfortable and relaxed. We received many compliments from our guests and couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out.

Ria was an absolute gem to work with. She is kind and charismatic, a perfect fit for someone to lead our ceremony. She had previously been the officiant for my sister’s wedding and she was so good at their wedding that we decided to hire her for ourselves! We personally did one of her premade ceremony scripts which was beautiful, but she is also a fantastic writer and can curate your ceremony to whatever you want! She was prompt at responding and on time for everything. We would recommend her to anyone looking for an officiant !

Ria Roth a Wedding Officiant, Spiritual & Meditation Teacher, Holistic Practitioner, Artist, Oneness Facilitator and Spanish-language Interpreter in private practice since 2000. Ria attended Hunter College of the City of New York and graduated with a BA in Philosophy.
Ria is passionate about helping others discover purpose, joy and meaning in their lives and draws from a wealth of modalities, training, and life experience to help her clients create lasting change and well-being.
Ria is a warm, experienced, charismatic and creative Wedding Officiant, specializing in creating beautiful, unique and authentic ceremonies. She delights in working with all beliefs and traditions.
While Ria officiates mostly English-language ceremonies, she is fully bilingual Spanish-English, and has knowledge of Indian tradition from her time in India. Ria delights in working with couples of all faiths, drawing from her Christian upbringing as well as her experience with Taoism, Native American spirituality and Hinduism.
Whatever vision you have of your wedding, Ria will help you create a beautiful, memorable ceremony! As a special offering, the non-denominational Oneness Blessing can be added to any ceremony she officiates. Another beautiful add-on are the Hand-crafted Blessed Candles Ria creates for her couples, to bless their marriage and to use in their Unity Candle Ceremony!
Ria's personal journey has included a traditional Christian upbringing, an apprenticeship with a Taoist coach, mentoring by a Native American Shaman, learning meditation at the feet of a wise spiritual teacher, and studying in India under the guidance of Awakened Beings.
In her free time Ria enjoys making Blessed Candles, walking in nature, watching indie films, trying new recipes, decorating, and cuddling with her kitties Thomas & Tucker!

s our officiant, but Ria had an initial meeting with us to get to know us which made us feel more comfortable working with her. Ria is such a friendly person and so easy to work with. She helped us create the core pieces of our ceremony and provided us with tons of example readings and other key portions for the ceremony. She then built out our ceremony around what we selected. At our rehearsal, she made us both feel ready for the ceremony and even added in some expertise I was not expecting like how to hold my bouquet and what pace to walk with down the aisle. We received SO MANY complements on our ceremony and Ria specifically. She made the process of completing the marriage license seamless by mailing it for us after the ceremony. She is kind, professional, and communicative. The ceremony was truly so special and we are so thankful to Ria.

Even in unusual heat for September, Ria ensured our ceremony was absolutely beautiful. Despite not originally knowing and being referred to Ria by the owner of our Venue, by the time we got married Ria had taken enough time to get to know us she truly felt like family from our conversations including calls, texts, and even a dinner the week before our wedding. Her attention to detail was unmatched, even ensuring her outfit colors coordinated with our color scheme. Ria also led us Rehearsal and our guests could not stop talking about how funny and wonderful she was, even when practicing in the heat. As a lesbian couple, we knew we wanted someone to solemnize our marriage that years down the road we could be not only comfortable with, but proud of. We found Ria through The Knot and after the first message we felt an instant connection. We scheduled a video call to discuss our wants and needs for the ceremony and Ria was able to guide us and help us through the process. From the get go, it felt like we found not only a vendor, but a friend. Her communication was top notch and although we weren't sure what we wanted in the ceremony prior to, she was able to provide exactly what we were looking for. She was so flexible and willing to work with us - even with another wedding, earlier on the same day! We had a zoom meeting with her, myself and my fiance and even just meeting through a camera- we knew had to have this amazing woman do our ceremony. y or friend group do the wedding or somebody related to their religious affiliation. We ultimately wanted our family and friends to enjoy the wedding and not have to stress about doing our ceremony. Our wedding planner put us in touch with Ria. We had our initial zoom consult and I felt very confident that Ria would be able to cater to our needs and do an excellent job. She got to know us and really asked what we were looking for in an officiant. She addressed every single question and concern we had with ease. Her communications skills ( which I value most) was top notch! She never took long to respond and was always eager to respond via text or email. I never felt like a bother to her. We also wern't sure if we were going to do a rehearsal dinner when we hired her and she was accommodating with leaving that option on the table until we did decide. It was a pleasure getting to meet her in person finally at our rehearsal dinner. I am so glad we did a few run throughs before the big day ( mostly to put the wedding party at ease!) . At the end of the day, we collaborated on the ceremony outline and loved how she customized it for us. Everyone that met Ria at our ceremony/rehearsal dinner LOVED her. She has an infectious energy that makes her perfect for this role. Our ceremony was beautiful and classy- there was absolutely nothing I would change. If you are looking for an officiant- look no further! Ria will be the perfect addition to your wedding day and you will be so happy you went with her. Thank you so much Ria!!!

The reason for the four stars is due to an issue with how the ceremony started vs how we rehearsed it. During rehearsal we discussed Ria being at the alter before we walked down. However, on the day of the wedding it didn’t happen that way. I was so caught up in the moment that I didn’t realize Ria wasn’t there when I got to the alter. I turned to watch my bride walk in as the doors opened. This is when Ria emerged from the bridal room which was off to the side. She stepped in from the side, and walked down the aisle in front of my wife and her mother. I’m unsure what went wrong, or caused the mix up. It was disappointing though as I only got a quick glimpse of my wife before I was watching Ria walk down to the song for my wife in front of them. On the plus side our guests didn’t seem to notice this, but we did. Everything else was very beautiful, and Ria really did do a great job with our ceremony! I would recommend using her, and just make sure everyone is on the same page. Thank you again Ria for the beautiful ceremony!

ownst to me, the processional was started without me by the venue coordinator, who knew that I was supposed to be first as they had attended the rehearsal. I was in the bridal suite, waiting for my cue. I understand your disappointment and I too wish it had happened the way we rehearsed it.

My now husband and I both received recommendations (from separate people) to reach out to Ria to officiate our wedding, and it was one of the best decisions we made. She gave wonderful guidance and suggestions based on our description of what traditions/religious pieces we envisioned being included and made what could have been a really overwhelming process run smoothly by giving very explicit and hard to forget instructions during our rehearsal. She will take the time to meet with you and your significant other to get a feel for your relationship, who you are together, and how she can incorporate that into your day.
Needless to say, Ria came up with absolutely beautiful, witty and heartwarming readings and speeches that fit our different religious backgrounds. People from both sides of our family told us all night what a beautiful ceremony it was.
She is the most calming presence, which is really important when you’re up in front of however many guests watching you... I truly felt like Ria, my fiancé and I were the only people in the room. Truly, at the end of the ceremony I was slightly startled to hear everyone clap and cheer. She’s also just an amazing person to get to know. 10/10, Highly recommend Ria Roth!
