The first question you probably think of when looking for a wedding photographer is, “What’s their style?” Dark & Moody? Bright & Airy? Bold & Vibrant? My style is your style. I believe part of being a professional photographer is being able to adapt to your client’s needs and tastes. These are are not “my” photographs, they’re yours. They tell your story, and I am here for it! My task is to take photos of your wedding day. My goal is to capture moments that become pieces of art in which you are featured. From hair and make-up in the morning to the sparkler send-off, my documentary-style of photography will capture all the major milestones of your wedding day along with all of the small details and moments that will tell the story of your wedding day for generations to come. It’s important to remember that wedding photos are not for today, or even tomorrow, they are for a generation from now when reminiscing on where your marriage began and sharing them with your children and grandchildren. Getting married is one of the most exciting times of your life! It’s a time to reflect and a time to look forward to everything that’s to come. You’re probably overwhelmed with all the wedding information out there, but don’t worry; you are not alone. Hiring experienced and professional wedding vendors is the key to ensuring your day runs smoothly and it allows you and your families to actually enjoy your wedding day instead of stressing about the details. Snapping a photo is easy, but directing a client and leading them confidently throughout the process is something entirely different. This is something I not only strive to do, but enjoy doing each and every time. We booked Richard as our photographer without even meeting him first, because we trusted the judgement of our wedding planner, Nicole at Premier Party Planners. Our wedding date was set for May 8, 2020 and was originally supposed to be a big event at Chatham Station with about 180 guests. That obviously couldn’t happen but we didn’t want to wait to get married. We decided to do a very small ceremony with less than 10 people at home in our backyard. Richard and Nicole still agreed to come and be a part of our day. Richard was amazing. The pictures turned out even better than I could have imagined. He was professional, polite, easy-going, and has a great eye for getting the best photos. It even rained on our wedding day and Richard pulled up the radar on his phone and found us a 30 minute window to get some pictures without rain. The day wouldn’t have been the same if we didn’t have the photos Richard took to look back on. I cannot recommend him enough!

It is hard to sum up just how incredible Richard Barlow is. We’ve had the pleasure of seeing him photograph two of our closest friends’ weddings, so there was never really a doubt in our minds that he would be the perfect fit for our own. We have always felt that Richard has an incredible ability to capture the love, beauty, and emotion in each photograph he takes. I should note that my wife and mother-in-law both do photography on the side so they did not take the decision to hire a photographer lightly. Richard came all the way from North Carolina to Burlington, VT to shoot our wedding. People thought we were crazy for not going with a local Vermont photographer, but we couldn’t have been happier with our decision to have Richard as our wedding photographer. Richard allowed for the day to unfold in a genuine and authentic way. He was cool, calm, and collected, navigated pushy family members with ease, and brought a sense of tranquility to a day in which the weather forecasts changed by the second. Despite the fact that the weather forced us to be creative with our timing and shortened our photo sessions unexpectedly, we never once worried about how our day would be captured because we knew Richard was there. He was always there to take the perfect shot but was never imposing. We were so excited to receive some preview photos that Richard sent us the day after our wedding - it allowed us to relive some of the most special moments of our wedding weekend. We feel so confident in Richard that we are writing this review before even seeing the final photographs. We are so genuinely happy that we chose him to capture our wedding weekend and we will definitely plan to work him again to document our future life milestones.

Richard was great to work with and his photographs are amazing! His personable personality made it fun to work with him and easy for him to work with many people in my family. I have absolutely no complaints and wish I could do it all over again!

Richard is the best! He came all the way from North Carolina to Austin, Texas to be apart of our big day. Richard is so relaxed and professional, but assertive and lets you know how to stand and what to do (which is great for non-models like us !). I think my favorite part of working with Richard is how excited he gets when he takes a great shot, it really shows that he loves what he does ! The photos are incredible, beautiful, and really capture all of the special and crazy moments of the whole wedding day! I would hire him over and over again ! I highly recommend him for your wedding and beyond!
