About this vendor
I live in the wonderful city of kirkland with my wife, 3 kids, 2 dogs and 4 chickens. I can't imagine wanting to live anywhere else in the NW.
I have been very lucky that Media such as National Geographic Magazine, CNN, 425 magazine, Seattle magazine, Seattle weekly, Parade and others have used my photos for different stories. Some of my amazing clients have been Microsoft, Seattle Mariners, HTC, The Four Seasons Hotel, Canadian Tourism Board, Davis Wright Tremaine and the Allen Institute in Seattle.
I'm excited to have over 140 Five star reviews on weddingwire and have been named one of the best wedding photographers in Seattle for 5 years running. I'm passionate about doing weddings and love meeting new people along the way. I think that weddings photos should reflect the celebration with colors, emotion and beauty. Every wedding I do is important to me, whether it's a small backyard ceremony or a grand church event. We'll work together to put together your timeline so it allows for some great photos but also for the Bride and Groom to also be present with all of the guests. I want everyone who attends the event to come away with a nice family portrait or simply a new profile picture. I look forward to hearing about your special day!

We were drawn to Rick because of his excellent portfolio and decided to work with him after sitting down for a consult. Rick is an amazing photographer and an even better gentlema...
n to hang out with! You can tell he is excited to create interesting and amazing photos and to work with people. He is a responsive and enthusiastic communicator. We can’t recommend him enough!
I just love Rick Takagi and the photos he took at our wedding! I recommend him to friends, family - anyone who will listen, even if you have to fly him across the country (and I kn...
ow someone who did!)! The photos turned out so spectacular, and I really loved his ideas to take extra "fun" photos at unusual locations... It makes for some really fun stories to explain how I, while wearing my wedding dress, held up a salmon to my new husband, and he held it while I "kissed" it at Pike Place, LOL! I love seeing everyone pics of our wedding, and always rave about how much I loved and was thankful to our photographer for capturing the day perfectly!
Rick was really amazing to work with! He is so passionate about getting great shots and wants you to really love your photos. We do! when I got sick of pictures after a while he ga...
ve me some time to chill but then still got some great candids. During the reception I barely noticed he was there but he still managed some great shots. Highly recommend
Choosing a photographer for an important event is never an easy venture - you really do get what you pay for. It took us a while to compile a list of potential photographers, but o...
nce we were did, there was never any question about who we wanted. We just kept ending back up on Rick's portfolio, over and over again. It was without a doubt one of the best decisions we made in our wedding planning process. From day one, Rick worked with us to customize his packages to fit our actual wedding times, set up phone calls to discuss our vision, and finalize our timeline.
Even though we underestimated the time needed for some of our wedding events, he helped us keep everything on track. He knew our venue well, so he was extremely efficient with getting us to some of the more photogenic spots, and we had a good balance of time to spend eating and socializing while still being pulled aside for more time-sensitive photos (ex. sunset).
Within a day or two of the wedding we'd already received five sneak peeks and they are just so gorgeous - he really captured the Vogue/GQ feel we were hoping for. The photos we've received so far are a perfect mix of dramatic and romantic - we're so incredibly excited to get the full album.
I can't even begin to write just how amazing Rick is! Not only is he an incredibly talented photographer, but he's also a great person and so easy to work with. We referred by frie...
nds who used Rick as their wedding photographer and we were very impressed with their photos. After meeting with Rick in person, we knew he was the perfect choice for our engagement and wedding photographer. We are absolute in LOVE with the photos he took, and we got them back less than a week after our wedding!
