The mansion itself had separate rooms for the bridal party & groomsmen to get ready. We had the ceremony outdoors in the tree covered grove in October and it was perfect weather. The outdoor space was a great backdrop for photos and cocktail hour. The reception was tented for dinner/dancing of 150 guests and had 2 bars set up with an outdoor fire pit. The premise also had a separate ‘barn’ that accommodated our afterparty for late night. We chose this venue because it had space for all of the events without having to travel. As an added bonus, 100% of the venue fee went straight to the Cancer Support Center as a donation. Jen and her team were great! She was very responsive and answered all of our questions, was easy to get along with, and had great suggestions for how to use the site since she's so experienced hosting weddings there. The food was fantastic--including several vegetarian options--and many of our guests commented on how delicious it was. Jen’s team took care of every detail so that we could focus on enjoying time with our guests. We couldn’t have done it without her and highly recommend hiring her for your wedding!

g. Jennifer put so much thought and care into every detail, and her patience with my endless questions was unmatched! We actually booked the venue just four months before the wedding after our original venue fell through. During what could have been a stressful time, Jennifer made everything feel smooth and assured us that we were in great hands.
On the wedding day, the food was nothing short of amazing. Our guests have not stopped raving about the garlic potato puree and the flavorful vegetable curry! The whole experience was seamless, from the beautifully set tables to the friendly, professional staff. e lower garden, the cocktail hour was in/outside the barn, the reception was in a large tent. I really loved the fire pit area adjacent to the tent – it gave people another location to hang out and talk if they didn’t want to dance. The mansion with the bridal suite was gorgeous and homey.
Jenn and the servers were phenomenal. Jenn is one of those people who has everything under control, you don’t have to worry. The servers were so kind and attentive. Many guests commented on how wonderful the service was.
A standout example of the excellence of Ridgeland Mansion/Joshua’s Catering - our officiant was late and Ridgeland seamlessly flipped our cocktail hour and ceremony at the last minute to accommodate. They were so flexible and pulled this off so well. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
The food was outstanding. Joshua’s Catering has many vegan and vegetarian options, and was considerate of guest dietary needs. We did all vegan/vegetarian hors d'oeuvre and everything was delicious.

We just adored Ridgeland Mansion as a wedding venue. We wanted to find a place that accommodated a large number of people, but didn’t want a ballroom. Ridgeland Mansion really fit the bill. Everything was lovely, but at the same time felt simple, not over the top.
Ridgeland also graciously allowed us to bring our dog which was much appreciated!

Jen did a great job keeping us in the loop and helping us plan leading up the the event (especially when we decided to postpone from 2020 to 2021). She killed it the day of and was on top of everything. Joshua’s Catering was amazing! The food choices were all so delicious which made it difficult to make final decisions! Everyone raved about the food, which as big foodies was also very important to us to have quality, local, sustainable food. I would highly recommend this venue.

due to COVID went smoothly. From accommodating a new date to helping organize our vendors, she literally did it all. She answered every question we had prior to the wedding. On the day of the wedding, she coordinated everything perfectly and was extremely attentive. We cannot speak highly enough about Jenn.
The venue is absolutely stunning. The 1700’s house, secret garden for the ceremony, and lawn all made beautiful backgrounds for the wedding and photos. The tent fit all 160+ guests perfectly. Having the ceremony onsite in the garden was incredible; the greenery and pergola made for a beautiful day. The whole catering staff was wonderful and our guests raved about the food. to a constantly changing guest count, they were amazing every step of the way. Jenn Alvarado is incredible, nothing was too big of an ask, and she had it all handled beautifully. The venue itself is gorgeous and such a hidden gem within Fairmount Park. Our guests kept commenting how they didn't even feel like they were in Philadelphia anymore when we were on the grounds. The ceremony space was spectacular and the tent and grounds were more than enough for our large group of 180 guests. The food was excellent and they were willing to work with us to find a menu that worked best. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful with all of our guests. We only have the most positive things to say about the Ridgeland Mansion and the entire Joshua's Catering team, so thank you!

atering staff at the beautiful Ridgeland Mansion. My now-husband and I just got married at Ridgeland yesterday and had the small, intimate ceremony and dinner we always wanted. Jenn Alvarado is really the one who brought it all together. In the hectic and stressful year leading up to the wedding (made more stressful by the virus), Jenn was endlessly kind, generous, and helpful. From holding together big-picture plans to making small gestures like giving my husband and I our own plates during cocktail hour to make sure we got a chance to eat, Jenn really made this day possible. Every single guest commented on how beautiful the venue was, how absolutely incredible all the food was, and how wonderful every single member of the Joshua's team was the entire night. Before our wedding, it seemed like a law of nature that weddings just could not go off without a hitch, but the whole team at the Ridgeland Mansion pulled off the impossible. I'm a laid-back bride generally, but even the most stressed bride or groom would have their mind put at ease at a Ridgeland wedding. If you can't tell, I can't say enough good things about this venue and the people who make it great. What a beautiful day.

SERVICE: Jenn is personable and flexible – besides the beautiful venue – that was the reason why we decided on the venue because we knew she would deliver whatever we needed for our special day (which she did!). 3. FOOD: YUM. We were nervous because we signed the contract without tasting – but when we had our tasting, we knew we made the right choice! Jason was our chef and the food was perfect! One thing we may note is that the accounting was a bit frustrating but Jenn was quick to respond on her team’s behalf.

nd photos. The mansion is beautiful, as are the grounds (which there are a lot of). The one downside is the barn, which is awesome on the outside, is pretty dated on the inside. However we only used it for its bathrooms, so that wasn't a problem. I would definitely recommend!

Our wedding had 90 people, and the site was comfortably sized to accommodate us. We used all three areas during the wedding, and everything flowed nicely.
The staff at Ridgeland are also wonderful. They are very flexible and accommodating. For example, they let us come the day before the wedding to set up some things, and let us take them down the following day. One of the staff members actually stayed the night at the site to protect the sound system that was installed outside. Thank goodness he was there, because there was a thunderstorm the night before, and the sound system would have been ruined had he not been there.
I would highly recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for a simple yet elegant place to have a wedding for under 100 people.
Furthermore, the current tenants of this property, which is owned by Fairmount Park, is the Cancer Support Community of Philadelphia. The facility rental fee, which is very reasonable, goes to this special organization.
