Ring of Music is the legit live band you should seriously consider for your wedding or other major events! We received a very personalized planning call in which expectations were clearly laid out, their rep spent significant time getting to know our interests and music preferences, and we were given the opportunity to select our own song list from a very extensive library. Little tip: they will learn 3 songs at your request, even though they are not in their regular repertoire. Ring of Fire was the star of our wedding; we knew they were first-class, but what we actually got far exceeded expectations. They were veritable live performers, taking well-known standards and improvising their own free solos without fatigue. The party flew by so quickly because everybody was getting so into the music. Truly the best of the best in Chicago’s talented music scene, and worth every penny (actually it seemed cheap when all was said and done)! Your guests will dance the night away!

If you’re considering hiring Ring of Music for your wedding or special occasion, we could not recommend them enough! Matt/ROM was hands down the best vendor we hired for our wedding. His communication was frequent and clear, he was extremely organized, and they absolutely rocked the house the day of the wedding. We’re not into a lot of the typical music played at weddings, and they had so many songs in their repertoire that were unique and still got the crowd going. We’re over 2 months out from our wedding and are still getting comments from guests about how incredible the music was. Hire them - you truly will not regret it!

Ring of Music played at our wedding on August 17 and they were amazing! Choosing to go with them was the best decision for our day! From our first call with Matt, he was extremely professional and organized. He was so easy to work with! We loved that we were able to select the songs that they played that meant the most to us and our families. The dance floor was jam packed all night! My family and fiancé were set on having a live band. I was a bit more skeptical but went along. We had never seen Ring of Music at another wedding but chose them based on our conversation with Matt and their wide range of music options (particularly the Grateful Dead section). I can now admit it was the best decision we made. We had started off with just a 7 piece and upgraded to 11. Truly worth every penny. They had the dance floor packed the whole time even the DJ portions. They truly jammed out and played music for everyone to dance to. We didn’t want just wedding music but music that everyone loved. There was one point where the trumpet and fiddle were having a jam off. We had multiple guests tell us it was the best wedding band they’ve seen. We cannot recommend Ring of Music enough. They played every minute and were great to work with.

Matt and the musicians of Ring of Music are top notch and wonderful to work with! One of my requests of the band was to let me join them on stage and play guitar with them for a few songs- they had no issues with this request, let me pick which songs I wanted to play, and were extremely accommodating with various logistics. The band played every song we wanted them to play and then some (even learning a few new songs just for our wedding)! The set and the band exceeded our expectations! The band sounded great (truly great musicians), the sound was fantastic, and the setlist was perfect! My wife and I never left the dance floor because song after song we wanted to dance and sing along. We had additional horn players and a violin which added an awesome touch to the sound. We continue to receive multiple compliments from our friends and family (old and young guests) about how great the band was! It truly felt like Matt and the band went above and beyond and my wife and I cannot thank Ring of Music enough for making the live music our favorite part of our wedding reception. We wish we could get married again just so we can have Ring of Music play again!

Ring of Music Band & Orchestra was incredible. We had a wedding of about 240 guests and our dance floor was packed the entire dance! The live music was unbelievably perfect, the DJ'ing between sets was great (very seamless from one set to another), and the emceeing during dinner/grand entrance/first dances was super tasteful and professional. They also provided live music for our ceremony (the processional for the wedding party and then for the grooms), pre-ceremony cocktail music, and our post-ceremony cocktail hour. In addition to great music, their communication and planning process was very efficient and super helpful. Our wedding was 4 hours from where we live, 6 hours from the band, and there were ZERO complications, stress, or issues in our planning with the band. Our guests are still talking about the "unbelievable band" and "incredible dance party" from our wedding. We're extremely grateful for our experience and highly recommend Ring of Music!

We hired Ring of Music Band for my daughters wedding in Door County, Sister Bay at the Northern Haus. They were perfection!! From the minute we signed them on they were so easy to work with. We had 10 pieces playing and a guitar player that played during cocktail hour. Let me tell you, the dance floor was packed for every dance from beginning to end! One song played, then the next and you just had to keep dancing! One special moment was when they played "Sweet Caroline", our granddaughter was a flower girl and she was in the hospital for 2 weeks with pneumonia and we weren't sure if she or my son, daughter in law and other granddaughter would even make the wedding. Well, thankfully, they did and when the song "Sweet Caroline" was played, her name is Caroline, everyone came out to dance, with tears in some eyes. A very special moment indeed! People had said it was the best band ever! Best decision ever! Thank you Ring of Music!!

Let me start by saying – book them now! Ring of Music is absolutely phenomenal! They are incredibly talented, professional, and kind. Matt took the time to talk with us multiple times before the wedding to ensure that the music would be perfect – and it was! They even learned our first dance song, and it was better than the original. My family was blown away by the musicians, which is saying a lot, because some of them are professional musicians themselves. We even started applauding at times throughout the evening, because they are so talented! Andrea and Bree have gorgeous vocals and all the instrumentalists are superb! I work in the wedding entertainment industry, so naturally I've got a slightly different perspective than your standard client. I can not say enough good things about Matt and the Ring of Music team. From top to bottom, our wedding was exactly what we pictured, largely due to their comprehensive planning and consultation services prior to our big day. The dance floor was packed from start to finish, and we've had no less than 100 people tell us that it was the best wedding entertainment they've ever seen. You only get married once. Spend the money. Ring of Music is worth every penny. I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

Ring of Music IS AMAZING! Right from the first contact when we were supposed to have a 30 minute meeting that went well over an hour with all our questions, we felt confident ROM would help us create the atmosphere for our wedding that we wanted. We had no idea what we were getting into when we started planning our wedding. ROM's support staff asked questions we didn't even know needed answered and helped us create the event we wanted. They provided music for cocktail hour, the ceremony and of course the ROCKING RECEPTION! There was never a time when the dance floor was empty. Our "first dance" song was not on their list, but they learned it and we loved the way they performed it. We were nervous about whether to have it played live, and having it live was definitely the right choice! This is a group of very talented musicians and performers. EVERYONE at our wedding said how great they were and one guest is even looking at hiring them for an anniversary party! We had everyone out dancing (which was my goal) from the little kids to the uncle who never leaves his house! Even my mother-in-law who "doesn't dance" was on the dance floor. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND Ring of Music. It may seem like a splurge, but they are worth it!

This was by far the BEST band/orchestra I've ever seen. They were prompt, very professional, VERY fun, and they even stayed longer for us! No one wanted to leave because of how good they played! They made wonderful music suggestions and could really read the audience. I would recommend them to anyone! They did not disappoint not one bit!

Matt and his team were so incredibly helpful and thorough throughout the process of planning our wedding. Even from the very first consultation call with Matt, before we even booked Ring of Music, Matt was offering advice on booking music for our wedding. Throughout the process we always felt that Matt and his team really cared about the performance that they would put on and wanted us and our guests to have a great time, probably almost as much as we did. After we booked Ring of Music they were prompt to send us an extensive catalog of songs to choose from for both DJing and the Live band. All communication with Matt and his team was prompt and very helpful. They are the epitome of professional. Now, to get to the wedding day... We had a guitarist and violinist perform for our ceremony, and while weddings are always emotional events, the music they played and the quality of the sound undoubtedly elevated that emotion in the best way. We had a woman singer/guitarist during our cocktail hour and she was phenomenal. Her voice was incredible and was drawing people from the warmth inside the building to the colder outdoors just to listen to her. The reception, was off the charts. When you choose to book Ring of Music for your event you will see that their music catalog is diverse and they play it all expertly. We had chosen classic wedding songs from the 60s as well as pop/electronic music from the 2010s and everything in between, it all sounded incredible. The dance floor was never empty, and the comment we heard from just about everyone was how much fun they had with the band. If I had the opportunity to see Ring of Music live again, I would jump at it. Do yourself a favor and book Ring of Music for your event. Listen to Matt and his team, they will offer you advice that is truly in your best interest to make your event fun and memorable. Have tons of fun at the event and feel the warmth of hearing your guests tell you how much they enjoyed themselves because you made a great decision.

Planning was extremely accomodating and painless. The RoM crew on the day of the event was prompt in their arrival and provided a service that exceeded all expectations. I have never, ever written a review before, but Ring Of Music Band & Orchestra deserve to be recognized. If more than 5 stars could be given, they would received the highest rating. My fiance initially saw the band at another wedding 6-7 years ago and they made quite the impression. When we began our wedding prep process, he knew he wanted Ring of Music Band & Orchestra. From the beginning to the end, they were phenomenal. From the first phone call, they were incredibly professional, straightforward, and organized. During the music selection process, once again everything was organized and simple. The music selection is vast and there are various genres to choose from. Approval was a big component of their process. We loved that they only play what we approved, which meant we listened to all the songs we loved. When it came to wedding day, we were blown away. They made the whole reception so flow. Transitions were easy with introductions, cake cutting, speeches and right into dancing. They showcased their talent and had everyone on the dance floor the entire night! It would not have been the same wedding without Ring of Music! We got so many compliments on how great they were before the wedding was even over and the compliments continued days after the wedding! To quote some of our guests, "If people are not having fun, especially with this band, they are choosing to have a bad time!" If you want a fun, memorable wedding with amazing music, Ring of Music is for you!

I personally guarantee you that this is the best group you can possibly hire to be your wedding band. This group is the best there is. I'll break up my review (which you should read closely if you're considering Ring of Music for your wedding band) into two parts: 1) the band/music/sound itself and 2) everything else. 1) There's a certain minimum band quality threshold after which you can choose between several really good options and know that you're going to get a great-sounding band. Of course ROM is way above that threshold...the baseline point I want to make is that they were the best-sounding, highest energy band I've ever seen at a wedding, and that was consistently what friends and family kept saying throughout the night. In my first phone conversation with the owner of ROM, Matt Stedman, I subconsciously brushed off his guarantee that the dance floor would be packed the whole night. Well, after reading the monotonously repetitive online reviews saying "we've never seen such a packed dance floor at a wedding!!!" I am reluctant to say it but I can't resist. I've truly never seen a wedding dance floor look or be that fun the entire time. At one point during the reception, the violinist/fiddler (yes, that's an option, and I highly recommend choosing it) and the guitarist were soloing back and forth during a song and probably 30 people (including my bride and I) stopped dancing and just stared at the band in a state of "wow they're that good." Yep, they really are "that good." 2) Regarding everything else, I can honestly say that if you knocked down the sound quality of the band a few notches, knowing what I know after working with them, I would still pick ROM again because of how great they were to work with. If you choose ROM as your band, you'll spend a lot of time on the phone with the owner, Matt Stedman. Matt is simply elite. He's an expert at his craft, and you will be blown away by how much he genuinely wants you and your loved ones to have the best experience possible at your wedding. Another thing worth noting: the song list. You may find with wedding bands that you'll get to choose around 10 "must plays" but that, other than that, you're forced to trust the "expertise" of the band to read the room and play the perfect songs to keep the dance floor fun. Of course you hate that design...you should. ROM's design is perfect. You open up a massive well-organized spreadsheet with every song you can think of. You pick 12 "must plays." Then you pick at least 50 (but as many as possible) songs from which the band will curate their setlist. This way, no song will be played that you as the bride & groom didn't choose, guaranteeing that you won't hear a single song you don't like. Okay, one more main reason why you should choose ROM. AT NO EXTRA COST, you can choose for ROM to be your day-of coordinator. Yes, you read that right. If you simply select the box, ROM will coordinate with all of your vendors weeks in advance and literally be your entire day-of coordinator to ensure that everything with the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception runs smoothly. It was extremely helpful. Alright, if you're still reading, book with ROM. I was on the fence with a few really high quality bands and I am so glad that we went with ROM. Notice how many 5-star reviews they have compared to the other bands you're looking at...yes, they're that good. I'm proud to join the chorus of insanely high-praising reviews for ROM.

When we planned our wedding, the band was one of our top priorities. And, let me tell you… Ring of Music was worth every penny and more. Not only were the musicians and vocalists phenomenal, but the pacing and song list was top notch. Even during the planning process, Matt Stedman was an incredible guide, ensuring our song list was perfect and that everything was organized to fit our vision. Another selling point with Ring of Music was the fact that we could coordinate other areas of music for the wedding day, such as the ceremony and cocktail hour. They made it so easy! If you like good music and dancing, then Ring of Music is a must for your wedding!

Ring of Music did a fabulous job at our wedding. We cannot recommend them highly enough. They've done other family weddings and will continue to do so in the future. Matt is very helpful and responsive. When we needed to postpone our wedding he was incredibly flexible and we had no issues. He really got to understand us as a couple to make sure that he would give us what we wanted. Our ceremony was outside but none of the guests had an issue hearing anything. The music cues were perfect. The reception was a blast. The dance floor was packed the entire night, so much so that people were often dancing to the side since it was so crowded. The band also did a great job emceeing and making sure things moved smoothly. Many guests came up to us and told us it was the best wedding music they had ever experienced; one couple called their babysitter to stay out longer since the band kept playing songs they wanted to dance to.

I cannot say enough good things about Ring of Music. Working with them (through Covid) was seamless; they were able to accommodate our year postponement no questions asked. When it came time to choose songs, they had a clear process and helpful follow-up call to review everything. Most importantly, they were incredible day-of. From the emceeing, to keeping everyone on the dance floor all night (I mean ALL night even though the DJ sessions), we could not have imagined a better wedding band.

For my wedding we did a nine piece band and it was AMAZING. ROM was great to work with the entire time, and offered a wide range of music to choose from. We gave them a list of our top songs but pretty much left it up to them, they are the experts after all, and we are SO glad we did. The dance floor was full all night and all of our guested loved it, even our bar tenders made comments on how special it was and how great the music was. Even the DJ music was on point. Also, ROM had great ideas to help us plan, giving us tip and trips to making the evening successful to other ideas we never thought of. One of my favorite memories from the night was the last song of the evening was the original version of our first dance song (we did a cover for the first dance), As me and my new husband danced to our song and reflected on the day knowing it was our last dance was really special. I was crying my eyes out as we slow danced to end the night. This idea was ROM's and truly added another special moment that I will never forget. I cannot recommend ROM enough to anyone looking for a band. The team is amazing to work with and made the night so special.

Ring of Music was phenomenal!!! I was very nervous before booking a band as we wanted the band to play the music we really liked and to get everyone at our wedding on the dance floor. They were GREAT - I had so many guests come up to me asking where I found the band. The band also threw in extra band members and a guitarist for my cocktail hour for no extra charge. They were great to work with - very detail oriented in terms of nailing down a feasible timeline for the night, emceeing to make sure everything went smoothly, listening to what type of music we wanted, and performing great music that everyone wanted to dance to.
