g of events that take place during the reception and would give great input, but ultimately let us decide how we wanted to use our time to celebrate. He also played a lot of songs friends/family requested, as well as joined them on the dance floor for line dancing ! If you’re looking for someone who’s fun and energetic— look no further, Rios Mios is the DJ for you ! 

kept the energy up even when there were only a few of us left at the end of the night! not a second went by where we werent met with amazing music! the ceremony was absolutely wonderful too!! (: 

ft relaxing music as the guests arrived and enjoying happy hour. Then, he did a wonderful job introducing the bridal party.  He spoke clearly and pronounced everyone’s name correctly…. not an easy task! Before dinner, Derek dismissed tables to eat and interacted with the guests….discussing music genres and making everyone feel welcome. After dinner, he guided the speeches and toasts, which allowed the bridal party to share personal stories. After the speeches, Derek flawlessly moved into first dances….which were not too long and not too short. Just right! To begin the dance Derek smoothly invited all of guests to the dance floor by inviting all married couples to join in with the bride and groom.  It was a wonderful to see so many couples, all ages dancing. Of course, as the night went on, there was lots of dancing.   Derek’s choice of music appealed to all ages.  I have never seen so much dancing and joy! Here are a few comments I received from guests….. Where did you find the DJ?  He is incredible. We are from St. Louis and we have never seen such professionalism.  I loved how the DJ would interact with the crowd. The volume was just right…we were able to stay and visit while the young people danced.  Usually we leave because it’s too loud. I wish I would have hired Derek for my Wedding reception! Five Plus STARS for Derek Rios! He made our wedding reception AMAZING!

s strange with the way it all transpired, especially considering the rave reviews. disappointed for sure. 

. It was perfectly imperfect. But reception wise it was everyone dancing and having a great time and running around and the end of the night where people were wanting to stay!!

preciated by me, the bride, as well as my groom, bridal party, and guests. He was able to pump up the party and keep the attention of the room as if it was his job (lol). People were constantly complimenting him to me and saying they wished he had been around when they got married. Communication leading up to the day was easy and seamless. He talks to you like he’s known you for years and answers any questions you have as soon as you need them answered. He did send us a questionnaire about the music vibes we were looking for, but as he said, he “has the general Midwest wedding music vibes down to a T,” and he was absolutely correct. Our reception, when it came down to it, was genuinely fun.  I also wouldn’t limit Derek to just Midwest weddings either. He seems extremely adaptable and would thrive in a multitude of situations thrown at him. I had a couple of very specific tempo and volume change requests to songs during our ceremony that he was able to accommodate seamlessly.  I’ve attended and been a part of a lot of professional music and large-scale events, and I was very impressed with both his sound equipment and his performance. It was a very windy day during our ceremony, and the microphone audio still came through clear despite the large gusts fighting against us.  I would absolutely recommend Derek and his team for any wedding or large event you’re hosting. You won’t regret it. P.S. Get the extra lighting they offer and skip the Styrofoam glow stick trend. It was a fun addition.

His energy matched us so well and he knew exactly what we were looking for throughout the night. Especially when I told him I wanted the dance floor to be like a college rave. He immediately said “I got you” with a huge smile and beyond delivered!

like, and Quinn created the perfect night between ceremony, to cocktail hour to reception. He kept checking in with us throughout the night to make sure everything was on track and exactly as we envisioned. 

big day, he brought incredible energy and truly helped set the tone for the entire night. He knew exactly how to read the room and kept the dance floor busy. He also did an amazing job as our emcee, keeping everything flowing smoothly and making sure guests knew what was happening without it ever feeling forced. Everything felt seamless, and we were able to just enjoy the moment. Overall, 10/10 service—we’d absolutely recommend him to anyone looking to make their event unforgettable.
