Derik was such a pleasure to work with! My fiancé chose him because from the first conversation Derik was professional and easy to communicate with. Derik asked that we do a conference call so he could make sure we both felt he was a good fit for us and to get a feel of what we wanted and needed for our big day. He put together a great package for us, while more expensive than others, we felt this is definitely a "you get what you pay for" situation. As we got closer to our wedding Derik met with us so he could get to know us a little better and really get a feel for what our music tastes are and what we wanted for our wedding. He captured it perfectly! We had a little mix up with some last minute changes but it all worked out as it was supposed to. You cant go wrong with using Riptide Entertainment on your big day!

DJ Derik is amazing! Johnny and I had an absolute blast at our wedding. He read the crowd so well and had the best choice of music. It was such a fun night. Derik is kind, thoughtful, professional, and a great DJ. Thank you for making this night so special for us!!!

Derik was great at keeping us on schedule and was flexible during Covid and rescheduling. He also had a song ready to go for an impromptu garter toss (my husband just needed some liquid courage). Anyways, he was great! Super casual to talk to and overall did a great job. People had so much fun and danced the whole night

DJ Derik of Riptide Entertainment was phenomenal! He had plenty of equipment for the ceremony site, the reception dinner, and dancing! He is so skilled at the music - it was PERFECT during the ceremony! My guests had so much fun dancing all night. Not only is he a great DJ, but over all he is an awesome person. I feel I have known him for years and that we will continue be friends! Thank you for everything!!

Amazing!! From the first meeting we knew we were in good hands! Derik is responsive and open to any requests or suggestions. You feel like you are with a friend, not just a vendor. Derik kept the party going all night without being obnoxious or overbearing like some djs I’ve seen. Our daughter’s wedding was a huge success and Derik was a big part of it! Choosing good vendors is so hard since you don’t know them. As soon as you meet DJ Derek you instantly get that feel good ready to book feeling. DJ Derek totally made the whole experience amazing! Highly recommend booking this guy! He definitely can get the party going, and knows how to work the crowd like no other DJ!

There is a lot to be said about the dynamic duo that is Derik and Rebecca of Riptide Entertainment, which is partly why it’s taken me so long to write our review for them… I don’t even know where to start. When we first met Derik and Rebecca, it felt like we had known them for ages, they were very friendly, kind, humble, resourceful, and simply put: amazing. I am sure everyone knows how important first impressions are, and we knew instantly that these two were the ones for us. Throughout the process of planning our wedding, my husband and I had been compiling a list of songs that we wanted to play, and of course we needed a few recommendations for some events. Derik went out of his way to help us by emailing us song after song to try to make our overwhelming selection process that much easier. Besides the amazing help we received in the planning aspect of our wedding music, Derik and Rebecca took time out of their busy lives to shoot us a text or give us a call and make sure we were doing ok or if we needed anything…. WHO DOES THAT?! These two! Derik delivered a top notch service for our wedding, and I can honestly say that if we had gone with anyone else, I don’t believe it would have been as fantastic of a time as it was. There wasn’t a moment I looked at the dance floor and didn’t see people on it enjoying themselves. I cannot thank Riptide Entertainment for all they did for my husband and I…. Derik and Rebecca, I hope you both know how truly amazing you are and how thankful Taylor and I were that you were our DJ for our wedding. Your professionalism and your down-to-earth attitudes, on top of your good time vibes made for one hell of a day! THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts!

I have to start by explaining that my new wife and I are not super easy to work with sometimes. Between my procrastination and her trying to plan the wedding she has always dreamed of, we were hard to get a hold of sometimes. DJ Derik and his awesome wife Rebecca were so patient with us and were never pushy, even when we took forever to get any sort of information to them. They constantly reminded us that they are here for us and can help with anything we need. On our wedding day, we arrived at the reception venue and were greeted by Derik. He calmly and confidently walked us through a basic outline of the next few hours. He made it easy for us to relax and be able to soak in the entire experience. Throughout the evening, both Derik and Rebecca periodically checked in with us to make sure we were okay and see if we need anything. They were genuinely committed to making this a night no one would forget. I can be easily annoyed by certain personalities, particularly people that are obviously trying WAY too hard to be funny or appear a certain way. Derik's personality with the mic was spot on. He had a perfect balance of keeping it emotional, but also keeping it light with some light comedy. He wasn't over-the-top with his personality, didn't try to "steal" the show, and certainly wasn't annoying. He fed off the entire crowd the entire night, and was just perfect. I was told that a good or bad DJ will make or break your wedding. We are BEYOND thrilled that we went with DJ Derik. From the initial quote to the end of our wedding night, he was there for us and made sure we were set up to succeed. I will never use another DJ service for any sort of event in the future, and will absolutely be recommending him to everyone looking for a DJ. Thanks Derik and Rebecca! Kody & Shannon Thomas

Thank you Derik and Rebecca!! Derik was awesome!! I received so many compliments on Derik from my guests. He interacted well with my bridal party, parents, etc. Derik saw how sarcastic and how much my family and friends would joke and he played into and made everyone laugh. He tried to pull off an amazing surprise, since we are huge Giants fans, but the Giants organization failed to respond to him. The fact that Derik made this attempt was so sweet, awesome and thoughtful!! Rebecca was available for EVERY single question I had throughout the entire planning process. They LOVE what they do and I loved that. They don't do this as a full-time job but they do this because the actually enjoy it, which makes them the best at it. I highly recommend this dynamic duo (and couple)!! The ONLY downfall is that Derik is a Dallas Cowboys fan..but he did so well that I can look past it. ;) Thank you Derik and Rebecca and GO GIANTS!!

From the first time we met with DJ Derik on Skype, we knew were in good hands for our wedding. Derik and his wife, Rebecca worked with our budget to meet all of our requests including outdoor market lights that came with a much lower price tag than most companies offer. We also loved that Derik didn’t try to sell us on a bunch of services or tell us our budget wasn’t reasonable (yes, other DJs said that to us!). Rebecca and Derik responded quickly via email but it was great to sit down in-person a month before the wedding to go over the timeline and songs – he perfectly balanced listening to our requests and sharing his expertise. Derik kept our big day moving from the ceremony to the reception including a special request for the first dance song with my dad (even though my request came just a week before the wedding!). He kept the photographer in the loop so she knew when important things were happening. He was NOT cheesy whatsoever, and only spoke on the mic when it was absolutely necessary. He kept the party going! Thanks Derik and Rebecca!

They are awesome! Cannot recommend them enough! They are professional but also extremely helpful and really care about you as a couple! The music was awesome, everyone was out there on the dance floor!

Where do I even begin for Riptide Entertainment... Derik and Rebecca are absolute the BEST in what they do. I interviewed 3 different DJs and I knew by the time Derik said Hi that I wanted him to be our DJ. I felt an immediate connection with him and in the end of the interview he became my friend. Derik handles all music and timeline related details while his wife Rebecca handles everything else. They respond to communication extremely quickly even when they were on vacation and I told them to not to bother emailing me back until after their vacation - they told me I was silly and still responded. It was important to me that we had a unplugged ceremony, Derik ensured me that he would make an announcement and promised that Rebecca would ask people nicely to put their phones away (if she saw them during the ceremony). Everyone at the wedding LOVED Derik - his personality is stellar, he played music that was fitting for all generations, had great ideas and he even went above and beyond as a DJ. There was a loose dog at the venue that he helped get and even served my husband and I drinks at dinner. If you are on the fence about the perfect DJ - don't be... Derik is the perfect choice!

Derik and Rebecca are awesome! From day one, communication with them was extremely easy and comfortable. They respond to e-mails, phone calls, and texts very promptly! We even presented them with a new situation in which we needed microphones during our ceremony on a golf course and there was no power source. Derik solved the problem, got us a small quiet generator, and had everything under control every step of the way. On the day of our wedding, everything went very smoothly! Derik is great at keeping everything on schedule, announcing things such as the bridal party entering or when it was time to cut the cake, and he plays great music too! We wanted lots of "oldies" and music that would please everyone across generations, and he delivered! We had lots of people out on the dance floor. Derik and Rebecca add a personal touch that you wouldn't expect to get from your DJ. When I first saw them on my wedding day, they both greeted me with hugs and hellos. When they left the room, one of the bridesmaids asked who they were and thought they were family. She was shocked to learn that it was our entertainment company! They go above and beyond and there are no more words to describe how great they are!
