When my husband and I were looking for a wedding photographer I knew I wanted to have someone I trusted, and was comfortable with, because the photographer is with you essentially all day on your wedding day. Upon meeting with Kyle and Melissa they immediately felt like family, and were so familiar with the wedding process/industry (that I felt so lost in), I knew I wouldn't want to go through the process without them, regardless of the cost. Whenever Matt and I met with Kyle and Melissa, virtually or in person, we could relax because those two took care of everything from helping us figure out who to take pictures with, to creating a timeline of our wedding day. There's a twist to my wedding story; about halfway through the engagement my husband and I decided the big wedding we planned wasn't really what we wanted, so we changed everything to do a smaller wedding, which meant changing the date. I knew this twist might mean I lose my amazing photographer who took my breath away with our engagements pictures, but nope, I didn't have to worry about that either. Kyle and Melissa canceled a vacation they planned to stay and help Matt and I on our special day. Boy did they help! They got all guests where they needed to be and reminded me to breathe when I was getting overwhelmed. Melissa brought me wine as the day got busy, she was like a sister to me on my wedding day. You will want Kyle and Melissa with you on your wedding day, they have been through the whole wedding planning process with you; when you work with Kyle and Melissa you get so much more than the most talented wedding photographers, you get additional family.

Kyle and Melissa were absolutely amazing to work with. They made the entire process very easy and put us at ease when taking our engagement and wedding photos. Whenever we had questions or worries they were there to make sure everything went right. We received so many compliments from our guests at our wedding regarding the awesome guestbook containing our engagement pictures & the slide show they put together at our reception of our wedding pictures taken earlier in the day. Our guests thought it was so cool that they had the pictures up there in such a short amount of time and they were so impressed with their work. They went above and beyond to set up our engagement session at Kauffman stadium. They have given us amazing pictures that we will treasure forever. They are two insanely talented people that are so kind and amazing to work with. We highly recommend them!

Being a business owner that is a perfectionist who works in digital marketing, I had very high expectations of who my wife and I would hire for our wedding photographers. They needed to be responsive, organized, creative and take a lot of pride in the material they produce. Let me just say, we found the perfect photographers. Working with Rivas exceeded all of my expectations and then some! They had an artistic view when capturing our wedding, making our photos unique and like none other than I had ever seen. Both Kyle and Melissa were amazing. They quickly became more than our photographers, and felt more like life long friends who were helping us on our wedding day. If you're wanting to have the absolute best pictures you could have ever imagined for your special day then I would HIGHLY suggest these guys! They are by far, the BEST photographers in the Kansas City area. Kyle and Melissa go above and beyond to make sure the memories you make are shown through their work. They strive to make sure the finished product turns out way better than you originally planned and make sure you don't have a single ounce of stress in your body throughout the ENTIRE process of working with them. They finished our group photos, asked my husband and I to stay back for some "bride and groom" pictures but told us to take some time alone to simply relax and not worry about anything but us. My wedding album is so easy to follow, that you could see the memories happening through still photos. Rivas Photography was by far, without question, the best part of our engagement and wedding. There aren't words to describe how unforgettable our entire experience was with Rivas Photography. My wife and I had a wonderful experience going from our initial meeting to the big day! Kyle & Melissa are incredibly attentive and focused on what's important - capturing the candid photo. They asked a number of questions about our preferences and were very visible throughout the day without being overbearing. Some of our biggest concerns were around Family photos & weather (who doesn't worry about this on their big day?). But fortunately both weather and Family prevailed and we caught some amazing photos. We never had a concern about professionalism or punctuality with this team. We could count on them to direct us to the best locations, angles, etc. One of our most memorable photos / moments was a spur-of-the-moment idea from Kyle immediately following our vows. He caught a great shot of us leaning against a classic car as the storm rolled in. We highly recommend this team - photos help re-create the special day & our album brings it to life whenever we walk our friends and family through it.

When starting the process of wedding planning, my mother told me that finding our Wedding Photographer would be the most important decision that we would make. The photos that would be captured on our wedding day would be cherished for the rest of your lives, and be something we would hand down to our children. She explained to me that it was important to find a photographer that I felt comfortable with and who would take pride in their work. Choosing Rivas Photography, was the best decision that we could have made. Kyle and Melissa were organized, professional, attentive and captured the most breathtaking photos that will be cherished for the rest of our lives. Not only that, but we felt as if we had known them for years. They made us feel comfortable and confident at each location on our wedding day. One of my favorite memories of working with Rivas, was when we were dodging a big rain storm. They had a plan, multiple locations, and we were able to get every shot that we wanted prior to the rain. Something that could have been very stressful, was dealt with humor and confidence. I never had a doubt in mind that we wouldn’t be able to capture great photos on our special day. After being in other weddings and seeing other photographers work, my husband and I are constantly reminded with how blessed we were to have found Rivas. Kyle and Melissa were absolutely amazing! We initially found them at a Bridal Fair in Kansas City, where we planned to have them shoot our wedding. We ended up changing our wedding venue from a farm in Kansas to a vineyard in California. Not only did they roll with the change, but also flew out to take our engagement photos at no additional cost to us! They are such a sweet couple and immediately made us feel at ease. Any questions or concerns we had, they addressed quickly. They did their research on our venue since it was across the country from them and even toured it in person twice before our big day. Our wedding photos turned out amazing and our guests keep commenting on how great and fun our photographers were! We were also so impressed with the same day slideshow they prepared during the reception! It was amazing to see photos from earlier in the day captured so beautifully! 100% recommend Rivas Photography!

We stumbled across Kyle and Melissa at a winter bridal fair - the colors in their photography were so vibrant and drew us in from across the room! I gravitated toward their display and spoke with Melissa, and I'm so glad I did! You can tell that both she and Kyle have such a passion for their work, and it shows through both their interactions with their clients and the beautiful art they create. They were so enthusiastic about our ideas and traveled with us to Sedona, Arizona where we were dying to get our engagement photos taken, and the photos turned out more beautifully than any others I had seen shot there. They also played fabulous tour guides as we embarked on an incredibly crazy off-roading experience to get to the photo location they had scoped out previously! Kyle and Melissa even had the idea to hit another beautiful spot (Horseshoe Bend near Page, AZ) where some of our favorite photos were created. They made us feel totally at ease during all aspects of our journey together – from the preparation to the shoot, and finally to the reveal day. They also have wonderfully quality professional product to choose from, so you know the products you choose to place in your home will last. All in all, they are what I would consider Good People. So inviting, cheerful, and wonderful to be around, in addition to the unparalleled images they produce. We will be using them for every photo shoot we can think of in the future as we have learned that they are worth every penny!

My fiancé and I cannot say enough wonderful things about these people. If you want incredible photographers, you need to pick these people. But if you want to work with amazing human beings? Then you MUST pick these people. They are fantastic. Every part of our day was better because they were involved in it. At no point in the day did we get tired of hanging out with them- which is important because your photographers are with you literally all day. They captured the most beautiful moments, some of which were not at all staged. And their work is INSANE. We just recently received our pictures back and our minds are blown. We’ve received SO many compliments on them. I really can’t say enough about these two and we are just so, so happy that we picked such an amazing duo to capture our day.

Where can I start? We had the opportunity to meet Kyle and Melissa 5 years before our wedding, they were my sister's wedding photographers. During the reception dinner, when I imagine most photographers would take a break, Kyle was off editing a slideshow of photos from the day so far to play before our first dance. It was beautiful and we received many compliments about it from our friends and family. Most importantly, Kyle and Melissa made us feel comfortable and natural in front of the camera. They knew how to make us laugh and get us to relax. They were very helpful in the planning process and built a suggested schedule for the day. They had extra umbrellas and water bottles for us during the shoots. Kyle focused on taking the formal or “scripted” shots, and while that was going on Melissa was sneaking in candid shots. We are going to cherish these photos forever.

I'm so thankful that we had Kyle and Melissa photograph our wedding!! We met them at a KC Bridal Spectacular show and were blown away by their stunning work. We won a free engagement photo session as a raffle prize. During our engagement session, Kyle and Melissa were so kind, professional, and a joy to be around! We loved getting to know them during the session, and appreciated how comfortable they made us feel behind the camera. Immediately after the session ended, we asked them to photograph our wedding. We didn't feel like "just another customer" to Kyle and Melissa; they took the time to get to know us, and tailored the photographs to match our style! They were invaluable during the wedding-planning process; Kyle and Melissa were able to make vendor recommendations, help with the schedule for the "day of", and give us advice for all of the "little things" that pop up! Their expertise and experience took a lot of stress off of us. I love how prepared they were for the wedding day! Kyle and Melissa had scouted extra locations for photographs ahead of time, which was GREAT because it ended up raining during our first look! Our wedding day was perfect, and Kyle and Melissa played a huge role in making the day go so smoothly. Our photographs were phenomenal, we had a really hard time narrowing down our favorites! We really appreciated how they were able to customize their wedding packages to fit what we envisioned having in our home. We had so much fun working with Kyle and Melissa!!

We found Rivas Photography through our wedding coordinator at Children's Mercy Park. They were one of very few photographers who had shot weddings/receptions at the stadium and, after meeting them at the Bridal Spectacular wedding show, we knew we had found THE BEST photographers. Kyle and Melissa took special care with us to plan an out of this world engagement session, including the Sporting KC mural downtown between locations. When family health became an issue, Kyle and Melissa took it to heart as friends and as professionals. They offered to reschedule our engagement session, but we chose to push on, taking it as a mental health day to relax. Not only was it a perfect autumn day, but the sunset (and Kyle and Melissa's incredible artistic skills) created the most beautiful images. As the family health issues grew more pressing, we moved our wedding day up several months. As a money-conscious bride, photography was one of my biggest splurges and I knew that we HAD to have Kyle and Melissa there. They took the time to ensure we had all of the family portraits done that we wanted, as those were the most important to us. And they still made us feel like a king and queen at our intimate ceremony and dinner with our families. (Plus we are THRILLED that they will also be shooting our vow renewal and reception in a few short weeks!) Kyle and Melissa have quickly become two of our favorite people for so many reasons. Their work is stunning, they go above and beyond the call of duty as photographers, and they make sure your big day is the best day ever and that it will be remembered through their art for generations to come.

g, Kyle came and grabbed us and said we had to go outside because the clouds had cleared and we had a breath taking sunset. He could have not taken us back outside, or missed it... but he didn't. We were left with over 600 breathtaking, stunning, gorgeous, perfect still shot memories. We received our wedding pictures last night and to be honest it's a little sad. It's sad that our business is done. Over the last year and a half to 2 years I feel like we've become friends because they care so much for their clients. This company will go above and beyond your expectations. Their quality work, determination to make sure you're happy, attention to detail and general fun vibe you get with them makes it a no brainer. They're the best photographers I've worked with. I cannot say enough good things about Rivas, they're worth every single penny that we paid. I'd give y'all a million stars if I could. Kyle and Melissa are hands down the best photographers in Kansas City. We felt their work stood out from many other photographers and boy were we right?! Both of them were very professional but also treated us with love and respect while laying out their vision for our big day. It was a relieving feeling knowing you could trust your photographer, but that was an understatement when it came to Kyle and Melissa. They took a lot of stress off of me and my husband because they were very transparent with their communication and also made a timeline for our wedding day from start to finish. They also reminded us that they made a backup Plan A, B, C, and D incase of weather, wardrobe issues, or scouting issues if something potentially needed to change. One thing many of our guests continued to say throughout the wedding reception and weeks after our wedding was how hard they saw Kyle and Melissa work. They work seamlessly with each other and will work seamlessly for you. Bottom line, you do not want someone to just take pictures for your wedding. Kyle and Melissa will capture all of the memories on the biggest day of your life!

My experience with Rivas Photography was fantastic. I have nothing poor to say about Kyle and Melissa. They are skilled and unbelievably talented; their ideas and guidance during our engagement session created a fun and stress free environment that resulted in BEAUTIFUL photos. They were responsive in answering questions leading up to the event and were always willing to make my happiness a priority. On our wedding day, they captured everything perfectly and gave me a sense of peace that allowed me to relax and enjoy rather than stress. Kyle and Melissa are the perfect pair. My husband and I are really awkward when it comes to photos, but both Kyle and Melissa are so easy going and great with instructions. Our photos turned out beautifully. They were even willing to photograph our dogs for our engagement photos and come to Disney for our wedding! We are so glad we met them and couldn't imagine why anyone would choose anyone else.

Wow I can' t say enough about Kyle & Melissa. We met with several photographers when we were trying to decide and no one else was as professional but also made us feel as comfortable from the beginning as they did. Their photos were not just beautiful but they are really smart and good at finding a different angle for your photos so they look different from other photographers. For our engagements photos they were willing to travel to my home town which was a couple of hours away. This meant the world to me since I wasn't actually getting married there. The day of the wedding they kept everything flowing perfectly and even knew when I was getting a little too hot, tired and needed a break. Would highly recommend them !

Melissa and Kyle were absolutely terrific! From the beginning stages of the process though the big day, they made everything easy and so much fun! We had several planning meetings and they helped us craft a timeline for the day with lots of extra time built in so we weren't rushed at all. They gave us lots of great ideas (like for the men to go for a morning shave and to do a first look so we could actually enjoy the cocktail hour with our large family)! Throughout the day, Kyle, Melissa, and Anthony made what could have been a very hectic and stressful day, relaxing and fun! It was like we were hanging out with friends. The slideshow at the wedding was a HUGE hit and everyone loved getting to see the great shots they had captured earlier in the day! One of the things that drew us to Rivas Photography initially is the artistic aspect of their photos. Not only will we have shots from the day that include all of our special people, we have beautiful art that will be passed down to future generations. Kyle has a real eye for capturing really unique and stunning photos. Anyone can take a photo, but Rivas Photography captures and produces world-class art. This was the easiest wedding decision we made! We couldn't be happier!

Kyle and Melissa from Rivas Media Photography are so sweet, friendly and passionate about photography. We got a ton of compliments not only on how awesome our photos turned out, but also on how patient, nice and caring the photographers were. Since we spent most of the wedding day with them, it was really important to find a photographer we would want to be around for the most important moments of our day and who could help ease some of the nerves. They were so easy going and constantly positive with how things were going. We got unlucky with bad weather for our first engagement photo session, but they totally listened to what kind of photos we wanted and worked with us to take a few despite the bad weather and then reschedule for another session. They had awesome ideas on where to take photos and also listened to where we wanted photos taken. With their three shooters on the wedding day, they truly captured every moment of the day. They even put together a slide show on the day of the wedding to show pictures from throughout our wedding day at the reception. This was a unique touch that wowed our guests even more. I would highly recommend them.

They began the day photographing every detail of her wedding day, followed by the ceremony and reception. They were so attentive, but never intrusive. Working with Kyle was about as easy as it could have been. He was super laid back, easy to work with, and on top of things, but always managed to capture an excellent photograph. Knew some classic Kansas City spots too, which was a huge plus for us. You always hear about wedding horror stories for this or that reason, so if you want to avoid one of those, use Kyle. It'll be awesome.

Kyle and Melissa take the most amazing and artistic photographs, which is the reason that we had hired them. After that, we had found that their prices are very competitive - we bought their package with 12 hours of day of coverage and they included an engagement shoot and the digital copies of all of their photos. I know a lot of my friend's wedding photographers make you pay their fee for taking the photos and then make you pay the jacked up prices for their prints too. It's great to have a copy of the digital prints on hand. On top of that, Kyle and Melissa are some of the nicest people and go out of their way to make you feel great on your wedding day and during your shoots. They were great at controlling crowds and aided very well in getting everyone where they needed to be so the day ran smoothly. Kyle expressed how he often goes scouting on his days off to find more places for taking photos with his couples which shows how passionate he is about his work and it also makes for some awesome photos. Highly recommend. :-)

We booked a photo package that included an engagement shoot, which I would highly-recommend. It gave us a chance to get to know Kyle and Melissa better before the day of the wedding. They were kind enough to drive 2 hours out of KC, to shoot on a farm that’s been in my family for 3 generations. Some vendors we interviewed wouldn’t agree to travel so far or weren’t interested in shooting away from their favorite spots. Kyle and Melissa were enthusiastic to see a new location and came up with creative ideas to incorporate buildings and landscapes that are very familiar to my family, which made them really special to us. Kyle and Melissa brought that same enthusiasm to our wedding day and were calm and flexible when we inevitably had to make small changes our initial plans (timing, location, etc).

If you hire Rivas Media Photography to capture your wedding, you basically hire a photog team and a wedding coordinator all in one. I had a lot of anxieties about day-of scheduling: “when should I tell the bridal party to the ceremony location?” “How early should I do my hair and makeup?” …and so on. After a consultation, RMP provided us with a complete itinerary of our wedding day, at times it was broken down into 15-minute increments. This made it extremely easy for us to simply say “be here at X time” to all of our bridal party and family members who had to come early for photos or help in any way. Another plus to hiring RMP: flexibility. We wanted an outdoor ceremony and Missouri weather can be crazy, so we knew we had to have photographers who could “roll” with it and capture a moment no matter what. If you look through any of the RMP albums, you’ll see great photos, regardless of season or weather. I was really impressed with the way RMP was able to improvise and get amazing images. After witnessing how easy RMP was to work with, one of my bridesmaids booked them for her wedding. I would recommend them to anyone.

Kyle and Melissa were so great to work with. They are so nice and very pleasant to work with. They make it fun and put your mind at ease. Kyle's work as a photographer is just amazing. His photos are really great and he has an eye for great shots. We loved our sessions with him. I would recommend him and rave about him to everyone I know. I get so many compliments on my photos!

We absolutely LOVED Rivas Media! Their pictures are so brilliant and vibrant in color without any retouching or filters. Kyle has a true talent and eye for photography and I could not be happier with our pictures. Kyle and Melissa were so sweet and patient in dealing with us during that stressful time. They met with us multiple times to make sure we were comfortable with everything and that we did not have any questions. Whenever I emailed him with a question, he responded by that night every single time! They really listened to what we wanted to do, and he made it happen! They even stayed late for us on our special day. Included in our package we got engagement pics, an engagement album, a disk of our engagement pics, wedding pics, a wedding album, and a USB with rights to all of our pictures, all for under $3000. He had the pictures to us within 2 weeks! Also, they did a review session with us and went over what pics we wanted in the album and they put it together for us. I can not say enough nice things about this photographer. I recommend them to everyone who is looking for a fun but serious wedding photographer with a great eye!!!

Kyle and Melissa are such a wonderful team to work with and they made our whole wedding day go so smoothly. They met with us beforehand to make sure that we had the timeline all planned out and put together itineraries for us to use and give our whole wedding party and families. Kyle Rivas and his fiancé Melissa make sure you are getting exactly what you want! They met with us before we signed a contract showed us samples of everything. We lived in Texas and having our wedding KC so when Kyle wanted to talk about our day, he would Skype with us. The pictures are absolutely gorgeous! We don't have them all back (he took more than 800 pics) but the ones that looked great without Photoshop were displayed at our reception and the guests were amazed! For our wedding day, Kyle and Melissa and also an assistant of theirs were all taking pictures. They were more than photographers. They helped communicate with the event coordinator, relayed messages to the groom, told the limo every place to go and more! I'm recommending him for all of my friends!

Rivas Media Photography took pictures at my sisters wedding this summer, and I was so impressed with them, as was my entire family! Kyle and his assistant Melissa got to know everyone in the wedding party and families and made everyone feel super comfortable when it came to having photos taken. As my sisters maid of honor I expected to have to keep track of the time and where we were supposed to be when, but I didn't even know what time it was most of the day because Kyle and Melissa took care of making sure we were where we needed to be whenever we needed to be there; it was so awesome not to have to keep checking my phone for the time all day long. Kyle and Melissa were everywhere with us on Laura's day; they went to the salon with us, followed us to Starbucks for a few photos, and really found some unique spots for photos at the ceremony and reception site; I've never seen photos like my sisters before and I think it hats awesome. My wife and I spent quite a bit of time researching photographers in the greater Kansas City area. We wanted high quality pictures at the most affordable price possible. After looking at thousands of pictures on different photographers' websites and comparing packages and prices, we decided on Rivas Media Photography. For starters, the picture quality was incredible. We could not have been happier with how our wedding pictures turned out. They did an excellent job of capturing every moment at the wedding. What really seems to set them apart, though, is everything else they bring to the table on top of the amazing photographs. Kyle, the primary photographer, works very closely with his fiance Melissa, and the two of them are incredible together. It was obvious from our first meeting with them that they genuinely cared about giving us not only the best wedding pictures but the best overall wedding experience possible. From our first meeting up until the day of the wedding, they met with us at least three times and usually for at least a couple hours. They wanted to know everything about us, our story and what we wanted our wedding to be like. They helped us plan everything out to the point of even creating a detailed schedule for the entire day. By our last meeting they told us that we wouldn't need to worry about a thing on our wedding day, they would get us where we needed to go. And that is exactly what they did. Basically, what Kyle and Melissa offer is a photographer and a wedding coordinator in one, which is crazy considering their prices are competitive with photographer of similar or lesser quality who are basically only there to snap pictures. The amount of time and effort they put into our wedding was incredible. On top of the multiple meetings, they went out and scouted locations of our choice where we wanted pictures to be taken so that they would get the best quality shots possible. All of this at no additional cost. We got a second photographer with our package, which actually added a third person to the day. Melissa comes automatically with no extra charge and helps Kyle the whole time he is taking pictures by coordinating everything. This seemed to work out really well because it allowed Kyle to basically shoot pictures the whole time rather than having to get everyone where they need to go at the same time. Melissa is so calm and sweet through the whole process. She even cried at our wedding. In sum, the number of quality pictures we received from the day (over 500) would have warranted a five star review. But when you add that you are basically getting a wedding coordinator and a photographer in one it makes me wonder if any other photographer can even come close to offering what Kyle and Melissa do.

Rivas Media Photography was more than we could ask for in a photography service. Kyle and his assistants went above and beyond to make our day as smooth and special as possible. They are more than just a photography service. They assisted in keeping everything on schedule and worked well with all of our other vendors. Kyle and Melissa were great to work with. They were very professional and very helpful throughout the whole process. My husband and I were very open to ideas for good places to take pictures after the ceremony so we let Kyle and Melissa offer ideas on some places they thought would be unique. We felt very comfortable doing so and the places we took pictures at worked out very well. I really liked how easy going they were, especially on a day that can get very hectic. They were very accommodating. They had an iPad at the reception that showed us a little preview of pictures we had taken throughout the day which was nice. I know family and friends enjoyed looking through those as well. I thought the quality of the pictures were fantastic. I knew they would turn out great and when were first saw then I was really blown away. Pictures were available to view online quickly and you can order prints off the website too. However, our album has taken a little longer to receive. Overall I was very pleased. My sister had used them for her wedding as well, which is how we first met them. I would definitely highly recommend RMP.

I was so pleased with our decision to use Rivas Media Photography. Our location was outside and Kyle & Melissa did an amazing job of picking unique photo opportunities that really highlighted our personalities. The quality of the photographs is phenomenal! We have had many people look at them and say that they should be in a magazine. Kyle captured the beauty of our location without letting it overshadow us. They both were great to work with, highly professional, and they were able to work around our difficult family situations. Planning for our wedding was a bit rushed and therefore it made it really hard to concentrate on all the details a "type A" personality would want to concentrate on. I love pictures, but given we were planning a wedding for 300+ I didn't want to spend a whole lot. I had contacted several photographers, but when we saw Kyle's pictures on his website we knew we wanted to meet with him! The night we met Kyle and Melissa we knew we found our match! By just meeting Kyle, you can tell Kyle is passionate about photography and likes to make each encounter unique. Melissa is very personable and organized. Thus, they make a fantastic team!! They made our crunch time planning so easy and even set-up a detailed schedule to combine and coordinate with all the other schedules to have the day perfectly planned out. On the wedding day, they were relaxed, accommodating and followed the schedule helping to make the day stress-free! The pictures and album turned out absolutely gorgeous! We will most definitely be using them again for other events in our future!

Kyle was extremely personable and got all the shots that we needed. He was very flexible, and worked around crazy weather to still make our wedding photos beautiful. Rivas Media Photography is the BEST company in Kansas City! They had two photographers working my wedding along with an assistant. They know what they are doing and the quality of their work is excellent! They are so nice and make everyone involved feel comfortable and relaxed. i recommend them to anyone looking for a great photographer. Price isn't bad either!

Kyle and Melissa are great! I knew Kyle from High School so he was my first thought when we needed a photographer for our wedding, but the quality of work and value for what they provide was more than I could have anticipated. He was very professional before the day and day of, he knew a lot about how the wedding should run and when we got a bit lost he helped us get on track. He was also great at being 'invisible', so we eventually forgot he was there and just acted natural. They even followed us back to our hotel for our wedding night and got photos of us going up to our room.. it was a great way to end the shoot. Loved them!
