We truly cannot say enough amazing things about The River City Hit Squad. Our wedding was incredible overall (our guests have been raving about it nonstop), but somehow how amazing the band was is always what people bring up, even more than a month later. That alone says everything!
We are very serious dance floor wedding people, so having an amazing band was one of our top priorities, and they absolutely delivered. The energy they brought was unreal. They weren’t just playing music, they were out on the dance floor with us, dancing, interacting, and completely hyping everyone up. It made the whole night feel so fun and personal. And the lead female singer was INCREDIBLE. Her voice and stage presence completely blew everyone away.
Bobby was so communicative, helpful, and just genuinely nice throughout the entire process. Since we don’t live in New Orleans and had never seen them in person, booking them felt like a bit of a leap of faith but it ended up being one of the best decisions we made. Truly zero regrets!
Also worth noting: they were more affordable than a lot of the other bands we looked at, especially for the number of people in the band, which made the decision even easier.
If you’re even considering them, just do it. They made our wedding unforgettable!!

They read the crowd effortlessly, knowing exactly when to bring the tempo up and when to slow things down for those special, emotional moments. The dance floor was packed all night long and kept the energy going.
What really stood out was their versatility. They moved between genres and styles so naturally. Every performance felt authentic, not just a cover, but a fresh and exciting interpretation that kept everyone engaged. We got so many compliments from guests stating how much they enjoyed our band and how talented they are. We even had a cousin book them shortly after for her wedding in October.
Beyond their musical talent, they were an absolute pleasure to work with. Bobby and his team are very kind, professional, responsive, and genuinely invested in making our wedding perfect, they made the entire process stress-free. They handled everything with such confidence and ease that we never had to worry about a thing.

d the right one. Everyone was out on the dance floor and our guests have not stopped talking about how good they were. My grandmother told me, “I’ve been to so many events in my life and this was by far the best band I’ve ever heard at a wedding!” Another relative says “I find myself thinking about your wedding and how amazing your band was!” every time we talk on the phone. Their 8-piece band not only sounded amazing, but they interacted with us and our guests the whole night. At one point, one of the members even got out on the dance floor and had a mini dance off with two of our guests. We also chose to do a second line around our venue and everyone loved it. They were flexible and so easy to work with; which is a huge blessing when you have a dozen other vendors you have to coordinate with. Two weeks before our wedding we unexpectedly had to switch venues. They rolled with the punches and made sure everything continued to go as planned. BOOK THIS BAND!! You will not regret it.

and adaptable, which was important to us as we were planning from out of town and weren’t able to see the band perform live before our wedding. A five piece band played lovely music for our cocktail hour and then the 8-member band came out in full force for the reception, keeping the dance floor packed all night long. We were able to include some Spanish songs from my Spotify that were important to us during a brief band break, as well as request a few specific songs played by the band, including the traditional “chicken dance” for my Polish family. The male lead singer was in the thick of the crowd throughout the night, encouraging everyone to dance and sing along, making for an incredible evening; all our guests still can’t stop complimenting the great music and energy RCHS brought to keep the party going! Truly the highlight of the night, thanks again!!

Multiple guests even asked for their info after the wedding to have them play at their wedding as well.
Most importantly, they kept the dance floor packed and left our guests in awe at the show. We asked for a wide variety of music, and they delivered on this everything from wedding classics to pop to hip hop. They even performed a Brass version of Juvenile's 'Back That Azz' up during our second line, which was a huge hit.
Behind the scenes, they were great. Incredibly responsive, and very accommodating and professional.

We planned our wedding in New Orleans from afar, and we were slightly hesitant about doing so, especially since my husband is a musician. Our venue recommended River City Hit Squad, and we sure are glad we chose them! They are true entertainers and care about you and your guests having a great time.
My only regret from my wedding day is that I did not spend enough time on the dance floor jamming out to River City Hit Squad! This band will help make your wedding one to remember. We are still getting comments from guests on how amazing our band was! Thank you, River City Hit Squad!

or the flowers, but everyone remembers a great band, and River City Hit Squad KILLED IT. I initially got some pushback from my mom ("There are so many people in this band!") and the groom ("What if the horns make it too loud?"), but I persevered and everyone is so glad I did! The band was perfect - a good mix of old classics and new hits, awesome vocals, and amazing energy. They got us all involved in their performance, which was great, and numerous guests told me the band was so good they stayed longer than they'd planned! After the reception, we added extra horn players to do our second line, which was equally great - it allowed us to smoothly flow from the ballroom to the street and it meant one less vendor we had to deal with. If you're looking for an incredible band that will bring your guests to their feet, River City Hit Squad is the band for you!

for that!! They took request...even from my young nieces and nephews and made it happen. If you want a band that gets off stage and gets the crowd moving and shaking then this is the band you want! It's a bonus that they also happen to be sincerely friendly and genuine people that look like they're having as much fun as you are! Can't recommend them enough and say how happy and grateful we are for their talents and for having them be a part of our special day!

On our wedding day they handled a busy schedule effortlessly – setting up microphones for the ceremony, and playing during the Second Line, cocktail hour, and reception – all of which were in different locations. And all it took was a couple of phone calls and emails to plan everything which is a testament to their experience.
Most importantly, they were super fun! We selected this band because of all the excellent reviews we read online. Many of them claimed that River City Hit Squad was “the best wedding band they’d ever heard.” I couldn’t agree more! In fact, those exact words were said to me throughout the night from the majority of our guests. They were upbeat and energetic and had the dance floor packed all night from the moment we were introduced. They played classics and the latest hits, and handled some last minute requests. They even let my Dad play a few songs on the drums, and an uncle sing another!
I would hire this band again in a heartbeat. End your search now and pick River City Hit Squad.

The best part was they agreed to lead our second line outside through the Quarter even though it was raining. The band played nonstop through the rain and did a couple songs back in front of the venue at the end of the second line. We even had a few kareoke moments with guests coming on stage to sing along. Everyone still raves about the band. RCHS, especially Bobby the coordinator, is so easy and a joy to work with. Unlike some other bands we looked at, RCHS offered to play the entire time without extra charge. They played our pre ceremony music, slower music during cocktail hour and then turned it up for the party. YOU GOTTA HIRE THIS BAND!!

It was easy to see that each member of the band LOVES what they do by the joy exuded from the stage and caught by our guest. They played a the perfect mix of new songs with old southern reception party songs and engaged the crowd by dancing with our guests and inviting our guest to sing with them on stage.
Professionally they were so easy to work with and offered to play for extra time free of charge. If you book this band you will not go wrong. They are reasonably priced and worth every penny of the sake of you and your guests good time!

It ended up being so great because Bobby (vocals and guitar) and the female singer ended up coming out of the porch and down to where we were dancing. They had everyone involved and dancing. People were calling me days after the wedding saying how they wished they could go back in time to the wedding night to dance to this band again. They were so much fun I pretty much ruined my gown dancing in the mud!
