For couples who prefer a blend of western elegance and modern luxury, our barn venue is an ideal setting—spacious, stylish, and intimate. For couples who cherish the beauty of nature, our outdoor wedding ceremony and reception sites are the perfect place to say "I do."
Make your special day a wedding weekend by booking our onsite lodging for up to 35 guests. This option allows you to host your rehearsal dinner onsite, take your time setting up for the wedding, enjoy bridal/groom suites, and host family/friends from out of town.

Meet the team
- Dori DeJongOwnerDori grew up just south of River Fort Ranch on a dairy farm. She has fond memories of riding her horse “Goldie” along the South Platte River bottom and watching the same harvest moons and spectacular sunsets over the Rocky Mountains she witnesses today. As a child, Dori recalls daydreaming on top of a haystack, wondering what life would be like living in a city and traveling around the world in one of the jets she would watch circle above her as it made its descent into Denver. Forty years after those daydreams and a lifetime of adventures in the city, Dori returned to her roots when she and her family purchased River Fort Ranch in 2013. Previously, they had purchased one hundred acres of farmland directly to the east of the Ranch. That acreage had formerly been owned by her parents, Hank and Nadine DeJong, and prior to that her grandparents, Andrew and Muriel Hop, owned it. Dori’s son Caden looks forward to being the 4th generation steward of this special land. As a child, Dori loved living on the farm. She was active in 4-H and took pride in showing her Holstein cows at local fairs. She loved being in the field or in the barn with her dad. It is a privilege to get to return to her childhood home. After graduating from Platte Valley High School, Dori attended the University of Northern Colorado where she played basketball and volleyball. She later earned a Master of Social Work from the University of Denver and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Denver College of Law. Several years later she returned to the University of Denver and obtained an Executive Master of Business Administration from the Daniels School of Business. After two decades of working with battered women as a social worker, legal advocate and attorney, Dori retired from the practice of law to manage River Fort Ranch full-time in 2013. Dori and her family feel honored to be able to share this amazing property with family, friends and new friends they look forward to meeting!
